+Child of Hodor Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 Early in Alloy of Law it was established that Wax's wife, uncle and sister were all dead. None of them were dead and all of them showed up as antagonist in one of the first three books. Gotta have one more to complete the Set Wax had parents (obviously) and a Grandmother, Vwafendal, who we met in BoM prologue. I'll go with Vwafendal because we met her and she lives in the Terris village that, much like the Set, has been obsessing over magical bloodlines in hopes of producing magic-users. The Village is focused on Feruchemists than the Set, but it's still an interesting parallel. Plus the Village has nothing but disdain for the outsiders in surrounding Luthadel. I could see someone like her working within the Set to take down Luthadel's government. 1
Returned he/him Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 Interesting question! I don't think that Vwafendal would work with the Set. Their goals are to generate and harvest Allomantic power to grant to the most well-connected. Vwafendal is focused very strongly on the Terris people and their legacy of Feruchemy, which is not something she would probably want just anyone to be able to steal and have-- they belong to the Terris people. I do think that Vwafendel will be a big factor in Lost Metal though. With the Southern medallion technology in evidence she will see a way to increase the Terris' power and influence specifically through the power their heritage grants, and a way that the Terris community can control completely. The technology may even be helpful in their goal of expanding Feruchemical power in her people. I think that those are very likely to bring them into direct conflict with the Set, which will want that power and control for itself alone. I have to assume that there will be dissent among the other Terris people though, especially those looking for a quick route to wealth and influence. 2

Mr. Misting he/him Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 If were going with dead relatives Spook technically counts. He could maybe show up, since he might be alive. I seriously doubt it but hey, it would be a very cool twist to have the Lord Mistborn show up. 3

Somewhere someone said basically everyone in the basin is descended from him. I think that would include the Ladrian line.

In Alloy Of Law the Vanishers are said to kidnapp women descended from Spook - that means that there is still a distinction between people who are his descendents and those who are not. In addition in Shadows Of Self Aradel is said to have no nobles in his anscestry which means he is not descended from spook. 1
Cosmerenomics Enthusiest. Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 I kinda want to go back to Vwafendal it seems like she is the kind of person that could be manipulated easily if she thought she was doing it for the good of the Terris. Since Wax is very far from her favor and Telsin stayed in the village she most likely would trust her when she offered a way for the Terris to gain power and influence (and possibly a way to gain influence over the overbearing Elendel (I mean we all know at least a near rebellion is coming)) and would be overjoyed that one of her grandchildren had finally chosen to rejoin the Terris.
