Kaladin's Vision of Dalinar in Oathbringer.

In Oathbringer, Kaladin sees a vision of Dalinar in danger when he touches the Rii Oracle's Invested sphere. This seems something akin to an Allomancer burning Duralumin plus Atium.

That got me thinking, maybe a gold or electrum Misting can see wholly into the Spiritual realm by burning their metal while in a Highstorm, or maybe while huddled inside a Perpendicularity, since the Spiritual realm would already be pretty close.

They can get there with Duralumin, and Duralumin can enhance other magics like surges, but it might take more to allow the allomancer to actually take in and use an external Investiture like that, since Allomancy flows straight from Preservation in the Spiritual Realm rather than tapping a Physical Realm source the way Surges or Awakening do.

What would a Hemalurgic spike granting atium do for an Allomancer already able to burn atium? Does it function similarly to bronze, granting enhanced atium-ing? Along this line of thought, would enhancing electrum burning via spike be of any advantage?

A spike of something you have would enhance your ability, giving your more strength. With atium, more strength makes for a minimal edge--the length you can push out the atium shadows. However, there's a certain breaking point where you kind of crack the whole system, peer straight into the [Spiritual Realm], and kind of have a "It's full of stars" moment.

Electrum could reach this same moment, potentially, though there's more interference to fight through. Extra strength in electrum isn't going to be terribly useful up to that point.

Footnote: In his original response Brandon mistakenly said burning atium and duralumin would cause the Allomancer to peer into the Cognitive Realm, rather than Spiritual Realm. He has since confirmed that this was a mistake.

This was on a lower level than D+A, as Eland was able to see the whole plan of Preservation and understood why he needed to die.

Keep in mind Scadrial is a low investiture world. And the reason why Kaladin saw the vision was because of the device. So most likely just being in the Highstorm or even in a Perpendicularity won't do it, but with duralumin it might help a bit.
