Sequence, occasionally known as Narrator Sequence and historically known as  Gray , was a former Narrator on The Longest Thread, and a figure of wisdom, peace, and joy, nearly always maintaining a positive and upbeat attitude, and always willing to help out those who need it. Alternatively, she could be very formidable and quite powerful when provoked. Some of the chaotic energy from her distant past could resurface at times. As far as she, or anyone else knows, she was the oldest Narrator on the Thread at the time of her death.

She appeared as a human, relatively tall, standing just above average at a little over two meters. She had tan skin and curly auburn hair reaching just past her shoulders, complimented by mirthful brown eyes. She most often wore a white button-up shirt with an open brown leather vest and a long calf-length dress with tall black leather boots, though was known to wear a multitude of outfits. She resided on her personal planet, aptly named 'Sequence's World', a beautiful and serene planet located in a remote and exotic fiber of the Thread, until it was taken over by Ivisyre. While she was there, she had a strict rule outlawing violence or conflict of any kind on the planet, and was more than able and willing to enforce it with her great Narrative power.

Coming to existence as a being of great chaos and anger in a far off land at a far off time, Sequence was originally a part of a being known as the Irrational Sequence. Eventually, due to the actions of those she terrorized, she was split into four pieces. The largest piece retained most of her power, and eventually would become the Sequence that we all know today! The other three pieces stayed as Sequence's friends and assistants. Soon thereafter, she became a full Narrator upon appearing to the rest of the Thread on page 1513. Since then, she embarked on many adventures. She befriended fellow Narrators Nameless, Thaidakar, and the Bookwyrm, as well as a great hero known as Ookla the Unintelligible, an unknowingly special girl called Gail, an adventurous hero named Nogard, and the one and only, Bacon the Bard! Throughout her history, she was temporarily corrupted into a horrible wither-infused Narratorgeist, subsequently uncorrupted and trapped in a prison for 200 pages, attempted to resurrect her good friend Thaidakar, forced to protect her friends from one of her splinters turned evil, created a beautiful planet to act as her home and safe haven for all who need it, been challenged in a great trial for which she received the Plotblade of Conflict, thrown a lovely party to celebrate the Thread's 3,000th page, and more. Said party was crashed by Ivisyre, who then dueled Sequence. Sequence won, but was gravely wounded. The wound, inflicted by Inversion, would not heal and severely weakened her. She died from that same wound after her Narrative ability was stolen by Ivisyre.

Spoiler

Sequence started in a far off, strange, and unknown corner of the Thread. She was at that point part of something of a "neighborhood villain", a chaotic entity feeding off of the discord of society to fuel its destructive power and preying on small civilizations in the vicinity. This being was known as the Irrational Sequence. For an unknown amount of time, it wreaked havoc on a long lost civilization to the point of driving them to near extinction. In their darkest hour, they came together to devise a plan. Through unknown means, they were able to split the Irrational Sequence into two parts. One of them, designated  Gray , was much more stable, containing only a small fraction of the original destructive rage and power. This piece attempted to atone for its heinous acts, and soon departed this area of the Thread to become the Sequence that we all know today! The other piece held the rest of the destructive energy, and was still quite dangerous, so it was split into three further pieces. Those three pieces were designated  Gold ,  Sapphire and  Crimson , later respectively named Fuzzy, Cardinal, and Everyone and remaining close friends and assistants to Sequence.

She formally became a Narrator upon first appearing to others on the main Thread on page 1513. On page 1516, only three pages later, she embarked on her first quest! That quest was aiding the newly created Ookla The Unintelligible on his quest to save another Narrator known as Nameless. The two became friends.

Throughout the next sixteen-hundred pages or so, she embarked on a number of journeys. At a time when she was very naive and quite unskilled with her Narrative abilities, she was involved in a largescale battle with the forces of the dark being known as the Witherlord in a place known as the Gearverse. She was defeated by soldiers of the Witherlord, and transformed into an unholy Withergeist-Narrator amalgamation. Under the control of the Witherlord and at odds with several prominent Narrators of the Thread, she killed thousands and destroyed cities. Eventually, a Narrator known as Thaidakar saved her, unbinding the Withergeist from her soul and granting her freedom. However, the Witherlord managed to hold her captive until she agreed to bond the Withergeist once again, trapping her in a prison of unending agony. Determined not to give in, she managed to hold steadfast for almost 200 pages. Eventually, she was rescued by her close friend Unintelligible, who was aided by Narrator Thaidakar, Rep, Soulmover, Thom, and 655. Sometime prior to this, Everyone, one of the splinters of the Irrational Sequence, made a reappearance.

She continued to engage in the Thread after this, creating Sequence's World in a hidden part of the Thread at some point during this time. Other minor occurrences happened, such as Sequence's involvement in an attempt to resurrect her close friend and fellow Narrator, Thaidakar. Eventually, upon being able to say goodbye one last time, she accepted his death. She also had to defend her friend Unintelligible from Everyone, as for unknown reasons, they were set on murdering him. It was discovered that part of Everyone's soul makeup was inherent irrationality, which led them to fear Unintelligible. Sequence employed the help of Fuzzy to grant Everyone with some empathy, leading them to abandon their quest to murder Unintelligible.

