Ishikk
The Bans supposedly let you have all Allomantic and Feruchemical abilities, so what would happen if you burned part of it? Any answers or theories? Edited January 9, 2023 by Ishikk

Any answers or theories? You could compound them allowing access to give many people the fullborn powers. Bummer they got drained before they could be compounded... If you burnt them and you were not storing into other metalminds at the same it would potentially end very very badly.
alder24
Compounding would happen. You get lot's of feruchemical attributes to use or store back in Bands. But don't burn nicrosil, you may break how the Bands work or something.

It would be a terrible waste if a leecher were to have touched them to.

Would you have infinite feruchemical abilities theoretically?

No, because Bands would have to get eaten and burned for it. So you would end up with no Bands.

KingSomthing
I had the same question. I'm reading the second tetralogy? for the first time, I'm almost done with Bands of Mourning.
IlstrawberrySeed
@KingSomthing, the correct term is second trilogy or second era. The greater mistborn series consists of the first trillogy, in era 1, 3 novellas (varying eras), a standalone in era 2 (AoL), and a trilogy in the second era (SoS - TLM)

There are 4 books in the second era though, right?

There is also secret history which takes place in the era 1 times but is intended to be read after BOM (i.e. in the middle of era 2 books) sice it contains spoilers for BOM. *Some people who don`t mind spoilers prefer to read secret history with era 1.

The first book is one, and the other books the other. The first book was written as a standalone, and then Brandon decided to right a trilogy that uses the same characters, that happens shortly after. So, the Mistborn series consists of 2 trillogies, a standalone, and 3 novellas, but only 2 eras.
