The Isochronism he/him Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 There needs to be a topic for this. Tell us what you think of the show! I personally am tentatively optimistic. I like some of the characters, and I love the old guy, and Andor's brother. (Is it his brother? the other construction worker guy.) I've enjoyed it though, unlike Kenobi and Book of Boba Fett. (Sorry to those of you who love those shows.) Also, am I the only one who spent the first two episodes thinking that Andor was a planet, not a person? 1
Spren of Kindness she/her Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 I'm really liking it so far - I think the script is pretty good, the music and costumes are great, and the characters so far have been pretty interesting. Also, I really like the fact that it's more grounded and gritty. I was actually worried about that, but it's turned out good so far. It's a new genre for Star Wars, and I'm here for it. Costuming particularly - every planet we've seen so far has a different color palette and base designs that really make it feel like there's a bunch of different cultures out here that still have some degree of separation despite galactic interconnectedness, which I think is great! Brasso, the other construction worker guy is just a friend of Cassian's, I think. 1
ThroughTheLivingSequence she/her/they/them Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Did anybody else recognize the insignia on the uniforms of the yellow guys in the crashed ship in Cassian's flashbacks?
Channelknight Fadran Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 Watched up to Ep. 3. That's the only one imma talk about. Spoiler WOW.

Channelknight Fadran Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Dude. It was so good. How did it get even better.
Channelknight Fadran Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 Completely caught up now. I can't stop smiling. I could die a happy man if I finished this series first. It's going to be TWELVE EPISODES??? We're only six in!

I'm at ep. 3 and Spoiler the writing is great so far, the characters are great. I totally think the guy who died in ep 3 who was what's her face's boyfriend is the perfect guy to play Briggan in Lux.
Spren of Kindness she/her Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 So, episode nine... My dad gave the best quote - 'Syril's cheese is sliding off the cracker'. Spoiler And it really is. That man is going off the deep end. He and Vel are on my 'gonna die' list, though for different reasons. But Mr. Karn isn't going to let Cassian go, and we already know Cassian survives. I really don't think he's going to make it, though when he goes, who knows? Could be next season. But if he doesn't end up in a gunfight with Cassian, the ISB's going to off him for throwing a spanner in the works with his single-minded pursuit. I like that they flipped the structure for this episode - This should have been the end of the arc, going by the previous pattern, but it's not, which I think makes the prison sequences even better, because there's no end. Mulk he/him Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 I haven't watched the tenth episode yet, but everything through nine has been something else. 1
The Isochronism he/him Posted November 10, 2022 Author Posted November 10, 2022 I loved episode 9. But episode 10 had me wanting to cheer in a way Star Wars hasn't in a LONG time. It was so, so, so good. Spoiler The cheer of "one way out" is still ringing in my head. I also loved the conversation between the spy and the old guy about how he sacrificed everything. I love that guy, and I hate that guy, and it's so well done. I loved the feeling of hope when the prisoners finally escape the hopelessness of the prison. This whole show has felt hopeless, yet finally we have something to root for. I still wish they'd give Cassian something to care for, because right now he doesn't seem to care about anything, but I am loving the show. I also love the old prison guy (Sorry guys, I don't know anyone's name.) After how good number 9 was, I wasn't sure they'd get better. But they have, and I love it.
Channelknight Fadran Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 I fell behind a little because I have a job to work now. Watched up through Ep. 8 just tonight and by the gods - this series is a masterclass in everything
Philomath she/her Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 This just might be the best thing I have watched in a very long time. I am generally not too picky about my entertainment. I don’t need things to be deep or nearly perfect to enjoy them. But this is just on a whole different level. I am on the edge of my seat for the entirety of every episode. The character development is absolutely incredible. What they were able to do in just a few episodes with Andy Serkis’ character was just wow. He and Stellan Skaarsgard have delivered incredible performances in this. And really, so is everyone. I think I am gushing now, but I really am just very impressed with how this show is going. 1
Thaidakar the Ghostblood he/him Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Spoiler ONE WAY OUT ONE WAY OUT ONE WAY OUT ONE WAY OUT!!!!
Spren of Kindness she/her Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 (edited) Episode ten had me shaking for about half the runtime, I was so tense. I was fully expecting more casualties. Gosh, I'm excited for the next two episodes. Spoiler Syril didn't appear in this episode, but my father remarked that 'Deedra could snap him like a twig if she wanted' which... yeah. But you know. Too much paperwork to do that right outside the workplace. Edited November 12, 2022 by Spren of Kindness
Channelknight Fadran Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 All caught up now last episode premieres on the 23rd: two days By golly I can't wait
Spren of Kindness she/her Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 I'm probably going to get to watch on Wednesday night for once because of how my life shook out, and I'm so excited! I'm hoping that the finale will be longer than the usual runtime. I think this is the most I've been invested in a television show ever, maybe for visual media as a whole, though Top Gun: Maverick and Dune are in the running for that. Ep 11 spoilers: Spoiler RIP Maarva. I knew it was coming, but dang it, that hurt. And B, as well. I think I recollect that B is on set as a puppet, so kudos to whoever's running him for getting his emotions across so clearly in the puppeteering! You know, it would be really neat if there was a DVD of this series, I like having a physical copy, and I'm definitely going to rewatch this at some point.
Channelknight Fadran Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 Well that was the best TV series to ever exist in the history of media. 2

You can say that again. Spoiler That funeral march... Wow. I thought the episode three scene was tense, when everyone was hitting noise makers and it was all dissonant and chaotic. But this? It was organized, it went together, and it took it's time. I loved how long that scene stretched out for, it really heightened the tension in the right way. 1
The Isochronism he/him Posted November 25, 2022 Author Posted November 25, 2022 Yep that was great. Really looking forward to season 2.

Agreed. And Fiona Shaw goes on the list with the two from episode 10 of fantastic performances. Honestly, every person in this show acted it so well. It really was just phenomenal.
Thaidakar the Ghostblood he/him Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 This show was just so storming good Episode twelve was insane. tho Spoiler Syril and Dedra xD Syril is just so so so cringe. the man lol. But yeah, the soundtrack is amazing.
The Bookwyrm he/him Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 I'm late to the party. This was incredible. That's about all I have time for. Episode 12 spoilers Spoiler The after credits scene was cool and answered the question I had from the moment they got started on Narkina 5!
Channelknight Fadran Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 Questions for the completers: which arc was your favorite? Spoiler Mine was the Raid on Aldhani. I always love me a good heist, and that was probably the best heist ever written.
