Using Fabrials for transhumanism

Hi,I'm not exactly a cosmere expert so what I might have overlook an important piece of information but I was thinking about implementing fabrials directly into a human body the other day.

Basically my idea was to implement the design of the emotion bracelet unto the back of some guy but using brass as an encasing. So it would let him control his different emotions. But to do that the system would need to connect to his neural system,so I thought that it was impossible.

 

Then I remembered a specific aspect of the emperor's soul, resealing. Resealer's are described as highly knowledgeable of the human body,and we also know that it extend to the brain because they manage to fix the head of a guy who got a shot in the head.

 

So here's my question,could a resealer with the right fabrials create fabrial enhanced humans without having to take oaths?

(PS:I'm sorry if some parts aren't clear,while I can read English I still have trouble with actually writing it ^^)

Welcome to the 17th Shard!

I think that a Resealer would need to know the specifics of Fabrials before they could consider augmenting the human body with them, but assuming that they had an extensive enough knowledge of both Fabrials and Resealing, I bet that what you suggest would be possible, although you would face many of the same problems that we do in real life with implants and human augmentation. It would likely be a little easier, since Investiture is involved, but it would still be well beyond what modern Roshar or Sel is capable of right now.

Maybe we'll see this in the future of those worlds though. 

(Also, just want to mention that the Cosmere Q&A may be a better forum to ask future questions, as most people who want to do that will be looking there for that opportunity.)

I would imagine anything is possible - I think seeing different types of Cosmere cyborgs would be cool, and this would make it at least three hypothetical types. If it just involves Fabrials and a resealer, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Nice idea  (though I don't think I'd want to be one  it would be interesting seeing how the spren interact with being inside a Fabrial that is someone's body, especially if the Fabrial starts to be seen as a part of them).

That's part of why this idea interested me so much,as far as I know there is nothing like it. And I would really love to see something like that get explored in one of the later cosmere books.

 

And in the end if nothing like that happens I will definitely milk that idea to death in every ttrpg I dm lol.

Couldn't it be argued that this is basically what gemhearts are already? They're basically biological cybernetics that allow for a mutualistic symbiotic relationship with spren. And yes, I know biological cybernetics can just be called "organs" I'm trying to make a point here. As far as I can tell, you're basically just asking if creatures can be given artificial gemhearts, and I really don't see why not.

In my mind, this is basically a form of Hemalurgy, but instead of spiking yourselves with spikes from humans(or etc) you are using spren to do so.
