I know that we are not copy and pasting but I thought it should start this way.

I was thinking the opening scene could be Thaidakar dying or something like that, which would add a sense of age to it

Yes, but there have been so many bouts of plot. I would read the Witherlord plot line in specific.

Though, if you want to start with Thaidakar's death, I will question what sort of story you want to tell.
