Long Game 42: Master of the House
Jo and the Bush replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
We all live in suspense, from day to day, from hour to hour; in other words, we are the hero of our own story. Neither Ash nor Skaa nor god nor war of Lords stays these gossipers from the exaggeration of their gathered stories. Each one had the same story to tell, and each shared only two facts. Every Gossip agreed, that the Tormanders planned to use Kandra to enslave Luthadel, and every Gossip agreed, Locke Tormander was the people’s only voice. The Good Locke Tormander was the only Tormander opposed to the plan. Some gossips told of his great love for life, and his refusal to kill, while others spread warnings that he was not to be trusted. Some laid Quetzal’s murder at his feet, while others say he fought to protect the man. The Gossips thought up reason after reason for his sadness at Magus’ death. They divided into those who believed he was sad at the meaningless loss of life, and those who thought he was sad that his plans to frame Joseph as a Skaa failed. But when the news came out that not only had Joseph been murdered, but so had his brother, Bugsy, the stories changed. No one claimed that Locke Tormander had not killed his house. No one believed he was an innocent man. No one believed his words without hesitation. No one dared to call him a liar. Still, the gossips talked. New divides among them were made. The largest camp decried him as a monster who seized control of his house, and planned to seize control of Luthadel next. Another group wept for his Nobility, believing he damned himself to protect them from the horrible Joseph Bush Tormander, who would have had them all replaced. The small minority knew him better than most, and knew he had killed his house because he wanted to. Why he wanted to, they could not agree on. But they knew, killing them was not a step in his plans, it was his goal. The next morning, that small minority was found dead, killed by various houses in a series of unrelated, unfortunate attacks. The rest of the gossips all seemed to change their tune, and the only stories about Locke that were told in public were stories of his trustworthiness, and his respect for life. But now there was an undercurrent of fear in their retellings. Alone in his Keep, High Lord Locke Tormander, one of the 10 most powerful men in the world, smiled with satisfaction at a game well played, and began to think about how he might entertain himself next. Droughtbringer was killed by the Herons! Bugsy was killed by the Ffnords! Orlok Tsubodai has won the game on the Tormander Faction. The Game will continue for another 3 winners. Day 3 ends in Player List:- 352 replies

Quick Fix Game 30: Manywar
Jo and the Bush replied to DrakeMarshall's topic in Sanderson Elimination
That works better than. There are lots of Idrians who are ignorant of the Warbreaker Magic system. Jeo sighed, as the soldiers in front of him turned away. Not the gambling types then. But there were a few other satellite fires. Smaller than the main ome, bit no less important. Shu had his own fire, but appeared to be busy. He'd check him out in a bit. There were a couple of soldiers sitting near a small fire past him though. If he recalled correctly, the man's name was Lucky. If Lucky wasn't a gambler, he'd force the man to change his name. And who was the other? Ivory maybe? Eh, hopefully Lucky would introduce her. Jeo bounced the dice in the cup, making them clatter around so that people couldn't accuse him of sneaking around, and made his way towards the pair. They both looked up as he approached. He cast two dice in front of them, and crouched down to read them. A 5 and a 6. "Well look at that. An 11 is a win." He grinned up at them. "Either of you two want to play a hand of craps?" @livinglegend @BrightnessRadiant- 520 replies

Long Game 42: Master of the House
Jo and the Bush replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
URGENT: Quetzal left Locke to his studies and walked back to his room, reflecting on the events of the night. He had been attacked, but had been saved. But why had either happened? He walked up to his room and saw a figure standing outside his door. He called out "Hey, who are you?" The figure turned, and smiled softly at him. "My name is Wurum Heron, and you and I have a date i believe." "Oh Rust." Quetzal turned to run, but Wurum was faster, snaking forward and grabbing him by the Neck. He lifted him from the floor, kicking and gurgling, and threw him out a nearby stained glass window. He screamed as he fell the four floors down to the cobblestone path below, hitting with a sickening crunch. The indispensable Elbereth has realized that we didn't account for all actions, and the hazekillers that protected Lopen, should have failed. So Lopen is Dead, killed by a Heron. Bye Lopen! We'll miss you!- 352 replies

