Jo and the Bush all/any Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 If it´s a straight one on one both would effectively negate each others powers, so it´comes down to a fist fight between two immortal beings that can´t be permanently wounded and given that without her powers Lucentia is missing an arm Corpsemaker would probably "win." Although that would only last as long as he holds her in some kind of chokehold, as soon as he´s not there to negate her power anymore they are back to the start. That's about what I though. So there are only three Epics so far (In Portland) that can Survive/beat CorpseMaker. Lucienta, Funtimes and Timeport. And thanks for the Link kobold.
Kobold King he/him Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 My interview is over, I spent a while exploring downtown, and now I'm ready to head back home and work on Funtimes' Emotionally Scarring Backstory! Can't wait! That's about what I though. So there are only three Epics so far (In Portland) that can Survive/beat CorpseMaker. Lucienta, Funtimes and Timeport. And thanks for the Link kobold. Lightwards could survive him... for a while, at least. After about forty deaths he might decide "storm this, I'm not coming back any more." You're welcome. And this is the comic creator, if you're interested. 1

Lucienta, Funtimes and Timeport. And thanks for the Link kobold. I wanted to say something about this but realized it would be a spoiler. So instead I´ll just say that there are some more people that could "survive" although I think Nighthound would be the only one that heals from the brain exploding part... Fade I think would survive but go incorpereal until he finds someone to heal him, still not entirely sure how that works to be honest. 1
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Most of the Resurrectors are easily dealt with, as they resurrect into their Old Bodies. Stick enough Weaponry into their Vital Organs, then make sure it stays there, and they die again as soon as they Resurrect. Timeport is Immune to that as he resurrects elsewhere. And Fade's Incorporeality is an Active power, right? So it's cancelable. The only Epic who can 'win' Against him is Funtimes, since she can teleport to the Moon and back, taking him with her on the way back. He won't cancel her teleportation because he thinks Traveller has it. 1

Lightwards resurrection forces any weapons or foreign material out of his corpse when he reanimates, so that wouldn't work on him. You'd have better luck trapping him somewhere, but eventually he'd find a way out of that. I thought we agreed that Mobius was Oregon's Princess Celestia. 1

Voidgaze doesn´t, Kobold has stated that Lightwards could resurect from a lost hair or just about anything and PP apparently respawns with a new set of clothes so that´s probably in a new body. Actually on the top of my head I can´t think of any Epic that is stated to respawn only inside his own body. *shrugs* I dunno. A yes, the "problem" with teleporters missing a set range limit or cooldown as well as teleporting people into other objects. Without those limits it can be pretty op. 1
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 That's why I gave Sightline set Limits. I wanted him to be a weaker Teleporter. Also, the New Pony Creator has a Pirate Bandana! Why didn't anyone tell me this earlier!? 2

Because we were worried the awesomeness would be so potent it would hurt someone? On a mostly unrelated note, I'm Netflix-binging on Once Upon a Time right now and find I kind of want a loosely Peter Pan inspired Epic. Perhaps a superpowered child with flight, sharpened reflexes, and a fondness for running his enemies through with a short sword? Bonus points if his archenemy is Joe's pirate Epic.

You´ve got the name already, so that´s something. Not neccessarily the strongest Epics but that isn´t a bad thing.
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I'm not certain what the Pirate Epic's Name is. He can definitely detect gold, and I'm thinking of giving him Sword abilities. Maybe some sort of Gun or water abilities as well? 1

Jo and the Bush all/any Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Pirate Joe, Chicago Joe and Calamity Joe Walk into a Bar. There are already two many Joes in here. Anyway, I'm actaully making him a thing. I'm thinking he's a High Epic who rules a Coastal town somewhere. Or possibly all of Cuba. 2

Maybe some sort of Gun or water abilities as well? A sort of navigational power, perhaps? He can navigate to any location--including such nebulous locations as "my enemies' secret lair"? Or possibly a control over gunpowder--he can cause it to explode in his enemies' hands, or if he wishes to only disarm a gunman, simply cause it to become inert. What Kobod said. You´ve got the name already, so that´s something. Not neccessarily the strongest Epics but that isn´t a bad thing. Not many of my Epics are particularly powerful. Lightwards is currently the strongest, while the rest are mostly less powerful agents with distinctive personalities.

