"Goodnight," Amyra told Wren, as she began to fall asleep in the ruby hut. She summoned Aerie as a sharbucket to place outside and collect rainwater as she slept.

She trusted Wren, and she knew the highstorm would prevent any other tributes or monsters to enter the hut until riddens.

She needed a good rest, and her shoulder would heal with the stormlight.

Aerielle would wake her up if needed, at least Amyra could count on her for that.

"Hey, Wren!" Amyra says, as Wren closes the door behind them, "It's been a while. Were you caught up in the chasms?"

"Yeah, but I managed to find you again, thank goodness."

Wren lies down, facing Amyra. they may have made an alliance, but Wren was always too trusting of people. They didn't want that be the reason that they were killed in this. Not that Wren wasn't trusting of Amyra. They just wanted to be cautious, is all. "Night, Amyra," Wren says, closing their eyes.

Now. Or about an hour ago. Pretty much when I said it did. But I don't want anyone to die in a highstorm, you gots to kill each others, so you can still make it to shelter.

For sure, it's far too late tonight. (idk what time zone you're in but being awake right now with the amount of sleep I've had in the last week is probably not healthy)

Ezrium watched the highstorm rage on outside of the cave. It was his shift, but it didn't matter, as sleep eluded him anyway. He and Sage had collected most of the emeralds in the cave, and were now simply waiting the highstorm out.

Just wondering, but can Progression heal those that have died?

No. If they died, like, five seconds ago, their soul might still linger, and you could probably heal that. But if they died ten minutes ago, no.

Amyra woke up to the slightest of sounds. Most likely just the wind. Wren was still asleep.

It was light outside, but the storm was still raging.

Goooood morning! Aerielle's voice sang in her head.
Hey Aerie, Amyra said, leaning back against the inside of the ruby hut.
Not even a good morning?
Good morning,
 Amyra replied, monotone.
Thank you.

Amyra went outside to retrieve the shardbucket, and poured the water into the existing ditch she made in the hut.

Well, someone's tired, Aerie remarked.
I'm just thinking, Amyra sighed.
Finally! I didn't think you would be capable, honestly.
Amyra didn't reply.

Okay, what are you thinking about, Aerie said after a while, curiosity giving in.
I'm not supposed to be here.
Clearly.
I don't want to kill anyone.

How unfortunate.
What am I doing here?
You think I know?
Wow, I love the positive reinforcement,
 Amyra muttered.
Yay! You got this! I believe in you! Aerie said in a childish, mocking voice.
You're terrible.
You know you love me, Aerie laughed.
I do, Amyra admitted.
I love you too, Aerie added.

They were silent again, taking in the sounds of the highstorm in the morning.

Ezrium predicted the Highstorm would last the rest of the day. He knew he needed to rest. He woke up Sage for his shift. Tomorrow, the bloodbath would begin.

Amyra: Suddenly, everything around her desolved. For a second, it was all black, then shapes formed, and a scene unfolded around her. Men fighting with swords, maces, and lances were screaming as they rushed with vigor. One bumps into Amyra, reminding her that she was part of it. A huge figure on a horse came tumbling towards her, after it had been trapped by a soldier who had sacrificed his own life to do so. It barely missed as it can within inches of her. A soldier whering a red uniform that contrasted with the blue and black around cane running at her intensely. However, he was cut off as a man suddenly tackled him, then got up and cut at here.

Amyra felt dizzy. She looked around and all she could see was red. All she could hear was screams.

Blood! Blood! Blood!

Her arms trembled as she drew her sword.

"No..." She whispered under her breath.

"NO!" She screeched, cutting down an attacking soldier.

And the soldier fell to the ground, dead.

Her heart stopped. She couldn't breathe.

What had she done?

Please, someone save her from this war.

War...

This terrible, terrible war.

The one in the red uniform came at her again. “Brightness!” He waved her as he grabbed her and led her through the chaos. They suddenly felt a huge rumbling  from the ground and the soldier in red started running.

Brightness...

Amyra was stunned with the confusion. She... she was a lighteyes.

No... This is all wrong... All so wrong...

"But-" She protested, trying to escape from the soldier's grasp, "But they're dying! I must protect them!"

Tears streamed down her cheeks and soaked into her clothing.

"I must protect them..." She said again, trailing off as she watched the violence unfold.

A huge, colossal dark shadow exploded form the ground not far away. It exploded in a wave of flame. Many burnt as the flames washed over them. They headed toward Amyra, but as they came, the man in the red uniform leapt in front and took them. He fell, front portion of his body charred. The dragon continued his wreckage in a different direction. And the man rolled over and whispered something weakly to Amyra.

Amyra gasped and fell to her knees, speechless.

This man took his own life to protect hers.

Why.

Why?

"You..." Amyra cried quietly, "You could've lived."

She should've died.

She should've died.

There is only one way to survive in the world.

Kill or be killed.

She couldn't save him.

She couldn't save anyone.

No one could.

Why had she been so blind?

She should've died.

The dragon destroyed. Hundreds more died. The burned, and it came again towards Amyra. It shot flame. In an instant, she felt the heat approach. It came and was almost upon her until it was battted aside. Ha shield formed in front of here, and she was safe. Outside the invisible shield bubble that formed, the flame envelopes everything, creating a background. There, in the Bubble she saw another, straining. The bubble collapsed as the flame stopped. The man spun and threw a spear straight into the dragons heart. It fell. Then he turned to Amyra.
