I guess. I'm going to try to think of stuff to do in the meantime. Let them have happy moments before the ✨conflict✨

TAAron looked at her there, feeling a quiet warmth fill him that he had forgotten for a long time. You're beautiful. He didn't say it aloud, but she heard it well enough.

@The Halcyon Girl

She blushed, happy blooming inside her. She’d never thought about it before, but maybe she was pretty.

Thank you for believing in me, as ridiculous as I can be.

Of course I believe in you. I love you. It's been much too long since I said that to you.

It did feel like too long, and hearing it made her feel all warm and fuzzy.

I love you too. You’re amazing.

After a little while, TAAron's breathing slowed, and Haly felt the newly familiar connection between them become muffled as he fell asleep. If she happened to open her eyes, she could see wisps of golden light rising from him, not nearly as bright as before but still apparent.

She smiled. Those lights were pretty, and she was glad he was resting. She stayed right where she was, nestled next to him, and thought about how  he smelled nice.

Any thoughts on what his godly nature should naturally become. I can start having that be a personal conflict soon when his own powers get in his way.

TAAron dreamed in that strange place he was growing familiar with, like the world being seen through a crystal. He saw the lights that marked his soul and Haly's, but here he wasn't in his own physical location. He was... elsewhere. He saw the connection between them now, and a million others, all different, crisscrossing the Clinic and going beyond it.

This is new. He let himself drift, uncertain but not very bothered by the strange occurrence. His feelings were too consumed by her for that.

He saw Lerac, who's soul was the only one other than his own that he could see had a different color than white light. TAAron's had hints of flickering gold, Lerac's was a lively green eclipsed with cold darkness. He was connected to everyone, and had an especially strong tie that TAAron assumed connected him to Death.

TAAron shivered in his sleep.

In the dream, he moved along, aimless and not very concerned with having an aim. Then he felt something drawing his eye. He looked back at where he slept in reality, and saw his own soul. The gold cast seemed to be growing steadier by the moment. For some reason he could not understand, this filled him with dread.

Haly could feel only the barest hint of an impression of what he dreamed, not enough to understand it at all but enough to sense a twinge of dread when it came.

Hmm give me an example

Haly considered waking him up. She smoothed his hair off his forehead and waited— she knew he had to rest. She worried about him, though. Probably more than the occasion warranted.

Well, Malum and Bonum were evil and good, respectively. Because TAAron is a person, his would probably be more specific, a particular ideal or motivation sort of Radiant-style.

TAAron tried to resist that golden light, not really understanding what it was doing but knowing he didn't want it to fully take hold. Was accessing his powers doing this? He tried to pull away. I have to cut it off. I HAVE TO CUT-

Haly felt the dread grow, then a moment of stress or even fear before it ended abruptly. The golden lights faded away, and his sleeping form relaxed.

Understanding? Idk I’m not good at this stuff

Something’s going on. That kind of thing didn’t seem normal, even for… whatever TAAron could do.

I’ll ask him when he wakes up.

TAAron's dreams were a mix of newly regained memories, his times with Haly and even things before that had been hidden from him. Haly got even less of a feeling for his emotions, and they all seemed stirred together, from elation to grief. Nothing stood out, specifically.

That's fine, I'll be thinking on it

This was confusing.

Eventually she shifted to rest her head on his chest and fell asleep as well.

If you want, they could show up in each other's dreams.

Could be something like Zygarde from Pokemon where he works to maintain a kind of balance between good and evil

Did you see Lerac's reply to Aventine's question?

TAAron stood in the woods in a world he had known. One young boy watched, laughing as another climbed a knotted tree. Both were about seven. The climber was TAAron, and the watcher his friend, Tristan. TAAron watched and felt as though he was distinct from his young self, standing nearby. He remembered this day, but this dream was not his memory, not exactly.

Haly walked up behind him and watched.

"You were a pretty cute kid."

TAAron looked over at her, feeling briefly surprised, though that feeling quickly faded. "Thanks, I guess." He looked back up at himself. "I would do this to get away when we chased each other around. Tristan couldn't climb trees. But eventually we'd get bored and I'd go back down."

"That's adorable," she told him. "I'm sorry you lost him.'

He nodded. "I lost everyone. But that was the worst, somehow."

"It makes sense. There's... an emotion to it."
