Tristan, a bit older now, stood in the middle of a violent storm. Malum stood in the sky before him, in his true form that looked nearly angelic, holding a flat shard of metal, like a piece of broken glass, that cut into his hand. Another slash created what appeared to be a great tear in the sky. Darkness crept from it, movingly quickly, erasing, streaking to the ground and consuming. Houses, trees, people all were flung about by the storm, and were lost in the darkness that seemed to cut the world apart. In the middle of it, the two young boys under the laughing god were the last that it reached. TAAron held on for only a moment before it separated him away too, and in an instant it seemed he was infinitely fast away from everything else, nowhere at all, another piece of nothingness with a glowing crystal ring around an arm. The dreaming TAAron watched on, tears streaming down his face. The two of them were not with the young boy, not really. They just watched. The boy was alone.

Quote *is literally out rollerblading right now* It's two hours earlier for me, so I don't see your logic. By the way, her dreams don't also all have to be memories. TAAron's are because that's what his mind is processing right now, but hers could be normal dreams too. He barely seemed to notice. TAAron wished for it to end, but they watched the young boy, within the darkness, seeming dead except for the faintest motion of breathing in his chest, for an agonizingly long moment. Then the darkness finally took him too. The memory ended. Edited October 10, 2024 by The Aspiring Archivist

The grass was longer and thinner than it should be, and surrounding the island was a sea of liquid metal. A ship sailed not far away, headed for a different tiny island on which Haly, Rylla, and Mitis stood. A shiver— good and bad— ran down her spine. "Aventine, don't-" As soon as she touched the hilt, which seemed made of tarnished or burnt metal, the hand burst into flames. They were a strange gray color, travelling up her arm and to the rest of her faster than she could think, covering her in a thin, flickering blaze. The fire was not hot. It was terribly, terribly cold, seeming colder than ice, though something more than just ordinary warmth, like the horrible opposite to Lerac's healing. The cold consumed her, moving into the rest of her like it really was burning through flesh, despite her not having a mark on her. She felt death touch her soul, felt the core of herself trying to be separated from her body. Her heart slowed, her vision blurred, her muscles began to give out. This all happened in only a moment. Then Lerac grabbed her wrist, heedless of the pain, holding it tight. The healing warmth seemed hot in comparison to the cold, and the deathly fire faded away. The sea around the island shifted, and now there was a dock connected to a mainland next to their little island. The ship from before faded into view from the distance, and three people (two men, one woman) in crisp white clothing lined with a dark purple color stood on the dock. His past self, a few years older now, sat hunched over the books, reading intently. Occasionally he would glace at the spot next to him on the table that had the strange circle of white crystal that he had had on his arm the day of the storm.
