"Unfortunately it doesn't, though it would be way cooler if it did! Its just an album full of stamps, you know--the kind you mail stuff with, the collection belongs to a friend of mine and he misplaced it on a recent trip of his, so he sent me to go find it for him."

“Oh. Cool. Not as cool as magic paper it’s. But still cool.”

"I guess so, I'm trying to figure where it might have wound up, seeing as he isn't quite sure when or where on his trip he lost it." she said. "Making a list of the possible places it could be is the best way to start I think."

"Oh hey! what if you came with me? I could certainly use someone with your skillset, and who knows, you might start to figure out the who-am-I thing on the way!"

So do we know what specific island we're on? we're in the Orteo chain right? I need to know so I can plan where we're going

“Yes! Perfect! I’d love to!” Nayka cleared her throat, unable to dismiss her huge smile. “Cool.”

"Great!" Whist was happy she wouldn't have to continue her journey alone.

"What about you two?" she asked, turning to the other girls "want to come with?" She smiled broadly as if to say It'll be fuuun!!

"For me, yes." Hyron said, then gestured to the other two, "I'm not sure about them, though."

"I'm good," mumbled Yerik.

In the distance, footsteps approached. A few moments later, a group of people broke though the trees. They walked in sync, carrying baskets filled with some sort of fruit.

Stranger than any of that, however, was their eyes; grey and empty, they seemed utterly soulless.

The Second Elder's brow creased. "Gatherer!" she called. "What is the meaning of this?"

Ok. Here's the thing.

I was really active in building this RP, but I haven't actually made any meaningful contribution to the storyline. I wanted to join, but I had trouble finding a good opening.
As such, I'm making a new character to try to give myself a fresh start. I'd appreciate it if someone could make an opening in one of the storylines for me to join in. Thanks so much!

Spoiler

Name: MeSaan

Race: DeKan

Gender: Nonbinary, like all the best characters :P

Magic: Metal Forging

Personality, MeSaan is vengeful. They're a champion grudge holder, but believe in fighting for what's right. MeSaan is also a fierce protector. They often help outcasts. MeSaan knows how their people were driven from their home and wants to somehow reclaim it.

Backstory: MeSaan was raised in a small band of DeKan who wandered from place to place. They were often harassed by the inhabitants of the islands that they visited. MeSaan barely escaped from a raid on their camp. Soon, MeSaan discovered their affinity for Metal Forging and started with that as their career path.

MeSaan is around 5'6" and has a dusty brown carapace (insect, remember) and one of their antennae is partially cut. MeSaan wields two glaives as their weapons of choice.

Other: MeSaan's glaives, Moonspeaker and Sunsong, are enchanted with Metal Forging stuff. They should have developed sentience, but that's a thing that can't happen, evidently.

I have a storyline you could join! It's also close to Fiadh, Whist, and Nayka, so we could potentially join up.

Muffled cries sounded in the distance. At the end of the street came a man booking it in the opposite direction, as if fleeing.

I think that I'm going to do the inn thing. Hopefully, the storylines will converge soon.

MeSaan walked into the inn. They supposed that they looked pretty out of place with all of those two-armed humanoids around. Honestly, why would anyone evolve like that?
MeSaan looked around the inn. It looked like there was some group forming. Well, MeSaan doubted that those people would let them join. MeSaan walked to the counter and checked in.

Fiadh looks up. There's a promise of food. But what help could she possibly be? She barely knew how to take care of herself. "I- I don't know."

Miyako causally opened her waterskin. She was leaning against a wall in the cottage, facing the door. She eyed the strangers, noting the eyes, the perfect sync. Something was brewing and Miyako was going to be ready.

A young man with wild hair and tattered shoes burst from the forest grinning. "Mother!" he called.

"Answer my question, Gatherer," snapped the Second Elder. "Why have you brought the Nameless here? The harvest is in two weeks! We need every hand we have on the vines."

"Relax," replied Gatherer, still grinning. "It's not like I cleared the fields. We just had a few pebblefruit come in early is all, and I figured why not come take a visit?"

The Second Elder raised an eyebrow. Gatherer let out a short sound that was probably a chuckle. "You always see right through me, don't you?" His tone grew more serious as he lowered his voice. "To tell the truth... I spotted something. A shipwreck."

" I know," interjected the Second Elder, causing Gatherer to raise his eyebrows in surprise. "Survivors arrived here not half an hour ago." She stepped aside, gesturing to the three behind her.

Being around Nayka would be great. "I-" Maybe it wouldn't be bad. And if it was Fiadh would just sneak away, it wouldn't be too hard. "Okay, I'll go."
