Fedelpen Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 (edited) Consistency before ambiguity; progress before stagnation. I will work for the greater good. I will do what is fair. I will allow others to reap what they sow. These were made with a harsh mentality in mind. You kill someone, it's fair to kill you. Consistency then demands that I do so for all. Reap what they sow allows me to suspend that in times of war. That kind of thing. I suppose I COULD agree to these, because I can impose my interpretation on them. But I would vehemently oppose others who lived by this. I couldn't accept an organization that ran without focus on kindness, mercy, understanding, hearing both sides, second chances, etc. Edits: Well, I suppose I should do some that aren't so serious. I will not respond to stupidity with mockery. I will allow others the right to be unreasonable. I will not correct those who I perceive to be wrong, even if it would be for their own good. I will act when I should. I will not take the malhonorable advantage I see in a fight. I will work as hard as I should. I will not continue to be serious after I said I would stop it. I will remember the names of those I meet. I will paint patterns on the leaves of plants I touch. I will not consider practical jokes. I will complete all things that Edited June 24, 2014 by Fedelpen
The truthwatcher he/him Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Vegatables before pizza, exercise before video games, fruits before dessert. And I will only read twilight books from now on. 1
Andrew C Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Serious one: "I will place the law above all else". I would never swear that. Silly one: "I will never use Facebook at work." 2
SmurfAquamarineBodies he/him Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Serious one: "I will place the law above all else". I would never swear that. Silly one: "I will never use Facebook at work." Is that even possible? ( ignoring the fact that I never used Facebook when I was working ) 1
Kal973 Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I will grow up. I will stop to read fantasy books. I will not re-read my favourite fantasy books again and again. I will stop daydreaming. I will lead a realistic life. Instead of speaking about magic, knights, swords, dragons, and alternate universes with my friends, I will have discussions about sports and money and politics with them. I will stop listening toTwo Steps From Hell when I'm washing the dishes just because it gives me a huge sense of epicness. I will never watch StarWars, LOTR, Matrix or Pirates of the Carribean again. Especially not when I'm sick and stuck in my bed. I will not be obsessed by dragons. I will not believe that I secretely am a dragon. Or that I will adopt one. I will not hope that I will someday grow wings and fly. I will stop to believe that there is magic in this world. I will stop to believe that true friendship is a blessing and a gift. I will stop to believe that love is more powerful than hatred. I will stop to have faith in the human kind. 2

Guest Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 At least, it IS epic. You do have a sense for epicness, I'll give you that.

gjustice99 she/her Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 (edited) I will be social and not be on 17th shard or reading during all of my free time. I will stop playing games on 17th shard (Guess the..., and 7 tropes of Brandon Sanderson). I will not get excited when I see that I start a new page on a thread. Patrick Star Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I will never get distracted while doing homework. Yeah, that'd be a terrible oath to... SQIRREL!!! 3
ChullRider he/him Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I will be considered a menace to society, even though I am not. I will live my the rest of my life reading Aristotle books without sleeping, eating, and drinking any type of liquid besides bottled poison. I will cry 5 times a day, each at a random point. I will have a cold every other week. I will be a jerk for the rest of my life and everyone will regard me as, "That guy who stole my cookie when I was but defenseless child who found him/herself in a dark dangerous alleyway where that guy forced me to give him a cookie."
The Great and Powerful Og Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I will stop pretending I have Stormlight or Mistborn abilities when no-one's watching. I will stop mentally lashing people to the ceiling. I will read the Twilight Saga, and watch all the Twilight movies. I will buy cookies from the dark alley. 3

The Great and Powerful Og Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 That's the best list I've seen so far. I applaud you. Thank you, kind sir. But imagine, actually having to read the Twilight Saga. *shivers* The very thought gives me nightmares.
