Quest's face lit up. Vance wasn't crazy. He had worried for a second.

Here the witch was asking for a sacrifice from people that had been trespassing on her grounds. They had broken her door and poorly attempted to deceive her; such indecency. Honestly, people these days. This was why she lived in the woods alone.

"Step into the sacrifice circle", the witch said, pointing at a large circle at the middle of the room, "very carefully. I more then within my right to use force at this point." She had her book open and her lantern burning strong.

After two hours of cycling Miyako ended her workout with a soft sheen of sheet, breathing hard. Satisfied.

Hyron seemed to be over on the other side of ship doing something. She would talk to him later, but right now she just wanted to find Yerik and figure out where her room or hammock was. She walked around looking for the acolyte.

Yerik was concentrating on a rock in front of him, keeping it floating in midair. It wavered then dropped to the floor as Miyako approached. Yerik sighed, then brightened slightly when he saw Miyako.

"How are you enjoying the ride so far?" he asked.

No, NO, NO, NO, "NO, NO, NO! NEVER AGAIN!"

Anikel made a jerking motion for Terakor to check the newly dug hole, keeping his eyes fixated on the growling Wanderer.

Terakor swallowed and stepped up, glancing down into the hole. Deep within, a flash of red. He sucked in a breath.

"It's fine. Just been staying sharp." Miyako replied. "Where's my room?"

"Back of the ship," replied Yerik. "There are a bunch of empty rooms- feel free to claim one of them. But- wait!" he called after Miyako. "Do you think you could help me with something?"

Miyako had started to walk away, but turned back regarding him.

"What?"

"What."

"Fighting! I need to practice my shielding. At the moment all I can do is a full body shield-" His voice cut off abruptly, though his mouth continued to move. Eventually, he took the shield down, and his voice resumed. "Oh, right. Yeah, the sound thing. That's another downside, I suppose, besides the whole power thing. Anyways." He coughed. "I want to practice smaller shields!"

"Sure. Do I just start attacking?" Miyako asked, suddenly interested.

"Uh... yeah! Sword or magic, which do you think would be better?"

Miyako shrugged and opened her waterskin.

"I've already practiced sword forms today. Let's mix it up."

"Uh... how sharp is it?" inquired Yerik, raising his hands and beginning to concentrate.

“Yeah, uhh… about that.”

Vance brought his knives out and shrugged apologetically.

“You know. ‘Can’t let you finish my story just yet’ and all that.”

Terakor reached in, laying flat down on the ground so he could grasp the red rock in his fingers. He pulled it out and stood up, holding it in his palm. It was about the size of his hand- no larger.

Miyako turned her head thinking, "I've always made it sharp but I guess I can dull it." She shrugged. "Ya ready?"

The witch muttered to herself as the portals around the room began to turn into red panes. Various monsters and horrors reached out towards Vance.

“Lesson number one!” Vance announced. He began condensing the wind about his blade. “Always set the battlefield to your own advantage.”

Hands, claws, fangs, and various eldritch stenches reached towards him.

“I have done not that,” he explained, watching the monsters warily, “to show you just how important that is.”

A stream of water whipped out of Miyako's waterskin, slashing towards Yerik. She stood there smiling.

Yerik felt the power of the stone around his neck course through him. Earth. Darkness. It was in the nature of both to stand still. He drew upon that power, that nature, and commanded the water to stop in its tracks.

It slowed down slightly as it crashed directly into him.

Quest began to pull out his notebook before he realized this was not the time to write stuff down. He considered summoning fire but it seemed like Vance knew what he was doing.

Miyako didn't laugh. That would be rude. She was however extremely amused.

"Are you still in one piece?" Miyako asked Yerik. "You up for this?"

The pool of water at Yerik's feet flowed together and streamed back to Miyako. It struck at Yerik again, noticeably softer than the first attack.
