The flying spider
The plant which nomad finds himself in at the epilouge is described to be with islands and shodel on ships which is exactly how the second plant in yumi is described. So I was just wondering if it's the same planet.
Ookla the Name-Stolen
From how rare Sigzil indicated the Sho Del were, I'd say that there are good odds it's the same planet. Which means there's a chance he can eat some noodles from Yumi and Painter's restaurant before he leaves.

What makes you think that Yumi is before Sunlit Man?

Hoid mentions that UTol is a planet that whoever he's telling the story to might have heard about, and assuming there's more to the story than the planet being inhabited by Sho Del, it seems like Sigzil might've had something to do with it. OK, so you are assuming that the prominence of the U'Tol system arose in between the time of YATNP and Hoid telling the story? I understood Hoid in the way that U'Tol was already known during YATNP

I understood Hoid in the way that U'Tol was already known during YATNP Considering that Hoid was trying to research Yumi and Painter's planet and that Design knew so little about UTol that she thought it was possible for Yumi to be from it, UTol couldn't have been well known at the time the story took place. +robardin
Actually, if Hoid is actually telling the story of Yumi, on Unnamed Sho-Del Occupied Planet to Sigzil in a meetup there, after he comes around from being magically petrified, that would explain everything! The target listener was, after all, expected to be familiar with Rosharan terms/things as a baseline comparison, like saying how the listener would say that Nikito "looked Veden", but also "more advanced tech" things than we see in the Days of Kaladin and Dalinar. And also to not need explanation of things like life on other planets, or what a Shard was.
Szeth_Pancakes
I like that idea, but in the Yumi epilogue Hoid tells the reader that they "might have heard of" UTol. That wouldn't really make sense if they were there. (ps: quoting this from memory. fair chance i might be wrong)
+Bzhydack
It was also my first thought. I think it is the same planet. But when it was, it is a different story.
apepi
I am not sure if it is the same planet, but I think Brandon Said Sunlight was the furthest that we have seen before or something?
Saxsoon
It definitely crossed my mind. Brandon is getting more and more bold referencing Yolen and the Sho del which is really exciting.
Cocoa
I suspect so (since Sigzil comments on how rare ShoDel are), but if it wasn't then I think that it was still intended to give us a bit of information; both times we've seen ShoDel in the physical, it's been in aquatic/atoll biomes, so they might have lived in similar environments on Yolen and gravitate towards settling waterworlds/pseudo-waterowrlds as a result.
