Necessary Eagle she/her Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 I'm rereading RoW, and I got up to the chapter with this map: Am I overthinking this, or is Nazh's annotation our earliest reference to the Grand Knell? 7
Friendshipspren he/him Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 i personally think it's Aimia in the cognitive realm but u could be right too 1
Aon Tia she/her Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 Since this is close to the Azimir Oathgate, I think it could be related to Spoilers to the Stormlight Novellas Spoiler The Dawnshard!! 1

Elite01 Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 What book is that picture from? I want to try and match up the rivers to a map of the physical realm.

That's the RoW map, this map corresponds to the region of Tukar, Emul and Azir (not Aimia). This can't be the Grand Knell, because the Azish gate is just a few degrees off (truthfully, nearly a full circle measured clockwise) the direction towards that location, while Drehy said they have to travel 48 degrees off. It doesn't match. WaT ch 7: Quote “The awakening of the tower persuaded most of the gate spren,” Drehy said. “The two at Azimir are surlier than most, but they should let us through.” He pointed with his fabrial. “Flight here took just over four hours. As long as we stay at forty-eight degrees from the baseline, we should be right on target.” WaT ch 11: Quote “This device points to something far in the distance. Something the Sibling called ‘the Grand Knell, source of the Current, the death of a god.’ ” “Not at all ominous,” Shallan said, sitting up. “It gives us a bearing,” Drehy explained. “This always points to the Knell. I know the angle from Lasting Integrity we were to take, and I don’t think we’ve strayed too far…” RoW map: Spoiler