Long Game 42: Master of the House

CLARIFICATION: I am having a spikeload of fun with the writeups, and since a few players, (And the GM) have approached me about their parts in them, i feel the need to clarify. I am taking massive creative liberties with the writeups. The only things in the writeups that should be taken as 100% GM confirmed information are attacks and deaths. everything else happens because of something i half remember reading in one of the dozens of PM's, and/or i think it would make a funny writeup. Also, if you would like to die in a specific way, place, or circumstance, please PM Elbereth and I. If you would like one of your past characters to cameo in the writeup, please PM Elbereth and I.- 352 replies

Long Game 42: Master of the House
Jo and the Bush replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Lord Sif Tormander entered the north barracks as surreptitiously as he knew how to. That is too say, he tossed a large black cloak on over everything else, and slouched. His disguise prevented people from knowing whether it was him, or an assassin Still, it hardly mattered. The barracks were barren, the guards were out patrolling the walls of the keep. But the captain could be found here. His office was at the back of the room, which served to prevent the soldiers from getting too rowdy He knocked politely at the door. A gruff voice called for him to enter, so he pushed the door open, and slipped in. “Ah! Lord Sif! How may I be of service sir?” Captain Rhiannon Aurette stood and saluted. Once again, Sif reflected on the oddity of having a Female as their captain of the guard. But she was a highly skilled Pewterarm “I’ve received information that one of the Heatherlocke’s is sending assassins at us. I need you to, detain him, just for a bit. No violence necessary, just posturing.” Rhiannon banged one mailed fist against here breastplate. “It will be done my lord. I’ll get a detachment together immediately.” She stood, and walked from the room, leaving him alone. He sighed, and left as well. He had more to do tonight, if he was to escape Locke’s traps. Quetzal looked at his hand in bemusement. A red 6 and 7, a yellow draw 2, and a green reverse. But Count Olaf had just played a blue 9, so none of his cards worked. “Remind me, if i have to draw, do i draw until i have a card i can play?” “Nah,” Taswell slid the top card off the deck to him. “Just one, but you can play it if possible.” “Hmm,” He picked up the card, and upon finding it to be a green 4, shook his head. “Your move Lord Elbereth.” Lord Elbereth slammed a green 9 on top of the deck, making the other 5 players jump, while he simultaneously yelled out “Uno!” The rest of the Ffnord nobility groaned as Elbereth proudly displayed his single card. “Remind me why you guys are playing cards instead of making War?” Quetzal asked. (Jonas played a green skip card, making Remart swear.) “Eh. Bad for business and friendship.” Taswell shrugged as he played a wild card. “Blue by the way.” “And why did you invite me to play?” Count Olaf tossed down a blue 7, and Quetzal responded with his red 7. “Ah, we heard on the grapevine that some Heron assassins were coming for you. According to our guards, our hazekillers are engaging them now.” Lord Elbereth sighed. “And, i have to draw. Your turn Jonas.” Jonas played a red 3 down. “Alright then.” Quetzal shrugged, and continued to play. Lord Sif Tormander trudged back from the barracks to the main keep, reviewing the days events in his head. He had blundered badly, letting the other Tormanders realize he was working against them. Since then, he had been running around putting out fire after fire, making promise after promise. Still, it would all be worth it if he survived, which he should, unless half a dozen of his sources of information were all wrong about what the Heatherlockes were doing tonight. “Ahem, heya Sif.” Sif paused, then looked up into the branches of the tree above him. Several nobles were crouching there, including Edrab Leah, a noted Heatherlocke Seeker. “How you doing Sify pal?” Sif bolted. He heard the leaves rustle behind him as assassins jumped from the tree. “Assassins! Assassins in the Courtyard!” curiously, none of the guards