Lego Mistborn he/him Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 Unsure if related to the site update, but I get a server timeout error (524) whenever I try to search something up. More specifically, I look something up, it takes forever so I navigate away for a while, and it times out. Nothing else has issues loading, and I can even click and open links on the page I searched from.

Method of search (Search bar only, advanced search, Advanced search with filters(see below))? Have you tried more than one method of search? Have you seen any reduced speed elsewhere (other sites, non-search sections of the Shard)? Thank you very much and have a great day. Advanced Search: Spoiler In case you have not tried it, it may help since the filters reduce how much information has to be parsed for the search. Lego Mistborn he/him Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 Windows 11 chrome, search bar only, no slowdowns elsewhere, and there weren't any filters I could really use for the search I had issues with.
Duxredux he/him Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 This isn't a bug, so much as something that has potentially unintended consequences. For the Q&A section, historically the question creator can mark a response as the community answer... even if it was their own post. I know this because I did it before community answers were something we tracked. Click my profile, click Community Answers, and click the thread link and you'll see where I asked a question then much later came back after we got a WoB on my exact question and I posted Brandon's response. I marked it as the official response to get the attention of everyone who had previously posted on that thread, I just wasn't expecting it to later on go on my profile's public record. 2
PanicPug Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 This is not a bug, but a suggestion for the forums to maybe avoid necro'ing a bit better, especially in the Q&A section: Would it be possible to highlight the posting dates of posts that are older than x months/years? Maybe format them red and bold or something? 1

This is the feedback thread, in my opinion, don't take the name too seriously. There are a lot of settings we can do, but do note we will be very cautious at altering the actual site functionality to make site updates easy in the future. The previous one was too customized, which lead to issues. That may change now that the new site update has been live for a while. the Admins will hopefully let us know if they prefer separate threads for each topic, or possibly a new topic for feedback and change requests (or remain in this thread). 3
