the book noticed a nasty looking paper-cut on Pic's hand. it flew over, then wacked itself onto the cut. while painful, this healed the cut.

"mph" the book explained.

"... Interesting. Can I see that green one?"

Pic shook his hand, surprised that the cut had been healed.

"Sure," he replied, absently handing the book over. It was called No Wait Communicate: A Guide to Speaking to the VIPs of the Universe

He then looked at the book, "Ae you gonna do anything if I unlock you?"

Crow, crow, crow... She canned the index, eventually finding Corvidae. She flipped to the page it mentioned, where the spell was written out.

"Now we just need to find a crow."

"It's probably fine to open it. Maybe it'll have something helpful."

@Cash67

Pic picks up the book, holds it in front of him, and unlatches the lock.

the book unfolds in a flash of light.

In it's place, is a wooden cutout of what appears to be some kind of medical professional.

"MeeM" it goes.

it slides into the cafeteria, and opens a door. on the other side of the door was a house.

Okay, Lerac wouldn't really be able to provide knowledge anyway. Despite being on leave, that would be too much interference for an avatar of Death

"Again, please don't use necromancy unless absolutely necessary."

"So we need to find a crow to take this message to the Creator. You guys think Trevor will be able to find one?"

Lerac was silent for a moment, then held up his hand. There was a wave of that healing warmth of his, and a crow somehow grew in his hand, flesh, talon, and feather rapidly forming in the right arrangements. Once it was fully formed, it cawed.

"Oh my-" She cut off. It was a mix of fascination with a tiny bit of fear.

"I used to just do plants. This is a convenient addition."

"No. I am not Death. I have my own ability to create life. It's part of why I was chosen. Not to mention, Death usually doesn't kill things."

"Huh." She blinked a couple times before picking up the book. She started the spell to take the message.

Medium wasn't super clear about what it was, but I don't know that specifics are necessary, right?

Yeah, it's probably fine to skip that.

The crow did not immediately react, and Lerac frowned a moment before seeking ti realize something. He whistled, a pure, clear tone. Immediately, the bird flew off.
