Rowan will apply 5 votes FOR proposal 1 and 3 votes AGAINST proposal 2. his last two votes are bring held back... For now.

I have to heartily disagree. I was a normal Idrian and gave my only breath away the first night. I was a drab for most of the game, but I was glad to have things to do, even if it was jut entering the breath lotto. The only times I started losing a little bit of interest in the game was the period of time in the middle when I didn't have anyone to conspire with via PM. Also, case and point, chide went inactive after only a day or two, and he had what is arguably the most important role in the game (the spy).

hmm... at this rate we won't have many propositions to vote on...

Rowan stepped forward and spoke, startling everyone. The only person who had heard him utter even a single word was dead. He had spoken the words "My Life to yours, My Breath become yours" to Aodan on that first night. He had been the first of many to place his trust in the now dead monk. "I have a proposal," he said. "The borders of our lands have become overrun with rabbits." It was true, rabbits hopped down the streets in plain sight. They peeked from windows, raided gardens, and crept into their childrens' beds at night. A small group of the fluffy creatures stared balefully at the negotiators, even now, as if they had some reason to be angry at the proceedings. "I propose we place a bounty on rabbit pelts, to be paid equally by both countries, until such a time as rabbits no longer infest our lands."

Rowan stalked through the town, unseen by nearly everyone. Things had quieted down now that many of the Idrian and Hallandren delegates had been killed. Though he didn't take any joy in the murders, he had to admit that the quiet was pleasant. There was one delegate, however, that had been a little TOO quiet. Rowan reached his destination, and crouched down in the leafy bushes, his eyes fixed on Ver's house. Hi silently drew an arrow from his quiver, and gently knocked it on his bowstring. Then he waited.

i thought I'd just pop in to say sorry that I haven't been very active the past few days. Really I just haven't had much to do. I don't have any real suspicions, I'm not in anyone's inner-circles (anymore), I'm not PK, and I have yet to win a Breath Lotto, so... Yeah. That's where I'm at. :\

I would like to second everything Claincy just said. I haven't put my name into the Goblet of Fire Narrator pool (yet) solely for the reasons Claincy said. I just don't have that much free time. Even as a player just keeping up with reading all the posts can be a challenge some days. :\ To Rubix all I have to say is that I quite enjoy these games. Thanks to you and Meta and 17thshard for making this happen! I think the games have come along quite nicely and are head in a good direction.

Rowan heard the gist of the conversation, and breathed a sigh of relief. Not because they had killed a Pahn Kahl and retrieved a dangerous weapon, also discovering the bard's treachery in the process. No, he was relieved because Elo was loud and obnoxious. The village would be much more pleasant with him gone. Rowan took out a fresh bowstring and strung his bow, then went hunting for the little man.

Cosmere Monopoly (Now Cosmere Domination)
Herowannabe replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Creator's Corner
So far... we're only 20% of the way into the Stormlight Archive after all. -
When he heard about the night's activities, Rowan was speechless. But that wasn't anything new.

Cosmere Monopoly (Now Cosmere Domination)

Can you name any other locations that investiture-wise had a bigger impact on their stories than these two? -

Wow, I'm a late arrival to this thread, but I have several suggestions, take them or leave them. In no particular order: "Warcamps" really ought to be "the Shattered Plains." Much more iconic of a location. I'd probably swap out "Hearthstone" for "the Purelake" too. The Reshi Isles are awesome too, though maybe not as relevant as the other locations you have for Roshar. One of the tax spaces should be "the Night Watcher," because you know, the Old Magic and all that. "The Godking" would make another good Taxman, as you have to keep giving him Breaths so that he can live. As for Railroads: I was going to suggest various known Worldhoppers, such as "Hoid" and "Demoux," but it sounds like you've already got it nailed down. And I wouldn't push the "A" alliteration too much, personally. Stick with Surgebinding. For money: I would use "Investiture," rather than a specific currency. Keeps it more general but still applicable to all the shardworlds. For Pieces: -I'd add a Soulstamp in place of the Aon. -I'd also swap out the Lifeless for Nightblood and the Awakened rope for an Awakened Strawman, just because I would rather play with a strawman or Nightblood than either of the former two. -I love stick, and Chull is okay, but I would love a Spren even more. Probably Syl or Pattern, or both. Not everyone may understand the Stick reference. Actually, as I think about it, Stick would make an awesome chance/community card. The text of the card could just read: "I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick. I am a stick? I am a stick". Leave it up to the players to decide what the heck they are supposed to do when they draw the card. -And a Mistwraith would be awesome, but I would be tempted to switch it for a Metalmind Bracer. You have reference to all the other Scadrian powers except Feruchemy. For Utilities: I would definitely go with "The Well of Ascension" and "The Origin (of Highstorms)" For Chance and Utility cards: One of the decks (probably Chance) ought to be named and/or dedicated to World Hoppers. The other could be dedicated to the three Realms or perhaps to Shards (the pseudo-gods, not the Rosharan weapons). EDIT: Updated a bunch of stuff above. -
Sorry I wasn't able to respond earlier, Easter weekend and all that, but someone asked for even more explanation from me, so here goes First, why I voted the way I did. Day 1: My primary goal is and always has been to take out the Pahn Kahl. But we had no leads, clues, or anything at that point, so I went to my secondary goal: an Idrian victory over the Hallandrens. I targeted a Hallandren and when votes started piling up on an Idrian I switched my vote to a different Hallandren to go for a tie or win. Plain and simple. Day 2: honestly, I can't even remember who I voted for, and it's late and I'm too tired to go back and search through to figure out who and why. Lame defense, I know, but again, too tired to care at the moment. :\ Day 3: already explained my reasoning in an earlier post, but basically, was just trying to stir the pot and get info, which I did. Today: still to be determined, but I'll go ahead and withdraw my vote for Wyrm. I don't think he's a bad guy anymore. As for the whole Breath-donation thing, I don't like it. Not one bit. First of all, there are too many inactive/ less-active people that we will never get to donate Breath, and too many people who already have, it's just not going to work. It might work on paper, but it won't work in practice. And even if it does work, and Aodan is protected by Returned who really are willing to sacrifice themselves to save him (the only way to survive the awakened sword- and I'm not sure it would even let him keep all his Breath), it's still no good. The Pahn Kahl will just target everyone else and we will only have a couple of people (Aodan and the spies) capable of doing anything significant. Plus what happens after everyone donates their Breath and then a Pahn Kahl wins the Breath Lotto? No, there is just too many holes in this plan for me to support it. Now, that being said, take it with a grain of salt because I am already a drab. I gave my Breath to Aonar on the first night, before he revealed himself as a monk. I trusted him based on his arguments and PMs, and I had painted a target on my back and didn't want my Breath to go to waste if I died. As far as I know I haven't been spied on yet, so Aonar can't trust me completely, but he can confirm everything I've said is true.
-
@Mailliw: that is probably the most thorough, well reasoned accusation I have ever seen in these games. Upvote for you. And since Aodan has vouched for your innocence: Rowan didn't spend much time around people, so as such he had never really seen a Returned before. While Ailli- Trueheart?- certainly had a most impressive stature and figure, it was the clarity of her logic that drew Rowan in. He sat on the outskirts of the group, listening to her reasonings for quite some time. By the end, he was convinced. Pulling the visor of his hat down lower on his head, he set out to search for Wyrm.

