A girl visible to only her sat on the floor in front of her. Her airy golden hair went down to her shoulders. Her eyes were an incredible yellow.

Thinking it was another person, Aventine said, “I’m not in the mood to talk right now.”

”Fine,” the girl said. Her voice was identical, not only to Aventine’s, but to Sass’s, and what Tena’s had used to be. “Just listen then. I know you feel horrible right now, but you can still help.”

”Help? All that’ll do is make things worse.”

”No, no, no. Get out of your head. Sometimes, you are your own greatest enemy. You can still help. The people here need you.”

”This is my fault. I didn’t realize what would happen if I took away Tal’s fear…”

”That doesn’t mean you can’t help. You have a vial of metals. Get out there and ignore the voices in your head. They’re wrong about you, just like how mine used to be wrong about me.”

The blonde girl set a hand on Ave’s knee. “You can still do something to help. Keep moving. That’s the only way things are going to get better.”

“You heard a voice in your head too?”

”A few years ago, yes. But I eventually realized how wrong it was.”

Aventine pulled out her metal vial. “You’re another me, aren’t you?”

The girl smiled. “Call me Akarui,” she said as she faded.

Aventine looked at where she had been, then down at the vial. You are your own greatest enemy.

She stood up and swallowed the vial. She wiped her tears and made her way to the eighth floor.

Pics speed carries him into the wall, and he quickly leaps, bouncing off of the wall. He lunges at Tal again, passing through smoke. 
 

The smoke caused him to choke right before he hit Tal, and the loops powering his speed and his sword flickered.

The fire raged around him. Tal stood, facing Pic. His eyes were closed. He looked…satisfied.

Pic hums once more and simply crashes into Tal. His music prevented some of the injuries, but moving at that speed had it consequences.

Jar Man hit a wall, but rebounds, pulling drugs out of everywhere and shoots himself up. I'm sorry Aventine... but maybe it would be best if I died to help fix another. And with that, his ears fill with a roar, his eyes go red, bloodshot, and he moves so fast its nearly impossible to see him.

Addison found Tal. Pic and Jar Man were attacking him. Maybe he would kill get even the flames, for some unknown reason, could not. She walked towards him, unnaturally calm.

Addison felt her skin being burned, her flesh bubbling. She continued walking.

roy sat down in the middle of the fire and closed his eyes. he reached out and probed for the source of the fire. the source of the magic. as he was probing he also quenched a small bubble of space around him keeping him safe.

Pic flew past Tal after crashing into him and hit the opposite wall, choking on the smoke particles. His music faded right as he hit the wall, and things crunched. He rollled to the floor, coughing up blood.

As she hurriedly made her way to the eighth floor, her tin allowed her to hear the crackling fire and screaming clinic habitants.

Uh, do any of you have anything that helps with fire?

Without stopping once, the switch happened - and she shrank. The thing was, Akarui was short. But that didn’t make her any less powerful.

Two lavender wings appeared on her back and she flew up the rest of the way. When she saw the decimated floor, she knew she was in the right place.

Her feet hit the ground and her wings disappeared. While she had abilities that helped with fire, her wings would burn up quickly if they caught fire. Akarui made herself invisible and snuck over to Tal, controlling the fire to avoid her skin.

Still invisible, Akarui bent the fire around her to protect herself. She was resistant to being burnt. She'd use that.

Jar Man felt a hand press onto his back for a split second. The fire impacted his body much less than it would have before. Akarui's resistance to fire returned to that of an average person. Keeping it away from herself was more lucrative now.

She had no idea what was happening but if holding onto a feather meant staying safe, then she would do it.

The feather zipped down the stairs - fast, but not crazy. Once it had started to fly, it became visible, and it was a light purple color. It set Lundyn near the entrance to the clinic.

Tal…didn’t seem to notice. Each hit seemed to hurt him far less than it should. In fact, he almost seemed to…enjoy it? Draw strength from it?

Just then, the floor collapsed. Tal laughed as he fell to the floor below…fire and screams spread from him.
