Dang- you're doing like all of TLT. That's awesome. Though, I don't believe that we could make it work all together as a novel. I would much rather pick specific plot lines and turn those into their own novels with short stories about some of the random side adventures before the first novel to set the tone and in between the different stories, with plot building in them until the novels come. Though, if you want to do it from the very beginning... that's cool.

I think that would be good, but first we should organize all of it into something readable.

yes. I will probably pm everyone on the Credits list asking for permission, then adjust based on that.

Novellas for the crazy plots could maybe work? Just like random backstory for the world's?

yeah. Stuff like that embraces the crazyness of TLT, which we sort of want to try and replicate.

I do like the idea of one thing though, even if it is all over the place at some points.

Maybe we could have a bunch of small arcs leading to the big arc of Thaidakar dying. But either way, having TLT fully transcribed unto a doc would be nice.

Here is the thing. Thaidakar was a big part of TLT, but he was by no means all of it. We might need to recognize that there is and won’t ever be a central thing in TLT. Maybe unless you made some of the world building stifff and powers come into play as characters or something.

Could we, prehaps, remove some of the rather useless parts of the content by said people five years ago? It would certainly make it easier to get people's permissions.

We're compiling a list of everyone who has posted on TLT, and we're on page 1300 last I checked. Given that the last 200 or so pages have been pretty coherent, it might be best to use that as the foundation. But maybe still getting people's permissions would be cool.

Secondly, the short story idea (from Thaidakar) is cool. it might work better to have "Micro-plots" rather than one big coherent plot.

The reason I’m working the credits so early is because I would like to send an individual message to every single person to inform them that we are creating this, could use their help, and need their permission to put it together. Currently we are leaking into the 200’s I believe and some people hardly participated. Based on my knowledge about 10% of the people who have participated went offline and haven’t come back in the last 2 months. Getting every persons permission because of this is nearly impossible. Since some of the earlier pages may contribute to lore and we have a credits page that completely credits them to being the original writers, could we possibly get 50-70% of the people’s permission and continue with the project?

(People like Nameless* have contributed more. Should we just focus on getting the permission of the main contributors and the one liners are just left to the credits for their contribution to the work?)

The way I see it is that this permission gathering has to go is that we need permission from the poster before we can use their content. This applies to ANY content from that user, no matter how important it is.

If they cannot/do not give permission, we should seek to remove their content from the TLT mainframe (I have plans for this don't worry) before actually picking and selecting what we want.

AonEne already said we would have to do this, and considering they are a mod, I think it might be worth actually trying to PM each participant, explaining that we would like to create a TLT adaptation. - I'll do the PMing, since I can also try the 17S discord if certain members (Elephant comes to mind) aren't around on the forums anymore.

But certain people will probably be a no but even then I'm still going to try.

Okay. I intend on finishing the credits soon so you can start PMing them when I finish. If you have a method of removing their content then I’m all ears. I was just very worried and unsure how we would go about removing their content.

I have a very very special way of removing their content.

My current plan is to ignore everyone who gives us permissions, leaving only those who don't behind. from there, content to be removed can be added to a list like:

I don’t quite understand, but if you have a way you can do it you could probably be VERY VERY helpful there. I also suggest we PM each other to create a message to send to each sharder.

I think that's a very good idea, in fact probably the only sustainable one. Not that I don't believe you guys could PM every single person involved, just that it's work and not everyone would reply. That's why I suggested taking some parts of the plot you're familiar with (and that don't run into what Star is already writing? I don't know how active that project is or if you intended to use those bits of plot anyway) and focusing on those - that gives you a lot fewer people to have to deal with, in addition to a more manageable plot.

Can I help with this too?

Also, would it be more efficient if certain people were assigned to certain pages (EX. One person has 1-100, another has 101-200, etc.)

Maybe, but then we get slackers who don't do their contribution and all that.

So for now, it's just "C+P what you can "

Star's writing something about it? First time I'm hearing about that, that's cool though!

And, yeah, PMing every person involved would only get about 50% of a response. For everyone else, because I bet Ene already knows the scale of this, think about it like this, Misadventures has been running since 2018. In that time, think about how many people have been on, think about how many have come on in the last six months and multiply that by how many six months there have been since it started. There have been so many people on that we will not most likely get even half of them to respond, even people who actively rped.

Yeah. Smaller stories might make more sense, but the plot revolving around Thaidakar's death could be good.

Yeah, that could be fun. I give my permission to do that as long as you stick at least fairly closely to what happened in the thread and at least consider any advice I may give to the storytelling when it comes to my characters.

Dear god this is a mess.

Okay hi, I’m Zephy, previously known as Star. For the last five years I have been working tirelessly on my own CBSS adaptation inspired by the events started around page 320 of TLT following the story of Narrator Star Celeste

I have basically done a COMPLETE overhaul of the characters, story, and magic system, to the point that it’s only tenuously linked to the source material. The CBST/TLT four part magic system is really cool, but it’s also fiendishly complicated and - as always with me - I want to write a story that serves character more than worldbuilding and is tightly held together by theme.

TLT is cool and it always has been. But as someone who has been working on making something coherent based off of it….. It’s hard. Incredibly hard. Trying to incorporate all the interwoven threads (hehe) of plot, characters and worldbuilding is one hell of a task. It’s incredibly hard to work with two people towards one creative vision, much less a handful or more. But what makes TLT so cool IS the fact that so many people contribute to it. So be careful.

Later pages have been more coherent, but still a complete mess. It's kind of hard not to sacrifice some aspects of it in order to make a comprehensive story, but we definitely want to try.

starting from a couple pages after my first post the story starts getting a lot more coherent. That's when Plot died and plot began
