Admiral Kalin was, for all intents and purposes, a human.

The proper term would be "humanoid," though the essential dependency made it nigh-on impossible to effectively translate into anything other than Earthling. Basically, he was bipedal with two arms, a single head, ten fingers, two eyes, and dark brown hair. Two meters tall, exactly - in Beorin standards, anyway. He wore a dark black uniform bedazzled with too many medals and honorifics to count, each gleaming with contrasting colors to make the starkness of the uniform pretty much obsolete.

There were exactly two reasons he wanted to see these newcomers, though he hadn't divulged either yet.

"Welcome," he said, as the prisoners were escorted to the bridge.

Variance didn't exactly know how to respond, so he remained quiet. He did make sure to look him in the eye.

Strohger nodded at him.

"I believe your companion here is familiar with our methods of infrastructure," Kalin said, referring to Ayia. "Care to explain, dear?"

She did not.

"You are currently within what we affectionately refer to as a Skyfortress: put simply, this entire construct is but a stronghold set to defend and siege from outer space. We're currently in orbit around a large water planet, whose designation slips my mind. It - and here - are serving as our foundation for invading the universe that you have so brazenly emerged from." He strode down towards them. "Already we've noticed a strange surplus of seemingly contradictory magical fields... it will be a bother to conquer, but once under our command will serve our mage force immensely. I admit that the powers you've brought here with you are unfamiliar to me, though it won't take us long to decipher and exploit them."

"What do you mean, exploit them. Isn't that human trafficking?"

"I was referring to the magic you have brought here, but I suppose we could exploit you personally as well."

"So you don't have any magic whatsoever. So whatcha gonna do? Blackmail us?"

"Hm? Oh, you misunderstand."

"St... mate." Ayia turned to him. "Don't antagonize him."

"I mean, if he thinks we're so valuable then I might as well. And I don't really understand you, admiral-not-ackbar, you just talked about how you need some magic so you're gonna... exploit the magic. Great."

The admiral turned to Ayia. "Care to explain?"

She shifted her gaze away. "Beorin... they're an empire that exploits every resource. He's not trying to take your powers for himself... he's trying to add them to the Empire's collection."

"Sounds like great people. Yeah. No taking my power, even if you could."

[Which he probably couldn't. At most he could steal flags. Since no one has trace in this universe he can't connect to fourth and use tempest. Although kinda regretting the "Eat water conduct electricity thing"]

"You claim that yours... generates electricity?" He checked a notepad. "The field you're generating seems unrelated to that sort of thing. Care to demonstrate?"

"Fine. Get me water. Like. A. Lot. Of. Water.,"

"How much?"

"We're talking litres. Many litres. Like the size of a small pool"

"I'm afraid that will be impossible for this chamber. We'll have to look into it later, and under more supervision..." He met Strohger's gaze. "And bear in mind that any lies you might concoct on this matter will only serve against your long-term well-being."

"Long term well-being? Fine. You want to know something. Guess what? I lied." Take the L, Strohger wanted to add

"I thought so. See, the energy field you emanate seems to follow standard Domain-Type signatures, but... is it ranged, perhaps? Akin to a land mine more than a fortress."

"I emit an energy field now? It doesn't have limits* and doesn't work the way your... Primitive powers do."

Generally doesn't but he be lying

"I should think not. After all, if your magic was so unlimited, I doubt you would have bothered to become captured in the first place."

"Fine. Relatively unlimited. Potential is unlimited.* Better? It's just taking... Precautions against destroying multiple universes**"

Quote

* - Eh it really isn't

** - This, is a bluff. Only the Otherside (destroy universes) is present in certain universes, and I have made the executive decision on this one not having otherside

"Hm."

The admiral turned to Variance next. "And yours is... quite odd."

Question how does he know what powers they have

I thought he hadn't seen them before (or their powers)

Although I do want too know, can the admiral die from tempsest directly?