Anyway, I'm actaully making him a thing. I'm thinking he's a High Epic who rules a Coastal town somewhere. Or possibly all of Cuba. Cuba, huh? I don´t think we´ll get there anytime soon but for a high Epic here´s some name pitches. Jolly Rogers, Gunner, Captain, Davy Jones, Salt Demon, Sea Demon, Blackwave, Scorbut. Not many of my Epics are particularly powerful. Lightwards is currently the strongest, while the rest are mostly less powerful agents with distinctive personalities. To be honest, I´m bad with low power Epics/systems. With me, it always ends up going big. I literally had to struggle for comming up with something relatively weak for Ray. The only way I feel I can do a proper low power system is by splitting it up ala Mistborn. 1

If you do bring your pirate Epic into the RP, can I create his first mate? 1

The every Joe. "What happened in Cuba" who knows, it might last longer than Calamityville. On my end I´m trying to figure out if Voidgaze should go to the meeting first or head for TT (which always reminds me of a crying smiley) directly.
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Sure thing Kobold. Blackwave: Defensive Abilities: Water healing: When in contact with Water (as little as a Damp shirt) He has instant healing. Gunpowder Control: Can explode or render Inert Gunpowder or bullets. Offensive Powers: Tidal Control: Can alter the flow of the Currents of the Ocean/River/Lake/Waterfall to suit his needs. Can cause Tidal Waves/Tsunamis. Water Control: Waterbending from Avatar; the Last Airbender. Metal Precog: Can sense all metal around him, and can predict it's path in a fight. Can gift this ability. Support Powers: Navigation: Can get to anywhere near a body of Water. (Body of water in this case being bigger than a Golf Pond) Aura of Fear Confidence: Automatically causes low Level Fear in those who oppose him, Confidence on those who support him. Others are unaffected. Wood Restoration: Can heal any wooden Object to any previous State. MO: Rules the Island Nation of (Cuba/Bermuda/Hawaii/ Philippians. Haven't deiced yet.) Lives on a Massive Pirate Ship. Who was it that said Hawaii was ruled by a Volcano Epic? Because I can see a Glorious Rivalry between BlackWave and Volcano. One controlling the Tides, the Other the Volcano. 3

I never said Funtimes could go to the moon, or even leave the planet. (Where do people get this stuff, anyway?) She does have quite a long range, but I wouldn't say it's more than 2,000 miles. Yes, a long range, but not enough to leave the planet.
Kobold King he/him Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Sure thing Kobold. Blackwave He looks awesomely powerful! He'd be really cool to see in action. I especially love the idea of him fighting a volcano Epic in Hawaii. Now to actually think of a first mate. I was going to choose gunpowder control if you left that one out of Blackwave's profile, but now I'll have to think of a new one. Maybe something related to sharks...
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 (edited) The Atmosphere is only 300 Miles, according to Google. so 2000 Miles is easily enough to leave Earth. Edgedancer he/him Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 (edited) Blackwave, now that is one awesome sounding pirate. Shame we´ll see next to nothing of him. Yes, a long range, but not enough to leave the planet. I was more generally speaking and not about Funtimes herself. (Probably from the fact that her entire character is build around being Insane, random and powerful enough so that people can´t just shoot her.) Edited October 31, 2014 by Edgedancer
Kobold King he/him Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Yes, do the Thing. A Mazzive Pirate Ship being escorted by a Navy of Sharks? This has to happen. (Probably from the fact that her entire character is build around being Insane, random and powerful enough so that people can´t just shoot her.) If we opt out of a Hawaiian field trip, he could be great for terrorizing the Oregon coast. Aren't all Epics supposed to be too powerful for normal people to shoot? Compared to the likes of Steelheart or Regalia, Funtimes is almost underpowered. Besides which, I think there's far more to her character than her power and randomness alone.

Besides which, I think there's far more to her character than her power and randomness alone. Don´t give me hopes you. Curveball. (He kind of created my benchamrk for "minor Epic" -> a normal person can just kill them all the same."Lesser Epic" noticebly above human but not high Epics yet, which I defined by their PI but apparently that´s not it. ) To elaborate, while Steelheart mainly focuses on powerfull Epics some of them aren´t all that dangerous but the ones like Steelhearth are more than enough to force the capitulation act. It´s not like Funtimes is only defined by her powers but... how do I phrase this? Her first appearance is being random enough to cause what is eccentially a plot hole, by destabilizing causality enough to suprise someone who knows what will happen. Sure, by now we know that there´s more to her but first impressions and all that can go a far way and are hard to get rid of. (The power level is another matter entierly but I wouldn´t exactly call her underpowered.) Aside from the randomness and insanity, you could say the same for Nighthound, Lucentia, Lightwards, CorpseMaker, Penumbra, Timeport, and pretty much any other Epic with some way to defend against bullets. Never claimed any different. Although I don´t know exactly how Nighthound being a creepy Slonzte that everyone wants death relates to Funtimes effective teleportation range.
