Terrance attacked it again, aiming for the head.

The snake bit at him again, and his thrust was knocked aside by the muscular snake body.

He dodged and lunged forward again, the wickedly sharp point of his weapon plunging down.

It pierced the beast’s side. It roared in pain, rounding on him and pouncing. Edgar fought off the snake with his shield.

He backed away from the attack as well as he could.

Its claws slashed his arm, but he avoided the brunt of the attack. Edgar smacked the snake’s head with his shield, then rounded the monster to fight next to Terrance.

“I’ll defend, you attack.”

Terrance did not answer, but he lunged forward again. He didn't seem to care much about his injuries.

When do we want to kill it, and should we wait for more people?

It batted his attack away with its horns.

Edgar stumbled to his feet, moving in front of Jenny. “Monster,” he hissed.

 It turned towards her.

It still ignored her, running towards Edgar, its claw raking along his leg. He screamed, barely keeping its jaws from biting him in half.

Jenny shot up when Ed spoke, immediately opening her eyes. For a moment, she froze. The massive window was right across from her and she saw how incredibly high up they were. It was horrifying, scaring her more than even the chimera attacking them.

Ed’s scream brought her back to reality. She shook off her fear and growled at the beast in anger. It had scratched Terrance. It was making Elsie cry. It had hurt Ed. Jenny threw herself at the monster as the shadows coalesced around her, drawing Sword as she leapt. She aimed for whatever part of the chimera was closest, slashing almost blindly as she tried to keep the window out of her vision.

She slashed across its flank, a deep wound. The snake tail whipped towards her, the snakes head biting at her.

Jenny jumped backwards, the tail whipping under her feet and the jaws narrowly missing her head. She was grateful that she was at full strength again. She looked over to Ed and saw a nasty wound on his leg. She moved to protect him, but then realized that she had no idea where Elsie was.

”Elsie?! Where are you?!”

She raised Sword, waiting for another opportunity to attack as she frantically glanced around. She couldn’t let her guard down and needed to remain in the fight, but she was incredibly worried about the girl.

The girl was kicking the chimera. Jenny admired her bravery, but she wasn’t going to do any damage without a weapon. She was young and likely had no combat training. Jenny dashed over and got between Elsie and the chimera. Ed was strong. He could handle himself, especially with Terrance’s help.

”Please stay back, ok?”

She raised Sword, waiting for another opportunity to attack.

Edgar was determined to keep the monster’s head, or the lion one, away from Jenny. She could take care of the snake part, he and Terrance would take care of the lion part. They could do this!

Elsie scrambled next to Jenny, and tapped her shoulder.

Harold was also sniping any point on the monster, but was doing very little. This monster was strong. He was just trying to make the monster miss by dealing damage to it. It wasn't working.

The tail (snake head thing) attacked her again, it’s fangs glistening with venom.

Harold shot it, making it move slightly to the side as it dodged his arrow.

That was probably Elsie. Jenny glanced behind her, relieved. Her relief vanished slightly as she still didn’t see Elsie. Was she invisible or something?

”Elsie?”

Distracted looking back to where she thought Elsie might be, she didn’t notice the serpent striking at her until she heard the snap of jaws displace the air over her right shoulder. That had been close. It had missed, for some reason. She turned back and saw Harold pointing his bow at the thing. He’d probably thrown the snake off for her.

”Thanks Harold!”

Jenny readjusted her grip on Sword and stood ready, waiting for a reply from Elsie.

Elsie tried concentrating really hard to un-invisible herself. She started flickering in and out of view. "I'm here." She said as quickly as possible.

Terrance suddenly faltered, his weapon clattering to the ground.

Elsie went completely invisible again as she panicked. She rushed over, and started dragging him towards the exit.