Go away dead people. Leave us alone.

honestly, I didn't really have any suspects yesterday and I had even less evidence, so at Aodan's suggestion (he can confirm this) I was voting and changing my votes to try to stir things up, get discussions going, see what we can find out. I switched from Jeo to Dyrio because Jeo (not Ailli) PMed me, saying he was working with important people and had been instructed to vote for Dyrii. I was (rightly) skeptical, but went ahead and switched to Dyrii because at the time we didn't have any real reason to suspect Jeo more than Dyrii, and also at the time Jeo had far more votes than Dyrii or anyone else, so changing my vote wasn't too impactful. After Dyrii proved innocent, our suspicions of Jeo and Ailli rose, which is why I suspect Jeo was targeted by the lifeless. I would be surprised if Ailli wasn't spied on last night to confirm/disprove her innocent.

Definitely this one. And not because I suggested it. Having a role that succeeds or fails based on nothing but pure luck is lame. Also, I don't think the thief needs his own win condition. Just make him a villager (or a member of Team Evil) with a unique special power. Otherwise it's like saying the Coinshot wins if he kills X number of people, or the Tineye wins if he posts so many cryptic messages without being discovered.

I like you Meta, I really really do. I just like your shardblade more.
-
@Mailliw: Re: thief role What if you made it so that the thief had to name the specific item and the specific player he wants to steal it from (Ie: I'm going to try to steal a shardblade from Meta)? That would reign the role in a little bit.

Rowan approached Dyrri's discarded hat. He picked the sad-looking thing up and investigated it with his keen hunter's senses. All it had ever contained was the heads of children, and a... Sword? There had never been any snake-food, or anything resembling food- inside of it. Clenching his jaw, Rowan placed the hat on his head- it fit surprisingly well- and strode out into the jungle.
-
"Chide's stupid snake?" Jeo said. "Yeah, I was watching it, but I asked Dyrri to feed it for me. It turns out he never did. Apparently he was just stuffing the food into some colorless hat he had with him."
-
Rowan kicked down Chide's door, then steps inside. He lets the python- which he had fetched from the jungle- slide to the floor. He hadn't harmed the animal- it had just been doing what it's instincts told it to do, after all. Rowan looked up to see Chide cowering in the corner, staring pale-faced at the large lump partway down the snake's length. Chide looked up, meeting Rowan's accusing gaze. "You- you found my Slippy? I haven't seen her in a week. Jeo was snake-sitting her for me, but said that he lost her two days ago. I swear by Austre's divine name!" Rowan turned and walked out, leaving Chide with his beloved "Slippy." He walked down the street, heading towards Jeo's restaurant.

Oh is that how we're playing this game now? Rowan returned from the jungle, carrying a box in both arms. He approached the hospital, and when the nurses saw him they greeted him warmly. He was known and loved there. They let him inside, and when the crippled children saw him they let out a cheer for "Good Saint Rowan." He knew each of them by name. He set down the box, and opened it to reveal a litter of baby bunnies. The bunnies' mother had been eaten by a python, and he had rescued them before the large snake could find them. He gave each of the crippled children one of the tiny bunnies, accepting nothing but their hugs and kisses on the cheek for payment. After the hospital, he left to seek out Chide. That man had some explaining to do. The python that ate the mother bunny had belonged to him.

the biggest flaw in this plan is what if the PK get enough breath to make an awakened sword anyway? They're likely very close, especially after taking Vron's Breath last night. They would only need to use it once to cripple our plans. No mercenaries, Breath, or lifeless guards will save Aodan from that, and there is no guarantee that any Returned will be willing to sacrifice their own life to save Aodan.

You might want to color that red or another color, to show that it's taking the place of your vote today.
