We've seen that Kelsier's spirit is stapled to his body via the Hemalurgic spike in his eye.

In Bands of Mourning, we learned that the Sovereign, who they confused as being the Lord Ruler, came after the Catacendre. [He] was their god, was their king and god. And then Kelsier looking for a string. Is the spike somehow connecting Kelsier's soul to Spook's body.

Brandon Sanderson

No, good question. It is connecting his soul with his body, his current body, but it is not Spook's body. That's a great theory.

So, could it be possible to take a Shade and staple it to a body, such as a Lifeless, to potentially bring back to life the person who was killed?

I think that should be possible but the Lifeless still retains some Identity especially from the breath. Also what would be the effects of Ichor Alcohol be on a living human? I think that is what Kelsier is. So it would have to be a fresh lifeless. But what if you stapled the Shade to it's own body I think that would be much more successful.

I think Lifeless and Shades have the same issue of too little Investiture, so I think you need to enhance the Shade back up to functional sapience before it would be able to support and control a physical body.

I think that if we tried to resurrect a Shade via hemalurgy, it would not be a good idea. I mean, you are basically forcing a (more or less) corrupted ghost inside a body. I don't know if the body would help the Shade to return to its original Identity and self.

If we talk about putting a Shade inside a Lifeless, I see two options: One, the Shade and the Breath don't mix up, and they act separately (like the Shade trying to overrun the Lifeless' comands) or two, they do mix, and the body is now in control of the body, with influence (perhaps Identity or just personality) of the Breath and the body.

I realize that Shades do have a physical body so could you spike a Shade and use that spike? I wonder what effect that would have.

To function, Hemalurgy needs two beings with blood, because of the conection of blood with the Spiritual Realm (or something along those lines, but blood is necessary).

Still, if someone knew what they were doing, they could probably spike a Shade.
