Kobold King he/him Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Voidus, does Purple Phoenix want his own pet?
Voidus Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Voidus, does Purple Phoenix want his own pet? I don't think he'd look a gift dinosaur in the mouth 2
Kobold King he/him Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) I don't think he'd look a gift dinosaur in the mouth Who would? Coelophysis alright? It's small, but PP could definitely acquire bigger and better dinos as time goes on. EDIT: Wrong picture. Edited August 13, 2014 by Kobold King
Voidus Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Something small and fast would probably suit him well, looks good to me!
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 Who would? Coelophysis alright? It's small, but PP could definitely acquire bigger and better dinos as time goes on. EDIT: Wrong picture. Does it look more like a Dragos or a Lorcan? I can't decide.
Kobold King he/him Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Does it look more like a Dragos or a Lorcan? I can't decide. That picture portrays Coelophysis as fuzzy, but there is substantial debate whether or not protofeathers had evolved in typical saurischians by the Late Triassic period... * notices a distinct lack of interest and shuts up * We'll let Voidus describe it however he likes.

The history and speculation on the dinosaurs is all well and good, but the more important question is: What color of bowler hat would our little Rocco Blaze look best in? 2
Voidus Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Oh definitely going for the feathered look if it's my choice, So I think that we've got some seriously epic (If you'll excuse the pun) beginings happening here, let the bowler brigade rule this city! 2
Kobold King he/him Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 The history and speculation on the dinosaurs is all well and good, but the more important question is: What color of bowler hat would our little Rocco Blaze look best in? Corn yellow, obviously-- I mean, how dare you defile my creations with your ridiculous bowler hats! 2
Voidus Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Hey! Bowler hats are awesome! I also just realized that my vision of PP is a mashup of Dumbledore and Cornelius Fudge :S 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 Corn yellow, obviously-- I mean, how dare you defile my creations with your ridiculous bowler hats! Lightwards seemed to like his hat just fine. As planned. 1
Voidus Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 You going next twi? I've been trying to get introductions over so PP can call everyone by name finally
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 Just did. Funtimes and Nathan will introduce themselves in a moment. She's a little….distracted.
Voidus Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Heads up Kobold I may need some future help pretending to know about dinosaurs PP was a medical engineer so he did a fair bit of undergrad work in biology and he was interested in dinosaurs as a hobbyist when he was little so I thought he might know a bit of what he was talking about, I however do not. :S
Mailliw73 he/him Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 The Sportsman's Warehouse plot is back on track. One casualty so far for TT.
Voidus Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Also I'm assuming our museum is about to fly up into the air? I'm considering knocking PP out and letting the Protector take over for a bit, thoughts?
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 Also I'm assuming our museum is about to fly up into the air? I'm considering knocking PP out and letting the Protector take over for a bit, thoughts? Why, yes, indeed it is. If you think he can pull it off without blowing his cover, go right ahead. I'd like to see this Protector.
Voidus Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 People might start getting a little suspicious, the Protector is the new personality and he's not used to dealing with people so he tends to refer to himself as a collective 'we'. But in this group a little quirkiness is to be expected no?

But in this group a little quirkiness is to be expected no? I don't call 'em the Wacko Brigade because they act like "normal" Epics, no. Hang on a second. Any of you who've seen "Return of Harmony" remember this clip? I just realized that's our group. The liar (Nathan, who's just pretending) The grump (Lightwards, before his resurrection rendered him somewhat cheery) The hoarder (Funtimes, who collects shiny things) And the brute (Nighthound, which is self-explanatory) Purple Phoenix can be the new Rainbow Dash. Voidus Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 As long as she stops collecting shiny pebbles moments before they explode Wooh, I'm a flying one, I'm still waiting for a Pegasus to show up in the cosmere, I'm hoping a Kandra becomes one eventually. 2

The key to being knowledgeable isn't necessary knowing your topic; rather, simply appearing to know more than your audience is quite often good enough.

In the words of Dwight Shrute: If your argument is weak, pound the table. And in the words of my grandfather: If you can't blind them with your brilliance, baffle them with your BS. 2
Kobold King he/him Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 I have... no idea what those mean :S as a bio student I probably should too Listen Very Carefully, a Lightwards x Paleontology story: Nathan woke up tied to a chair again. He began to fight off panic. Had he been discovered? Had his cover been blown? After a moment, he realized that his "fellow" Epics also were each tied to chairs. The room was dark, but a single ominous spotlight revealed Lightwards, completely untied, standing near a chalkboard wearing professor get-up. "Most days I am your ally," the necromancer said with a sneer. "Today, however, I am your professor. It seems that you imbeciles are completely incapable of telling the difference between saurischian and ornithischian dinosaurs. It's a wonder you've survived as long as you have without this crucial information. As we are now allies, I cannot stand you not knowing these things. So listen very carefully. "The words 'saurischian' and 'ornithiscian' come from the Greek language, and respectively mean 'lizard-hipped' and 'bird-hipped.' It is simple to explain where the names come from. The skeletal structure of a saurischian's hip is most similar to modern lizards, whereas the hips of ornithischians were strongly reminiscent of modern birds. All dinosaurs fell into either one category or the other. "I do not expect you cretins to learn how to recognize the different types of hip on sight. With the flesh and feathers covering them up now, it would be difficult anyway. So instead, I will teach you a rule of thumb. All predatory dinosaurs, such as Carnotaurus and Coelophysis, belonged to the saurischian or lizard-hipped group. The majority of herbivorous dinosaurs possessed bird-like hips, and thus fell into the ornithischian class. "This rule of thumb is not perfect--the largest herbivores, the enormous, long-necked sauropods such as Brachiosaurus, were lizard-hipped saurischians. But they were the exception that proves the rule." Lightwards glared at them, the frustration in his eyes shimmering with a hint of madness. "I hope you were paying attention. Next week we describe the difference between plesiosaurs, pliosaurs, and pterosaurs." Ahem. Their theme song, perhaps? In the words of Dwight Shrute: And in the words of my grandfather: That is definitely our new theme song. Your grandfather was a wise man. 2
