They were both a little odd even pre-calamity, he noticed changes in her behaviour but didn't connect it to her being an Epic, I imagine they would have tried research based solely on genetics too but having a living Epic probably would have sped things along considerably was my reasoning, personally I find it rather difficult to understand how it would be possible to research Epic powers based solely on mDNA, you'd have to sequence the DNA, replicate it, create functioning mitochondria out of it and then potentially need to clone an entire human, I mean I suppose you could use a heck of a lot of computer power to simulate some of it but it'd take ages.

So it was mostly just that they didn't want their research to be slowed down, however obviously if they had taken your advice they wouldn't have nearly been blown to pieces :P (But then the RP would be minus a truly epic beard, so isn't that reason enough?)

Who knows what exactly the mutations does to them and DNA is ultimately a method to transfer information, so who knows. Having what might be a blueprint seems like it might be more effective to me than just watching something that´s either to dangerous to approach or just plain impossible to comprehend using physics. For example the Epic used as a basis for the Gaus gun, Rick o´Shea. How are you going to research him, if that means you have to give him highly unstable exposives? Alas, we´ll probably never know.

Then again my hopes for Epic research are kind of low, given that I doubt they´ll manage to completely break physics and are going to need obscene amounts of energy.

On other new, I´m wondering what I should write next. Lucentia would be very shorth, Voidgaze´s return to Thoughttown would be a bit premature, if we stick with the plan of her arriving when the attack is under way, and I´m still working out the details for Nighthound´s evening plans.

Talking about NH´s evening plans, Twi did you want a chance for the Unicyclist to meet Ray?

I'm fine with him meeting her or not meeting her. If he does, it could be a chance for him to angst a bit over the secret crush he's had on her for a while; if not, he'll sit and think about how much he wants to punch Nighthound directly in the face. (Not that it's a unique ambition, of course.) So however you wanted to do it, that's fine.

My estimation of a month was pretty spot on as it seems. :P

Wait a minute. If we united humanity to punch Nighthound in the face, would we have world peace? Or would wars break out over who got to punch him first?

Yep. Any spot-on predictions for the next one? :P

It´s the only chance we have at world peace, so let´s not waste it. ;)

Around the same probably.

I wonder which song would be better to inspire Nighthound´s next slaughter Heat-Haze Days or Konoha's State of the World.

There will be jokes. There will be ponies. There will be re-written songs. There will be awesomeness. :P:D

And shipping. There will be much shipping. :D And theories.

For instance: I postulate that the Financier would like Mobius. Why? She can multiply people by zero, causing them to disappear—a feat the Financier has never mastered. (If he could multiply Lucentia by zero, he would. Oh, he would.)

There also ought to be nightmares and fan-fanfiction.

Good thing then that like most important people in Astoria he got a hidden shut-down mechanisem installed. (I forgot to mention this before, didn´t I  feel free to object or ask.)

There will be stalkings and assassinations, and imperial ambitions. And more fantasies about whack-a-mole.

Maybe this time with Lightwards.

Nighthound would be a decent subject for the game where you stuff him into a barrel and stick swords in it, not using fake ones of course.

Knowing his weakness wasn't enough for her? O.o

The more failsafes she has the better for her, she´s really not in the mood for the need to defend her claim on her territory.

Is that game available online? :P

Makes sense, knowing Lucentia. I suppose Finnigan should be somewhat flattered she thinks him powerful enough to need a failsafe. Still--yikes. And we say Lightwards is paranoid.

It´s available in our imagination. :P

The failsafe doesn´t need a lot of work to set up, so there´s no reason not to install it. How much she needs it with Finnigan kinda depends on how insane he is at the moment. (A hint for those of you trying to figure it out: it depends on an Epic´s powers but not on Lucentia´s.)

I still want the Flash version. :P

Most of the time, he's just very neurotic, muttering about evil numbers and screaming obscenities whenever a budget report is left on his desk. He does have a dream of one day multiplying Lucentia by zero, but he doesn't voice it.

Let me guess: Bloody Mary?

Anyone here with programming skills?

Yup, that woman has enough nightmare fuel for the entire city.

You want them to destroy an Epic rehab center? Where some Epics are rehabilitated with puppies and kittens? YOU MONSTER! :P

(Kidding on the puppies thing. Maybe.)

I didn't say I want them to, it's just something they might do if they were bored: go pick on the easy town.

Cipher sounds neat.

War Smasher kinda sounds like a mix of Fade and Guardian. Guardian makes forcefields, Fade becomes insubstantial and can make it real inside of people. He also is an expert in hand to hand combat...

If this were Hollywood I would be suing for royalties.

But thankfully it's not, so all I ask is that you do such an awesome character justice with awesome writing. ;)

Isn't the fact that it's an awesome name explanation enough?

Thanks!

…I didn't even realize that… Thanks for being cool about it. I think they're different enough anyways. War Smasher can become more dense as well and his force fields are different. I'll have to write it happening for you to see it, but it is. And Epics can have similar powers anyways. :P

I see. Feel free to add them. Though, they probably wouldn´t have much succes "destroying" Astoria, if they just travel around to honor their name.

True. The Big Four there are pretty strong, but I think The Destructors have a chance. They all have PIs and offensive powers as well as tanks and weapons.

Oh, you mean the Warriors Nathan borrowed? They're starting to think being commanded to upvote something is unethical.

Weird, huh? :P

Yeah. Lucentia's posse is strong, but they're by no means undefeatable. I think the Destructors would have a chance, as would Blackwave.

Hm. Is there any amount of wind that could stop a bullet? Because I was thinking that, if that was possible, that Wandersail could keep up an extremely harsh wind bubble around her during a fight as to deflect bullets, with harsh winds going away from her body and stopping a short distance away.
