I was thinking at that maybe Electro would make sense because of elder/been there longer, but I can actually see Corpsemaker taking Murphy under his wing.  It is terrifying...

Terrifyingly romantic!

Er, yes. It's quite terrifying. :P

It was actually a last minute thing. CM meant to go alone, but Murphy tagged along because he had some Ideas. Plus I prefer my characters interacting with eachother, so that they can have actual Conversations, rather than answer blocks of questions, then ask their own.

Lots of posts...... :mellow:

Huh. We need to establish Back stories. Sightline killed 80% of the Epics in Bend before coming to Portland. I guess Firelord was too powerful for him to kill.

Good think my backstories tend to be vague about that kind of stuff. :P

Although, this might be the time to mention that teleporing in the range of the Metal isn´t a very smart idea... and I think that I made an offhand comment about Boston being a desert now.

Upgrade's probably a bit too fragile to survive a battle with multiple High Epics, the MEE attack shouldn't destroy them, given the approximate number of epics given in Steelheart there should be a thousand odd minor Epics in Portland, a few hundred seems reasonable for the MEE

Not sure if I would want to join the MEE after their first outing slaughtering almost their entire strike teams.

That makes sense.

So then what could happen with Timeport? I want him to go off so we can go somewhere else in Oregon, and he is the perfect candidate, being able to resurrect and all (good luck finding his weakness  ;) ).

There is always the option of turning him into a lobotomized torture toy...

Of course Aura and EH leave BusDriver behind :P.

Hm. This could be the time for a BusDriver/Backtrack meetup...

It´s kind of sad, when the head of transportation fails to transporst people. Then again he can just make a new one can´t he? Could he turn a real bus into an epic bus for busception?

I was thinking of that. If the buses always turned back into what they were, could he transform one of his Buses into a bus? Then keep doing that over and over again? So when one ran out of gas, it would turn back into another bus.

You know, if Vanilla Sabotage were taking video instead of audio recordings, I could totally see them sitting up late at night, making

 of Lightwards. :D

That might work, if Lightwards zombified a lip-reader. :P

Poor Backtrack. He really needs to post on the "Having a Bad Day" thread. :P

He'd get quite a few upvotes for his use of the word "meanieface," though not for the right reasons. :P

Working on the ponies for "First World Problems" taught me that, while Koschei's cape and armbands look good on pretty much everyone, they look especially cute on Sam.

Sam's Halloween costume met mixed responses. Revolution thought it was adorable, Funtimes thought it was boring, it gave Remington traumatic flashbacks, and Lightwards tried to talk her into eating a pound of wolfsbane to be "technically accurate."

(That's definitely something I'll have to see for myself once I'm back on a computer. Unless you'd care to post a picture now...)

Koschei makes it look cruel, but I think Sam makes it look adorable. :D

It's going to take every ounce of my self control not to put Pony!Sam in that costume every time I use her. :D

(Also, congratulations. You scored "Revolution" on the official "Which Oregon Character Are You" quiz. :P)

You could always have Pony!Sam telling Pony!Koschei "You know the difference between you and me? I make this look good." :D

(Yay! I love Revolution. :D

You know what´s really shocked me about that scene, going from what he said Backtrack would prefer Nighthound´s presence. Granted, as far as Nighthound goes he had a rather good opinion of Backtrack but he didn´t know the man yet.

Why would you control that?

Where can I find that quiz? ;)

Backtrack doesn't have good taste in people. Granted, he did recognize Koschei as a monster, but he was pretty blasé about Lightwards having one of his raptors slash an old man to ribbons. If Reader and Nighthound were in the same room, however….:P

Nighthound´s first action would be to smash in Reader´s head, so that might actually put him in a better, if still dangerous, light.

The only way to keep that scene from veering into full-on horror territory is to add "And then Nighthound died" right after he smashes Reader's head. :P

The key difference is that he peered into Koschei's mind, but viewed the Lightwards scene as an outside observer. He has a mental and emotional disconnection when he simply views a past event, as opposed to when he views the thoughts of the time and gets a visceral sense of the scene.

There's also the fact that I hadn't had Backtrack's character fleshed out very well when I wrote him in the park. :P  :ph34r:

Oh, it 's easy.

You see a woman struggling with groceries in a parking lot. Do you:

  • Ask her if she needs help;
  • Start helping her while smiling and poking fun at the newest High Epic in town;
  • Start helping here while scowling and calling the newest High Epic in town a slontze;
  • Stand watch over her with a loaded rifle while she loads her groceries, ready to shoot anyone who messes with her;
  • Kill her while she's distracted, then use her reanimated body to advance your plans for world domination;
  • Kill her with a death-glare;
  • Force her to take a complicated IQ test before deciding if she's worthy of your help.
  • Make a snide comment about something secretive she's embarrassed about while sipping from your wine goblet;
  • Cup her chin in your hand, tell her she has feisty eyes, and then murder her.
  • Drink whiskey and take a nap;
  • Curse her with bad luck so she drops all her groceries;
  • Push her to suicide by bringing up every negative emotion she has;
  • Saw her in half;
  • Tell her she doesn't need that extra bag of Sausage McMuffins, because you're a nice guy who's got her covered for that sort of thing.

I get the feeling that it´s easy to manipulate this test. :huh:

I think anyone who peered into Koschei's mind would be traumatized.  :blink:

Depending on whether or not the newest High Epic was within earshot, it looks like I'd either be Revolution or Nathan. :D I don't drink whiskey (especially not when driving to the store) and believe saws are meant for wood, so Chicago Joe and Aldo are out of the question….though I could test as Big Al, depending on the circumstances.

Edit: The first three are Nathan, Revolution, and Sam in that order.

Most of our Epics are fairly predictable people. :P

I can't figure out who the first 3 are.

TwiLyght's got it right.

Interestingly enough, he'd probably have a similar gut reaction if he peered into Lightwards' (and certainly Nighthound's) minds. Also remember that he felt mildly disoriented when he peaked into Saccharine's thoughts, simply because her mind is so unconventional and obsessive.

I'd be pretty disturbed if anyone tested as Lightwards or Nighthound from this test. :P Though in my sleepy haste I forgot to add a Funtimes option. Oh well.

(I'm probably Nathan or Revolution as well, though as I said, there are hopefully few people on the forum who would test as many of the others.)

It's probably a good thing he didn't try Funtimes' mind, then. Although he'd probably be just as disturbed if, having seen Koschei's mind, he looked into Frequency's and saw him thinking about what an amazing god Koschei was and how he just knew he'd return one day, because you can't kill a god….

(It does show that he's not as far gone as Lightwards or Nighthound or any other creepy Epic in this game.)

Funtimes: Wave at her, skip over, draw a delighted gasp when you see her bagels, and ask if she wants to take them out of the package and wear them like rings.

If he returns fast enough he can take a break and look into Voidgaze´s head.

I think you forgot some more options. :P

"Oh no, why did I look into her head, her name is Voidgaze, which must mean she's just like—hey, wait a second. Most of her thoughts are about….waffles. And some guy named Big Al. Heh. This….this is nice. I like you, Voidgaze."
