  1. SP1 feels like it's very far in the future, as the Iriali have left there 300 years ago, but did have a significant enough population for Tress to know about them. As SP1 is definitely after SA first half, and after Mistborn era 2 (where the Iriali also might appear), this means the Iriali would have been there probably at least 400 years before SP1. With the pace things are developing (and also, I feel like the Malwish would develop tech much, much faster, as seen in era 2) spaceflight will likely be possible much before that, especially when different worlds start to interact and different magic systems start synergizing
  2. So Zellion has managed to deactivate the part of his Torment that forbids hurting other people physically, and proceeds to rough up some Charred. We know someone else with a similar Torment, a lot of magical abilities (at least being a full Mistborn, a Knight Radiant and an Elantrian, although maybe not all at the same time) and some martial prowess (being able to beat Kelsier into a pulp). Do we think Hoid is going to manage to remove his own Torment in a way? Will Zellion tell him how to? What will happen when he does?
  3. The downside to having Shards be named after normal concepts is that it's easy to get confused. I don't think the mercy killing one is referencing capital M Mercy. Mercy-killing is just too common of a phrase. The Whimsy bit though, might just reference Whimsy themselves, and I am really looking forward to more Whimsy
  4. Do you remember when? Because Aux also mentions the Dawnshard killed him
  5. I think I remember Nomad asking Aux if he thought the sun was invested "just like Taldain's", which implies it's not common for suns to be invested, but that it does happen, as Nomad has seen quite a bit of worlds, and on every world has at least figured out enough of the magic system to get to Skip capacity
  6. Oh that's interesting, definitely something to ask Brandon at the next Q&A where Sunlit Man spoilers are allowed
  7. Roshar the planet might always have existed, but we do know that Adonalsium shaped the landmass Roshar themselves, at least according to this WoB
  8. The one from the kickstarter does look a lot like the art in the novel, specifically the artpiece where Zellion flies with a Skybreaker glyph in the background. That looks almost exactly like the concept art for Zellion in the kickstarter
  9. I saw on the Coppermind (don't remember it in the book) that it's because the Dawnshard Connects you to the entire cosmere, which allows it. That shouldn't be brute-forcable, as it requires a mechanic that's notoriously difficult to get around, at least before space age cosmere standards (the ghostbloods and heralds both haven't figured it out, and at least the heralds have had quite a while)
  10. I went back to find the bit I was talking about, and it does seem to matter that Zellion isn't a radiant. This seems to imply that the Radiants aren't free (although that could be from the spren) and are inherently part of the conflicts. After that he mentions he has a Blade, which would be a dead blade, thus admitting he's packing a bazooka in his soul, and then they offer to hire him as a mercenary (in a very presumptuous way, I might add).
  11. So we know that Rysn's dawnshard is Change. In this book we find out more about Hoid and Sigzil's dawnshard, which seems to be Create or something like Preserve/Protect (as it is opposed to the idea of destruction and violence). What could be Rysn's Torment? And what shards could fit under each Dawnshard, as it is certainly implied at times that the intents of shards and dawnshards are related
  12. I think it was mentioned that Skipping as an ability is a side-effect of being a holder/ex-holder of a Dawnshard, just like his Torment. Nomad mentions that he doesn't want to risk losing skipping by lessening his Torment too much.
  13. We see that there are multiple factions in this big cosmere-wide war, but what stood out to me is that the Scadrians were initially wary of Nomad being a radiant, or oathed, but not that much when they found out he was just a Rosharan. To me this implies that the Radiants are, at least mostly, on one side of the war. Could this mean that Odium gets his way, and gets to lead the radiants in the war against the rest of the cosmere? This might even be a cool second SA arc, where we see characters we know trying to both obey (as they have to, due to their oaths, in order not to kill their spren), and also not cause too much harm as unwilling participants in the war. There might even be some characters we know and love who ended their oaths to not participate in this, causing a second recreance (this might be how Nomad loses his windrunner spren).
  14. What was the Fainlife from again? As in, what unpublished novel?
  15. That's for sure. And it's pretty cool, in my opinion. I thought it was a bird, until I saw the things below the purple spots, but I suppose it could just be an Aviar yeah
  16. In the new art released by Brotherwise Games for the upcoming Call to Adventure version/expansion based on Stormlight Archive, Hoid is depicted, along with numerous symbols and illusions. Note the cosmere symbol, the Harmony symbol with a Mistborn below it, Nightblood, Wandersail, the aon Aon between the two, the Girl who looked up, Frost, Roshar, the symbol for the Drominad system, and some rabbit/fox looking thing. My question is, what do you people think the rabbit/fox thing is. I thought it was something from either Threnody or Taldain, but I couldn't figure it out. I'm hoping you guys can.
  17. And right after posting, progress bar update. Mistborn screenplay was added and is 10% completed.
  18. I did not know how to do it, I had to catch my metro back, so I only got mine, which I messed up by making it too broad. Paraphrased: "Did Hoid lose anything or anyone else because of the Shattering?" "Yes, but a lot happened because of the Shattering."
  19. Thanks! Would you recommend writing it in the book or on a seperate piece of paper? Basically, what's the most convenient for Brandon
  20. I'm going to Paris signing tuesday. How do you get a question answered in the book? Do you write it down in the book or on a piece of paper, or just ask him to write it down?
  21. Wasn't Shallan really good at drawing at a young age as well?
  22. Ashyn was as far as we know destroyed by the humans and possibly their use of Investiture and Surgebinding. If It was fully Investiture-based, Sel might notice something similar happening to it, and want to put an end to it.
  23. Granted, but it's leghair. I wish for Brandon doing a European tour.
  24. Parshendi are very limited in how they shape-shift though. The Returned however.....
  25. Okay so, time for my first real crackpot theory. We know, from the AU essays that Sel has been gaining a bit of sapience. What if the planet Sel itself caused the Reod, being unhappy with the Elantrians, and the way they were using their power? It would give the Reod more cosmere significance, and it would be interesting, compared to the few things we know about the humans who left Ashyn. As a planet, I could understand Sel not wanting to have something happen to it, and it might have intervened.
