We have Taldain as the most prominent example, but now with Tress we know on Lumar at least it can recharge an Awakened tablet, and in SP4 the sun seems to be the source of Investiture on the world Nomad arrives in. It seems like this is a mechanism in Investiture that will be quite important in Era 4 Mistborn
HSuperLee Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 We shouldn't discuss SP4 openly in this topic, but I'm not sure that the tablet on Lumar is being magically recharged by the sun. It might just be a mechanical process, like how in the real world we have solar powered calculators and solar panels. That may contribute to maintaining its Awakening effect, but I don't know that we should assume a magical process. As for Taldain, there it seems that the star was intentionally invested by Autonomy, and thus I doubt that it is typical.
cometaryorbit Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 Yeah I think the tablet is likely just mundane solar power. It would be a perfect choice for tech that's going to be used long term on a low tech world.

While I agree the tablet being solar powered might just be mundane, we do know that Autonomy seems to be the most active in multiple systems so that could account for multiple stars being Invested by it as a possible MO.

Maybe the sun actually is invested in some way? One would think constantly dropping spores would take an energy source beyond the tiny bits of water that get sent up.
