Drat.

Fadran waited for a second to ensure the man was gone, then jogged over to where he had last stood. "Icona, any residuals?"

Yes, but they're incredibly faint. I doubt they're traceable.

He cursed - not a habit from his usual vocabuly - and let out a breath.

"Cufre, how about you take your brother somewhere quiet for now?" He said.

"He's still all... frosted." Cufre reached to pick up his brother, and recoiled. "Wow, that's cold. Do you have gloves or something?"

Tacien sat down, dejected. As he did, the ice at his joints cracked and broke away, only to be resealed.

"I... depending on what kind of magic he used, I might be able to dispell it."

Cufre nodded. "Do you think he'll be able to teleport Tacien away like he did for himself?"

"I don't think it's impossible." Fadran lightly placed a hand against Tacien's forehead, trying to read the type of magic the frost used.

His hand is sealed with magical energy, so the frost shouldn't hurt or spread over him. He's also pretty good at reading - vaguelly - how other magic systems work.

As if in response, the frost began to gleam with blue light.

"No!" Cufre grabbed his brother in spite of the cold as the glow intensified.

“Icona.”

Done.

Fadran took a piece of paper and handed it to Tacien. “Hey, mind holding this for me?”

The boy grabbed the paper, shivering, ice on his knuckles cracking. The glow became brighter, and the air around Tacien chilled.

"What are you doing?" Cufre asked, desperate. "We need to stop this!"

“Contingency…” Fadran muttered, still trying to get a read on the magic.

The hand and the frost are both connected to an external power source that does things like power the hand or move the man to it. Because the frost is surrounding Tacien, he will be able to be pulled to it as well.

The frost expanded again, covering the paper in Tacien's hand, which he looked at, confused. Cufre sat down, horrified, and the temperature dropped and the glow strengthened. It would only be seconds now before the boy was taken.

Nath begins to chant.

Nath places a hand lightly on the boy's shoulder while muttering in a tongue long forgotten by time. A brief gold glow envelops the boy.

If I connected the boy to my mindscape and made him a part of my domain do you think he could still be pulled away by your magic?

In this case multiple things. 1) No matter where the boy goes Nath could sense his location. 2)His power partially suffused him giving him weakened versions of Nath's powers which includes traveling between realms. 3) Most importantly their souls are now connected via the power of the mindscapes themselves meaning that in theory he and the mindscape are interchangeable.

Here is where things get interesting. The soul connection basically makes the boy immortal and divine as Nath's soul spilled over onto his. That might in theory create magical interference of other magics. As far as interchangeable. He now exists as mindscapes do outside of time and the regular rules of physics.

Storms humans. This thread grows so fast it’s almost funny, except when you miss the creation of 5 new pages lol.

Rayvyn sat quietly through the entire exchange. Once or twice she looked like she wanted to say something, but she stopped herself.

Immortality, some durability, when well practiced the ability to travel across realms, and minor control of heat.

Okay. I'm going to say he still gets pulled away, but once he realizes what happens he'll be able to pick up the dimension stuff pretty fast because of infinite knowledge and all that.

In a final flash of light, the boy disappeared.

Cufre stared at the spot where he had been, dumbfounded. He turned to Nath. "What were you doing? Couldn't you have stopped it?"

Unperturbed Nath looks at Cufre.

"Perhaps. However, what I did was ensure that whoever took him will not be able to keep him for very long."

Nath whispers a couple of words that go to Fadran alone.

"I tethered him to my mindscape and my soul."

With that I'm out as it is very late here.

I have it both better and wirse than you; better - because I'm not a part of the main plot, though Galard was the first to meet Tacien (I think), or at least talk to him, worse - because of timezones.

Also, Nath is right, it's late and I probably should go to sleep. Good thing that my character mostly interacted with his...
