They are bound to obey the Sibling and their nature prevents them from breaking that rule even though they wanted to. They were forbidden to allow Shallan to pass, yet their nature didn't stop them from wanting to let them go. The quote proves the exact opposite of what you claim. Oh, this one. It doesn't say "they aren't people," they say they don't think like a person, but it doesn't mean they don't FEEL like a person does and desires are feelings. No, I'm not. Honor stops them from breaking rules, but they can still feel and desire whatever they want - including freedom. And that's a very bad example, there are plenty of mothers who don't care about their children and even abandon them. The nature of humanity doesn't stop them for this at all. This is pointless. We're moving nowhere. I think it's time to just end this and agree to disagree. 1.Well, if so, clearly their desire for freedom wasn’t very strong enough to make them act against their honor. Clearly the touch of the unmade increased it. 2. Yes, but those are overall exceptions analogy, still holds people naturally still encouraged to protect and care for children, especially their children. Yes people have free will so we don’t have to necessarily follow our national urges. But nonetheless, you get my point. 3. a desire to help someone does not equal a desire for freedom I don’t know why you keep bringing this up. 4. OK now you’re just nick picking. If someone doesn’t think like a human, then he doesn’t feel like a human fealings are product of your thoughts. Different thoughts different feelings. It doesn’t take me a rocket scientist to figure this out.
Kardenal_13 he/him Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 After reading all these posts discussing "honor" and "Honor" I'm pretty that bmcclure7 is using them interchangeably, while alder24 is using Honor to mean "The power that remains from the shard called honor". So, when alder24 says: On 9/16/2024 at 8:39 AM, alder24 said: Honor stops them from breaking rules, but they can still feel and desire whatever they want - including freedom. He means that the power of the Shard Honor is prohibiting these Spren from doing what they want to do. He means that the sprens literal sense of honor won't let them do what they want. This makes bmcclure7 say that spren are different since they can't literally go against their nature (thier "honor"), while alder24 says that they can't go against the literal power of "Honor" and both thinks the other is using "honor"/"Honor" the same way they are. If this isn't true go ahead and correct me. I agree with pretty much everything alder24 has said so far if that matters. 1
