Well, he claims not guilty, and people don't get abnormally punished for pleading not guilty when they are, do they? I know they can get reduced sentences for pleading guilty. But is lying to a judge/court a charge that can be filed before he bears testimony? If he lies in testimony, I believe that is a crime, but... I'm not sure what the precedent on this is :P

@Kajsa :), do you know?

Elaborate please :D

You mean like if he lies in testimony then that is against the law but... wait is your question about pleading guilty or lying or both?

uh... both i think?

so if he lies in testimony, is that against the law?

And if he lies (pleads not guilty) but is guilty, can he get punished extra for that?

Whoa whoa whoa. We do innocent until proven guilty here.

My client is innocent up until the moment the jury decides otherwise and the judge hands down a verdict.

No, he can't. If he is guilty but is pleading not guilty, that's the reason for the trial. Actually a lot of criminal cases go like this:

Criminal is guilty but pleads not guilty, most lawyers KNOW the client is guilty but it's their job to fight for them and prove them not guilty. So no, he can't get punished extra for pleading not guilty.

I know that, this is all theoretical.

ok, that's what I thought, thanks for confirming.

I am not a witch but since you have brought forth no evidence that cant be explained by my IQ, I would say that either you put forth your evidence or the jury/judge/whoever is deciding this should decide

So, considering that you thought that this was a good idea, I don't know if your IQ can be an explanation. And also because the reason behind this was you misinterpreting a post about the podcast Intentionally Blank. But either way, PROSECUTING ATTORNEYS!!!! I SUMMON YOU!!!!!!!

@Aes Sedai @Kajsa :) (I don't remember if you are actually one or is Aes just said you were) @ANYONE ELSE YOU WANT. CALL YOUR WITNESSES!!!!!! PRESENT YOUR EVIDENCE!!!!!! Also, I have a friend that was with me when Noodles confessed, but he doesn't have an account, so I might give him my chromebook later to give testimony. Or we'll set up an account.

Oh, and is lying to the judge/jury while not giving testimony illegal?

You are not giving testimony, now is not your time to speak. Speak again before asked to, and I will have to have security escort you out until it is your turn.

(Even so, that is not what he said. It is close, but he's leaving out details. But i digress.)

You claimed to have posses witchcraft, and such would prove that you are a witch. Are you now denying that, therefore saying that we cannot trust your word?

Order in the court! Order in the court!

@Aes Sedai, call your witness! Noodles, be quiet unless called as a witness! @cheeseman, can you get your client under control? Just make sure that he doesn't hurt his case by talking before he is called as a witness and/or it's time for cross-examinations.

Witness testimonies will come before cross-examinations!

there is a very good chance I'm doing this wrong, I think this is the order that a court goes in though :P

cross-examinations will come after the witness testimony, which hasn't happened yet. I know there is at least one prosecuting witness.

I have had a great bad idea! I almost want to try it. Almost. I would share it, but maybe someone else would actually do it, so I guess I won't share it. But it would be funny.

Also, the other witness from when Noodles confessed has created an account. The username is @I'mNotNotARobot They can be summoned later to give testimony.

well technically whenever they're talking in court they're on the witness stand which means it's their testimony so yes

Also before we hold the trial I can go over the rest of the roles if you want

Actually, testimony is whatever the witness says while being questioned, direct or cross

If needed I can also explain things and make sure things are being done right.
