So what's the deal with that cremling that Hoid saves instead of Gav?

After having finished WaT a few days ago I was discussing it with a friend who has only just started and he mentioned something that should have flagged for me. That purple cremling that Hoid grabs alongside Lift. What's it's deal? Lift says that their all over the tower's airshafts and Hoid implies that it's invested, at least more than a child, and enough to be visible despite Lift the blinding being of investiture being nearby. He then talks to it as if it can understand him.

If it's a sleepless then why are the sleepless that guard Rysn surprised that Hoid is impersonating Dalinar? So is it one of the other sleepless factions?
Maybe it's a corrupted spren inside of a gemheart?
I don't really have a theory and maybe it is just a sleepless but it just seems weird to me.

Good catch, the "little purple cremling" was obviously part of a Dysian Amian, but the reaction of the ones with Rysn should indicate that that Amian's allegiance was different from those...

I am guessing the one (or one of the ones) aligned with the Ghostbloods? Not too many other "factions" left, eh?

If that Hordeling was from the one Sleepless working with Ghostbloods, Hoid would probably not save it. Another purple Hordeling was seen by Venli in chasms, on her way to Narak and I bet they belong to the same Sleepless. From Rysn's interlude we know there were two Sleepless guards hiding in vents of Urithiru and from Lift's PoVs we know there were a lot of Hordlings in there as well, so I believe that they all belong to those Sleepless guarding Rysn, maybe Nikli. I don't think that was another faction.

From SA synopsis and from Arclo's words in Edgedancer we know that Sleepless carefully observe most important Radiants like Dalinar and Navani. It would make sense that, when the contest of champions approaches and they know from their future sight abilities that something pivotal will happen soon, they would observe Dalinar all the time.

Nikli was not surprised that Hoid was impersonating Dalinar, he was surprised that Hoid is a Dawnshard again. Nikli came out of vents like an impostor when Hoid started talking with Rysn and he wanted to warn her not to listen to him.

In the Dawnshard epilogue Rysn mentions seeing a purple hordeling as they are leaving. In context I think its pretty clear they are part of the group she made a deal with.

Quote

Not that she was alone. A few hordelings accompanied her in secret. Representatives of the Sleepless, who would train with her and keep watch over her.

[Another page later]

Rysn’s eyes flicked to a purple hordeling hiding on the wall, near where it met the ceiling, shadowed. Strange, how she saw the contrast of shadows much more starkly now.
