What happens if someone sits around in a Perpendicularity for an extended period of time? Would it begin to expand and permeate them as it did Kelsier when he sat in the Well of Ascension? What if it is a Perpendicularity that holds investiture that the person isn’t Connected to? For example, if a Scadrian traveled over to Patji and soaked in that Perpendicularity, would it have a different effect for them than soaking in Harmony’s Perpendicularity? Would you eventually become Connected to the investiture by virtue of you Spiritweb being familiar with it?

The only time we've seen this happen to a living person, they appeared to dissolve but actually Worldhopped and eventually settled in a lighthouse.  It might actually be difficult to stall that process and just soak in it.

I thought that in order to go through a Perpendicularity that you had to intend to do so. So even if you decided to soak in one you wouldn't just automatically go through. Unless if you decide to not go through you get ejected somehow, but I don't think we've seen any evidence of that.

It could totally be that way though, as we've seen little evidence to suggest otherwise, or if you stay in a Perpendicularity too long it sort of "guides" you, and makes you travel to the cognitive realm without you consent.

I have a feeling it would depend highly on both the person and the Perpendicularity. Though whether being native to the same world as the Perpendicularity would heighten or lessen the effect I cannot say. But I definitely think having a Shardpool hot-tub would do something over enough time.

The only reason that would have happened is because of the amount of raw investiture in the cognitive there that would vaporize people.

Except it apparently didn't.  The guy Intended to die, but somehow made it through the Dor and safely to Roshar instead.

He intended to Die, but I suppose that could be pretty close to "Travel onward" and be the trigger for the worldhop.

Sounds kind of dangerous.  Might have effects similar to savantism but without many of the benefits.  Do it too long and you probably become addicted and can't leave.

We don't know that he intended to die. He might have wanted to escape the physical realm into the Dor, where his elantrian status would allow him to survive (maybe). Or maybe you're right and he got lucky.