Sequence embarked on a quest to the dangerous realm known as Unreal Space. It was there that she met the brave adventurer, whom, unbeknownst to her at the time, was actually the former Narrator Nameless. On this quest, Sequence participated in a grand trial held by the mysterious figure Onyx, who, upon Sequence's victory, granted her one of the elusive and powerful Plotblades. This Plotblade was known as Conflict, which had the ability to grow in power and capability to match, mirror, or in some cases counter the power of its opponent. It was on this same quest that Sequence achieved her Narrationblade, a powerful weapon achievable to Narrators, which can take any form or purpose desired.

Some time after, Sequence visited the Dreamsmith, who forged a weapon for her. That weapon was a sentient knife on an invisible and only partially real chain, which was snow-white and accented with cyan patterns and a gemstone inset in the flat of the blade. The knife came to be known as Willow.

After a lengthy period of little involvement in the Thread's affairs, Sequence returned, introducing herself to the Thread's newcomers and making an effort to understand the new conflicts that had arisen. She most notably made friends with Nogard, Gail, and Bacon the Bard.

On the momentous page 3,000, Sequence invited all inhabitants of the Thread to a party on her world, which was to be an occasion of joy, peace, and celebration. A staggering amount of people arrived, and Sequence made an earnest effort to meet and learn about all of them. At the tail end of this party, Sequence's most troublesome splinter, Everyone, began to get up to no good. Sequence quickly evacuated her guests, and faced down Everyone, who's motives were, and always are, unknown. In the following events, both Fuzzy and Cardinal perished from a sickness induced by Everyone's dark influence on Sequence's World. Everyone informed Sequence that they have changed their name to Ivisyre, and the two proceeded to fight. Despite sustaining dire wounds, Sequence eventually defeated Ivisyre. Due to her remaining tender feelings towards them, Sequence couldn't bring herself to kill Ivisyre, instead sparing them under the condition that they never returned to the main fibers of the Thread. She created Aelinor shortly after, her first and only avatar.

The wound she sustained from Ivisyre, inflicted by their Dreamsmithed blade Inversion, refused to heal and rendered Sequence extremely weak. For a bit over a thousand pages, she walked with a cane and spent a lot of time resting on her world. During that time, Ookla the Unintelligible searched for a cure to Sequence's ailment.

Around page 4,229, Sequence decided to throw another party. Just for fun. She once again invited everybody, and lots of people showed up! It was a nice occasion, and it lasted for a while. However, despite Sequence's warnings, Ivisyre returned. With the help of Ryver, Ivisyre was able to rebuild the Cuberian Cell, the power duplication device that they had commissioned from Calano, which would help Ivisyre heal and regain their lost power. Ivisyre then asked for help gaining access to Sequence's World. Ryver accepted, with the plan to betray Ivisyre and foil their plan. He quickly sought out Sequence and warned her of the danger. Sequence promptly ended the party and bade her guests farewell once she got wind of the plan. Crippled from her first fight with Ivisyre, she knew that she would not survive another fight. After a discussion with Unintelligible and Ryver, she reluctantly accepted their help, and the group began to prepare, receiving additional assistance from Cadewyn and his dragon companion, Eepy. Their plan was to let Ivisyre in, and then ambush them and finally kill them once and for all. However, they were too late. Subversion, another Narrator, granted Ivisyre access to Sequence's prematurely, and they ambushed Sequence and Aelinor at Sequence's cabin in the mountains. Ivisyre quickly subdued Aelinor, and Sequence gave up. She begged Ivisyre to spare Aelinor's life, and Ivisyre agreed under the condition that she handed over her mantle of Narration. Sequence immediately agreed, and Ivisyre sucked away her Narrative ability and ascended to Narratorhood themself. They quickly gained control of Sequence's World, destroying the landscape and forcing Sequence and her allies to flee.

Now without Narration and on an unfamiliar world, Sequence quickly began to succumb to her sickness. Unintelligible, Aelinor, and Ryver frantically searched for a cure, and with knowledge from Unintelligible's earlier journeys, they eventually were brought to the doorstep of The Great Wizard. With a tool made by the Dreamsmith, the Wizard attempted to extract the sickness from Sequence’s body, and eradicate it using Chaotic-Darkness. It was a risky maneuver, but it worked. Sequence awoke, but was immediately aware of the darkness lingering in her body, rapidly making its way to her soul. Thinking quickly and haunted by thoughts of her past time spent as a Narratorgeist, she managed to say goodbye to Unintelligible before using the plotblade of Conflict to destroy the energy, and with it, herself. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that her soul passed on to the world of dreams. Instead, it’s probably trapped somewhere dark and under the dominion of Chaotic-Darkness, if it even survived at all.
