I also really liked that one, that way all the POV's are still in one place.

Plus we could do like a jailbreak arc which would be cool

So then maybe we should do the 2nd one if he refused to leave August

It seems like the best option, it would be less hectic for me to separate people, and wyrmie can also work on his character drama if they're in close proximity to each other.

So probably?

Last call if anyone else has a strong opinion:

Everyone but Rye has been online since you posted this/has been in favor of 2, so...

April kept her grip tight on August's arm. She hated treating him like a criminal after all he'd done for her - he hadn't even meant to run! - but she didn't have much of a choice.

Alright, I'm going to explain the trajectory of the story as simply as I can. I know a lot of people are confused on what's happening, and I don't want to scare people away with one of the massive blocks of prose I've been using to push the story forward so far.

I realize having several moving groups and a dynamic of 12 different npc's probably wasn't the best move on my part. Hindsight is 20 20 I guess.

If you are still interested in being a part of the rp, please read this:

On his way out of Truehearth, March realized that he couldn't just leave the rest of the party in the city. They had helped August and July, and were essentially accomplices in helping them run. So, he backtracked and arrested Arke, Niamh, Ma'tani, and anyone else who was with us. @The Bookwyrm @TheRavenHasLanded @Through The Living Glass

After about a day of travel outside of the city they ran into June and October, who were chasing August. They are now helping March arrest and take everyone away

March explains (because it's about time I give full context to everyone), that they months all serve the emperor of a nearby empire named Worru. August and July are contract bound to certain responsibilities and running away was a violation of that. This is why they are being arrested. As accomplices, the rest of the party is being brought along too. March, June and October have a lot of authority as months of Worru, so there's no point in asking local authorities to rescue you.

April has gone ahead to speak with the emperor in advance and explain what has happened. @Spark of Hope

Luckily, and because I didn't think this through very well, the capitol of the empire is near the border, and only a week's journey. The capitol is called Jouken, and is where the emperor's palace is, this is where everyone is being taken.

The journey is tense, and there is little comradery between the months in the party. They all seem eager to be going home. June replaced March in Guarding July, and is very clearly not on friendly terms with August. October is guarding August.

The group stops at a tavern 4 days after leaving true hearth to rest and get supplies before the last leg of the journey. (This is your chance to introduce your new character @Exotic Almond). We can also have some character interactions if you guys want, but we will time skip to Jouken soon so that we can get the plot moving again.

@BlueWildRye Feel free to jump in with a character at anytime.

Everyone: I hope this works to redirect things. When the party gets to Jouken I'm imagining some kind of fun jail-break arc, or maybe a trial. I'm trying to keep this interesting and exciting for everyone--I don't want my lore to bog things down to much. If anyone has a side adventure or plot-line they want to do, pm me about it! My goal here is to make sure no one feels left out.

A lot of the lore was discussed in PMs because we wanted to avoid spoilers for other players--that said, confusion isn't good. If anyone is still confused I'm happy to re-try explain things.

Wyrm: I know you're still a little lost on what to do, and I feel bad pinging you again for this rp 😅

If you want to avoid working on character drama rn because you don't have any ideas, there's no reason why you couldn't 'stagnate' your characters somehow, and we can think of a plot reason to separate Nov. and Ma'tani (maybe Nov. goes ahead with April?). Whatever you think sounds fun and easy.

That said, if your feeling burned out on this rp and want to leave/ take a break I completely understand. The point of this is to have fun, and I don't want it to be a source of stress.

--------------------------

The tavern was as stereotypical as you would expect. At least it didn't seem extremely shady, and the roof looked secure.

March insisted on taking care of the horses, and let everyone else go ahead.

June went inside and bought rooms for everyone--a surprising luxury for prisoners, but the months had money to throw around it seemed. August and July were immediately taken to their shared room, and locked inside. Everyone else was allowed to wander, but October and March kept a close eye on them.

June returned to the common room, and started playing his flute quietly in one corner. He seemed distressed at locking up his brother, and played to comfort himself.

October settled himself at the bar and ordered a drink, watching the others and idly chatting with the barkeeper. He seemed relieved they'd found both August and July at the same time, less work for him.

March stayed outside, leaning against the wall and enjoying the fresh air. Ready to grab anyone who attempted to run.

The common room was warm and friendly, despite their hostile company. Fires were light in the hearth as the sun began to set. Man from nearby villages finished their workday and came to chat with friends and have fun. October got glances for his armor, but nothing more.

Niamh didn't like getting arrested.

June wandered over to talk to her after the better part of an hour. He was clearly interested in talking to another bard.

"What was your name again?" He asked, arms folded.

She glared at him. "Niamh."

"That's a weird name," He said sitting next to here. It was unclear if he was ignoring her hostility or just unaware of it.

He pointed to her lute, "How long have you been playing?"

"Why's it matter to you?"

"I don't know I don't really get to talk to other musicians much," He said with a shrug.

"I wonder why," she muttered to herself.

"Why?" He asked, his face full of genuine, child-like confusion.

She blinked at him. "Are- are you being serious?"

"Yeah, you were using sarcasm right? I don't get what you mean though." He tilted his head, eyes wide.

Niamh stared at him incredulously.

"What?" June asked, staring back. "Do I have something on my face? I haven't eaten anything."

She sighed and shook her head, looking away.

"What do you play?" she asked after a minute.

"The flute, the piano, the harpsicord, the organ, the lute, the fifes, the harp, the violin, several different kinds of drums, the erhu." He said, still staring. This seemed like a rehearsed line.

"It's from the Shennai place, I was taught it to make ambassador's happy and stuff. Not that we get many from them anymore."