responded. Just glancing at him then glancing away. “Bya Sify old pal.” Edrab’s voice came from behind him, and then something hit him hard in the back of the head. “Lord Locke. I would have a word with you.” Locke Tormander idly looked up at his cousin. “Yes Quetzal? I was informed you were at the Ffnord’s. What brings you back so soon?” “Attempted Murder. The Heron’s sent a crack team of allomancers to kill me. But the good Ffnords’ Hazekillers saved my life.” Locke looked back down at the the hundreds of letters he was writing to himself. “As eternally glad as i am that you survived cousin, may i ask why you saw fit to tell me about this?” Quetzal pulled a chair up across from Locke’s desk, disturbing a mountain of poetry that Locke had plagiarized and mailed to himself. “Considering the fact that as i came home, I saw the aftermath of the Heatherlocke’s assassination of Cousin Sif, i am wondering if you have heard anything in your extensive, hard to hide, PM Network.” Locke scowled. “I haven’t heard anything about a plot by one of the Tormanders to wipe out the rest of us in one foul swoop. Trust me, I’ve been listening for one. Is there anything else?” “Not yet. But I need to ask some questions of people, and if i hear something i don’t like Locke, i will be back.” Quetzal left Locke to his studies and walked back to his room, reflecting on the events of the night. MegaSif was killed by the Heatherlockes! Long Game 42: Master of the House
Jo and the Bush replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Night 1: Do you have the Mettle? Jack, Bugsy, Quetzal, Sif, Locke. There were 5 people who could and would prevent him from taking complete control of the great houses of Luthadel. He would need to kill all of them before his plan succeeded. So when High House Lord Joseph Tormander sat on the balcony at the ball, and when he saw Jack Tormander begin to fall, he couldn’t keep the grin off his face. Bugsy, Quetzal, Sif, Locke. As the nobles retreated, under the onslaught of the sudden Hasting and Tekiel onslaught, Joseph watched closely, looking for other nobility who were grinning his malevolent grin. And many were. He would have his pick of allies in this matter, but first, he would need to stir the pot. See who would be willing to work with him. Please, Lord Heron, this missive is for your eyes only. I represent a Cabal of Nobles, scattered throughout the houses. We are planning in secret to replace the vast majority of Nobles with Kandra, to unify the Houses. If we do this, those who aide us will certainly be far richer than they could ever be without us. ~High House Lord Joseph Tormander Lord Grumbles Heron placed his letter down on the table, and examined the faces of Altea, Stick, and Magus. “This man is a monster, and I need your help in stopping him. I don’t know who else is in this Cabal, but we need to root them all out.” “Interestingly enough,” Altea replied, “He sent me the same letter, word for word.” She drew out a thin rolled up sheet of paper, and handed it across to Grumbles for comparison. “Magus, Stick? Have either of you heard anything about this?” “Heh, I have.” Magus slipped his letter from his vest, and waved it at her. “And I see Stick has one as well.” There was a large Stick sitting in one of the chairs, and it had an envelope taped to it. Unread, since Sticks are sticks. “Well then. I’m sure you have all thought about this plan,” Grumbles passed Altea’s letter back to her, “What do you all say to denouncing Joseph, and calling for his removal. The other Tormanders are sure to support us. They are a bloodthirsty lot.” The Stick was a stick. “Stick raises an excellent point.” Altea smirked at the insulted Lord Grumbles. “We can assume that we are not the only ones to receive this missive, and that others, less scrupulous, will work with him. If we all independently contact him, and indicate our willingness, we can betray him from within.” “Agreed.” Magus leaned back in his chair. “So, how to go about it?” Lord Heatherlocke, I do hope this missive finds you well, despite the current circumstances of War. It is a War i wish to end, and to end in such a way as to prevent any more from happening. As such, I, and a Cabal of like minded nobles, are pooling our resources to replace key members of the Great houses with Loyal Kandra. But we need a contact within Keep Heatherlocke. The chance for Peace and Prosperity are within your grasp, if you have the Mettle to grasp it. ~High House Lord Joseph Tormander Lord Heatherlocke dropped the letter to the ground, and began to pace. Lord Tormander’s letter awakened within him an old debate. Did the ends justify the means? Was peace, made and enforced through Warfare, worth the cost? Would he be damning the world, or just himself, by pursuing such a plan? And could he justify not attempting Peace? His pacing slowed, and he hesitantly made his way to his desk. My Good Lord Tormander. . . No one was Lynched! No Lynch (7): Bugsy, Devotary, Drought, Jondesu, Mage, Steeldancer, Walin Drought (4): Araris, Eternum, livinglegend, Straw Mafia (2): Sart, Fifth Scholar Shanerockes (2): Stick, Megasif Walin (1): Lopen Night 1 will end in Player List:- 352 replies

