Through the Living Hopper He/Him Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 I'm attending Dragon steel (Only a few weeks now!!!!), and I was wondering what the food situation is. Are there restaurants at the convention center? Are there any good ones nearby? If so, I would appreciate recommendations. Thank you. Almost There!!
EdgedancerJacob he/him Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Commenting so I can follow the thread -- I had the same question myself
Use the Falchion Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 There's a solid burger place I look forward to going to every year! I don't remember the name, but they're open on Sundays IIRC, which is a rarity. There's also a few ramen places around. One is actually pretty good, while the other is...worth the price paid, and will fill you up so you can get back to the convention. There are also some smaller stands near the convention area itself, so you shouldn't be missing out on too much! (The main exhibition hall has popcorn and nuts stands and sells water bottles.) Between those two things, a hardy hotel meal, and a generous amount of snacks, you should be good to go!
Will of D Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 It's not right next door but Buds sandwiches is my go to in Salt Lake City! Super good sandwiches for like $8. It's an 8 minute bike ride away (and supposedly there's a bike share system called Green Bike), a 15 minute bus ride, or a 25 minute walk. Other restaurants I'm excited to return to are a bit out of the city and I don't remember what else is super close by
Cosmeregirl she/her Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 The Radisson had incredible french toast on the breakfast menu last year- definitely recommend it if you're staying there. If you're a coffee drinker, just be careful with their coffee as it's extremely hot. The con had some pretty good food stands as well, but the lines were long and there weren't a ton of options. I've seen some people recommend bringing snacks, especially if you're planning to go to a ton of panels. There's also the mall food court, which is a little bit of a walk but the Christmas lights are gorgeous. There's also the Blue Iguana, which I've heard is pretty good, but I've never been there myself. 1
