TAAron stood over his own dead body. It lay in the dirt, chest cut open and blood spilled from the attempt to remove the shard of Stacis that carried Malum's influence. Haly, Lerac, and the others were around it, in various states of distress.

Lerac shrugged. "Alright. I'm worried about Aventine, but I guess I do have to go back. Try to look after her. She's been through a lot."

Haly wasn’t ready for that. She grabbed TAAron’s arm and squeezed her eyes shut.

Seeing that again felt unfair.

TAAron looked at it in shock. "I don't remember this... How is this in my dream?"

“Well, it happened,” Haly promised, then rested her head on his shoulder so she didn’t have to look.

"I mean, I know it happened. But I wasn't there when I was... well..." He shook his head, then turned to her and pulled her close. "I'm sorry. I didn't want it to take us here. Let's just wait it out."

Insa nodded. “I will. Look after yourself.” She pointed to his scar. “Saar isn’t very nice to people who don’t do what she wants.”

"Well, she'll find I already have a much more powerful god taking charge."

Is she the one who talked in Insa's head or something? Or am I misremembering?

“Okay,” she agreed, voice muffled by his shoulder.

Haly could hear her own furious and panicked voice, and Ranryu responding. TAAron held her tightly, trying to ignore it himself.

“It was mean of you to die,” she  said, partly to drown out the other voices. “Don’t do it anymore.”

"Alright. I'll... keep that in mind." Finally, the dream faded away.

I think I'll have him at least wake up after this next one. She can keep dreaming if you want, though. Do another memory if you want, though you're reaching the tail end of you're still going linearly.

You could do an earlier memory, or one that isn't a memory. I did actually go back to the subplot thread for that one with Lerac, which was interesting. Otherwise, want them both to wake up?

Haly landed in a field of flowers with a shack. Cows ran out of it and away from her.

Weird.

TAAron walked up next to her. "This is different."

“This isn’t a memory,” she promised.

Ranryu rode out of the shed on a really speedy elephant. “Beware the fluffballs!” She called.

He raised an eyebrow. "I wouldn't think so."

The dream faded and deposited Haly back into regular sleep.

TAAron, on the other hand, woke up. He shivered, unable to banish the image of his own body, cut open and dead.

Haly only slept for another few minutes before she woke up and yawned.

“Hi.” She leaned against him again. “How are you?”

“I’m okay. I’m glad you’re not dead.”
