Popular Post Turos Posted June 27, 2015 Popular Post Posted June 27, 2015 (edited) While reading the Stormlight Archive books, I realized that spren are 'real life' emoticons. So naturally I made some emoticons involving spren. To use an emote, copy the link next to it in the parentheses and paste it into your post. You can also right-click the link and choose "Copy Link Location", then in your post, click the "Other Media" button and paste it in the URL field. It may be helpful to save a .txt file in notepad with all of the links you prefer to use in order to copy and paste elsewhere. If you noticed that your images no longer work, make sure the link uses https instead of http. Changing just this part should fix the issue. Also, more cosmere-themed emoticons are under construction. Kobold King he/him Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I'd say you've attracted quite a few gloryspren with this post, Turos. These are amazing. 7
king of nowhere Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 i never realized how some of those spren really fit the emootional state they are attracted to. a pity not having a bigger image
Turos Posted June 27, 2015 Author Posted June 27, 2015 Ah shucks. They look better on dark grey, but oh well.
Ookla the Absent Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 (edited) Didn't really work, but I get the idea. edit: I was trying for a grey background. It worked in the post box thing, but didn't show up. Edited June 28, 2015 by Gargoyle 2
Turos Posted June 28, 2015 Author Posted June 28, 2015 (edited) I could make versions in dark backgrounds if people want, but it might look odd against the rest of the page. Example: Edited June 28, 2015 by Turos
Young Bard he/him Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 These. are. amazing. You should get Chaos to add them into the 17th Shard emoticons bank. 2

(You have just solved my xD problem) I love your emoticons, Haelbarde, especially Syl These. are. amazing. You should get Chaos to add them into the 17th Shard emoticons bank. Haelbarde he/him Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Curious, how did you go about making them? Do you do anything fancier than doing it pixel by pixel, or a whole lot of duplicating layers and shifting things slightly?
Turos Posted July 2, 2015 Author Posted July 2, 2015 Pixel by pixel for all but the actual sharblade. That one I drew out a basic shape, cut sections off and lightened them progressively until it got the wavy blade, then ran several versions of the GIMP's Mozaic filter to materialize it, then shifted it on layers to drop. Same for the hand, shifting it over. Nothing fancy unfortunately. Just tedious, though I'm sure there's a way to do things faster.
Haelbarde he/him Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 GIMP FTW. Can appreciate how tedious they are - did mine the same way, except no filters. Just didn't want to be missing out on some super efficient way of there was one. 1
The Honor Spren she/her Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 These. are. amazing. You should get Chaos to add them into the 17th Shard emoticons bank. I agree with Bard. Petition to make these the official 17th shard emoticons.
Amrynn he/him Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 French the llama, that's awesome! Turos, is there a certain program that you use to make the smaller emoticons? 1
Windreader she/her Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 So awesome! Is there a way I could use these on an Apple mobile device? I would love to use a few of these, but I don't know how...
Blaze1616 he/him Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 At risk of sounding foolish, how do I use these? 1
Edgedancer he/him Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 At risk of sounding foolish, how do I use these? Click on them, click on the save option, copy the URL and paste where you want it.
Blaze1616 he/him Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 (edited) Click on them, click on the save option, copy the URL and paste where you want it. So it's like using an image? Edit: Awesome. Edited August 7, 2015 by Blaze1616
Turos Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) I use the GIMP for my tiny animations and export them as an animated .gif The large ones I use Inkscape, port to GIMP, then port to Spriter Pro. I'm not familiar with Apple at all. Sorry :/ Good luck to you, though. Yep! Unless they are integrated into the website, just use that trick. Edited August 8, 2015 by Turos 2
