"No, don't stab people. THAT is a major taboo. And daggers still work as weapons, but the people here probably won't be very scared by them. If you want better weapons, then I can get them for you, but you have to promise not to kill anyone, OK?"

Zirn'rii zipped back up and twirled around Jay. Hey! You can fly too?? He asked excitedly, turning into a tiny dragon again. That's so awesome!!

Eliira walked behind the group, curiosity and anxiety roiling within her. She was eager to explore this place, but at the same time... she trembled slightly. A tavern meant people. And people meant...

Grow up. She told herself. You've got to put those memories behind. But... could she?

Jay blinked in surprise as Eliira’s magic friend popped into sight then, registering the words he grinned. “Oh yeah, it is the most awesome!!! Don’t tell my Za but…” leaning in conspiratorially toward the amber dragon, he continued “I think flying is my favourite ein’kaj enhancement. Oh dear!” He looked over to Eliira “ is your human okay? She seems really distressed! Is there anything I can do?”

Zirn'rii glanced over at Eliira, then shrugged his tiny shoulders. She's OK! A bit unstable, but aren't we all?

He giggled and twirled about on an invisible breeze, bursting into his long ribbon form.

Keys slowed down to meet up with Eliira. "Hey man, you don't look so great. Does your spirit feed off your suffering or something?."

Eliira's head jerked up, and she stared at Keys a moment before blinking. "What? No! I'm... fine." She said, loosening her grip on her satchel's handle. "Everything is... fine." She desperately searched for something else to talk about...

"Keys, what do you mean by my spirit feeding off of my suffering?" She finally asked, the voices silenced for a moment.

Keys understood that nothing about that was fine. "Well you always seem... downcast, and your spirit kinda isn't. I don't know much about ghosts or magic or whatever, but I do know about people." He didn't actually know if this was true, but decided to go with it.
"So, what's really going on, if it isn't too personal?"

"How long does it take to walk to a simple tavern, uh, Glena?" Rayvyn asked, bored. "Can I stab one of you, just to pass the time?"
