You're suspicious of any man who has magic, even someone like TAAron! You attacked me for walking through a bloody gateway!" Nameless exhaled sharply, turning away from Rue and struggling to control his anger. When he continued, his voice was much softer, quiet enough that Rue probably couldn't have understood his words without their doubled bond. "Why? Just... why? Did a male channeler do something to you? Hurt you, or... someone close to you?" He sighed, anger draining away, leaving only a vague sense of confusion and pain. "I don't know why you should care about me, but please, can you tell me why you hate male channelers? Why you hate me? I don't want to argue, I don't want to manipulate you, I just... I just want to understand."

Rue took a deep, shuddering breath. “You and your kind have taken everything from me. I didn’t…I…my family were the Tuatha’an. The ‘Tinkers’.” She took another breath, and suddenly a sharp, ragged pain filled her. “One of you destroyed them. Destroyed them all, and of course none of us fought back because believed there was a better way. But I know better, now. I survived and I went to the Tower, and then, suddenly, everyone decided you were safe. Sane. An ally.” She scoffed. “But I still know better. I’ll wait as long as I have to, because I know that you will never change. And when everyone else is taken by surprise, I will be there to protect them.”

Surprisingly, the girl wasn't startled when an unfamiliar voice entered her mind. She didn't know why, though. I... I don't know. I can't remember anything from before i came here. Every time I try to remember, it feels like my brain is kicking me out. Sorry if that confuses you, but I can't think of any other way to explain it. She looks over to Tal.