Long Game 42: Master of the House
Jo and the Bush replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Day 1: Welcome to the caBALL When the bodies began to hit the floor, a hundred nobles begin to act. The Ventures, Lekals, and Izenry’s looked the most prepared, revealing their concealed weapons and moving together to the exits. The Hastings and Tekiels practically vanished, save for their allomancers, who began to attack targets of Opportunity. The Ffnords, loved as they were, hadn’t seen the war coming, but still managed to leverage their past connections to get safe passage back to their keep. Once there, they examined the evidence, and realized that a Cabal of Nobles, including one within their own house, had been responsible for Lord Claincy’s death. They barred their gate, and begin to investigate each other, trusting to the strength of their allies to keep them safe. The Herons had been tipped off before hand. All information is buyable after all. They were already beginning their exodus when Lord Wyrm fell. They all made it out safely, and immediately began calling in secret contracts, recalling men they had bought and paid for among the other houses. They all knew the others couldn’t be trusted, after all, it was Heron gold that paid the Assassins. The Heatherlockes survived through Luck. They hadn’t been sure what would happen at the Tormander Ball, just that something would. As the smallest of the great houses, and the least offensive, they were mostly ignored as the departed. Which gave them ample opportunity to watch carefully as noble houses joined up and departed together. It also gave them time to see a man claiming Lord Rab’s signet ring. The Tormanders survived by being in the right place, at the right time. The right place, was of course, their own Keep. Their guards and Hazekillers sprang into action, dying to buy them time, and forcing hostile allomancers out into the mists. As the Keep was cleared, the Tormanders investigated the Banquet food eaten, and found evidence of the Cabal. A Tormander had the Idea, and brought the Cabal together. A Ffnord kept the group together, and kept their house mates hidden. A Heron paid for the Assassin, and a Heatherlocke snuck them in. The House war had begun. Player List: (Straw) Straw Heatherlocke (Eternum) Auden Ostlin Heatherlocke (Walin) Dbec Heatherlocke (Steeldancer) Leets Heatherlocke (Araris Valerian) Hadrian Heatherlocke (Sart) Taswell Ffnord (Jondesu) RemartFfnord (Living Legend) Jonas Ffnord (Shanerockes) Lebereth Ffnord (Fifth Scholar) Count Olaf Ffnord (Stick) Stick Heron (Crimsn Wolf) Altea Meza Heron (Mafia) Ivan Heron (Devotary of Spontaneity) Lord Grumbles Heron (Mage Star) Magus Astrum Heron (TheMightyLopen) Quetzal Tormander (MegaSif) Mega Tormander (Orlok Tsubodai) Locke Tormander (Droughtbringer) Boseph Jush Tormander (Bugsy) Bugsy Tormander If you don’t have a PM with a link to your Doc yet, please say so here. Quick Fix Game 30: Manywar
Jo and the Bush replied to DrakeMarshall's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Jeo the Yellow shivered on his log. The other soldiers, the braver, sat closer to the fire, in spots deemed unfitting for him. They all knew him for what he was. A deserter. They knew he had ran, and had been forced to rejoin the army. He had been the last soldier to join the detatchment, wearing the uniform of a regiment that had been killed at the battle of Cannasova. So they ignored him, and he sat alone, the fire's warmth blocked by their backs. He wouldn't desert again. This time, he had a mission. This time, he would prove himself. But to do that, he needed friends. He reached into one of his many pockets, and pulled out a small cup of Dice. They clattered, alerting the soldiers in front of him to their existence. "Anyone up to win some money?" That is a beautiful title Drake Marshall. I will sign up as Jeo the Yellow, a gambler and a cheat. -
