  1. Ooooh, I really like this potential Dawnshard. Or what about IDENTITY?
  2. Even if we won't see Southern Scadrial, that's definitely what I WANT to see. And more Steris/Wax content. Just more Steris in general, actually. She's such a delight. My money's on Trell being an avatar of Autonomy. I would love to get a better sense of what Kelsier's up to as well.
  3. Ooooh, I really like the idea of Nightblood being a Dawnshard. If you go with the theory that each Dawnshard is attached to four shards, then this WoB seems relevant. Of course, most people have associated Ruin with the Change Dawnshard, which seems to fit really well. This is super interesting though.
  4. Oh, that would make sense. I've forgotten a lot of pre-RoW stuff.
  5. So I'm rereading The Way of Kings and in chapter 29 I noticed that when Shallan draws Taravangian, she accidentally draws two cryptics. Presumably Pattern and Testament? Has anyone else noticed this?
  6. I LOVE Adolin. I swear I spent all of RoW screaming about how much I love him. He's just such a genuinely good person, in a way that feels so human and so real. I think it stems from the way he cares deeply for the people around him. Watching him be such a great friend to Kaladin, so patient with Shallan, and so protective of Maya was just EVERYTHING.
  7. This is a great list of questions, by the way, thanks for posting!
  8. 1) Adolin 2) I'm gonna go with Taravangian 3) As of RoW, definitely Navani 4) Szeth 5) Maybe Rock? Honestly, I think most of Sanderson's humor in all of his books is just too two-dimensional for me. 6) Moash. The answer is Moash. Right?? 7) Oh, this is hard. Maybe pre-Oathbringer Shallan? 8) Off the top of my head, Navani 9) Adolin. Definitely. 10) Mmmm, probably Dalinar
  9. My top two are Windrunner and Edgedancer, with a 2% difference.
  10. Honestly, I agree. I think it's more interesting to see Adolin as a non-Radiant. He doesn't seem to feel like he's lacking anything by not being a Radiant, and I don't think his character needs it right now. I like the dynamic of having a non-Radiant Kholin, right next to the center of the politics and power of the KR.
  11. Thrilled to see Adolin doing so well!
  12. Yeah, I loved her in RoW. She's powerful because of her deep curiosity and love for the people in her life. A true testament to the idea that the smartest people are the ones who can surround themselves with the smartest people.
  13. I really wanted more of this in the book. I was pretty disappointed when the plot took Kaladin away from that and toward skulking around Urithiru and hiding, which I personally found more boring. I would LOVE to see more of Kaladin working to revolutionize the Mental Health Industrial Complex (a bit tongue-in-cheek) on Roshar, and seeking help for his own mental illnesses along the way.
  14. Eh, I don't think it's all that forced. People have been speculating that Rlain was gay for forever. Besides, while certainly there are more people irl who are marginalized on one axis and not on another, there are also many who are marginalized on several axes. I do agree with @Greywatch in that I'd like to see a major human character be gay as well. But I'm optimistic that we'll get that at some point, at least in the larger Cosmere. BS has clearly become much more comfortable writing queer characters in the last several years than he was before, and I imagine that trend will continue. Same!!!! I'm really into this ship. I was hoping Rlain was who Renarin had in mind, and I'm very excited to see how their relationship in general might develop in future books.
