Interestingly we have 3 examples of sunlight being a source of Investiture. We have Taldain as the most prominent example, but now with Tress we know on Lumar at least it can recharge an Awakened tablet, and in SP4 the sun seems to be the source of Investiture on the world Nomad arrives in. It seems like this is a mechanism in Investiture that will be quite important in Era 4 Mistborn

We shouldn't discuss SP4 openly in this topic, but I'm not sure that the tablet on Lumar is being magically recharged by the sun. It might just be a mechanical process, like how in the real world we have solar powered calculators and solar panels. That may contribute to maintaining its Awakening effect, but I don't know that we should assume a magical process. As for Taldain, there it seems that the star was intentionally invested by Autonomy, and thus I doubt that it is typical.

While I agree the tablet being solar powered might just be mundane, we do know that Autonomy seems to be the most active in multiple systems so that could account for multiple stars being Invested by it as a possible MO.

Well we have an unanswered question as to why the 12 moons are even on Lumar. Maybe the sun actually is invested in some way? One would think constantly dropping spores would take an energy source beyond the tiny bits of water that get sent up.

Is the sun invested, or does the sand react to the radiation of the normal sun?

Taldain’s sun is Invested. The sand color change reacts to Investiture, not sunlight specifically.
