  1. If you riot someone into voting for the person that they already cast their vote for, this would happen. Something like that could happen if the person you targeted with your rioting changed their vote after you PMed meta your riot orders. Edit: darn mobile phone.
  2. Well... Interesting. It appears there is some soother/rioter work going on here, because the end tally doesn't match the thread. Aralis and I both cast votes, but ended up in the no-vote list (rules clarification: When someone's vote is changed via rioting/soothing, how will it appear in the final tally? Exactly like it is above? As in Aralis and I were really soothed or rioted, that's not just a mistake, right?)

  4. So when and where did Wilson vote for Wyrm? Because I'm not seeing it... Edit: nevermind, I see it now Edit2: so I spent a good deal of my freetime today rereading the game to this point, and after a lot of consideration I'm going to vote for Ostrich. I realize this is a last minute vote, but I doubt it will cause him to be lynched, so it shouldn't cause too much trouble (I hope). I have my reasons for voting for Ostrich. No I am not going to share them at this time. Ostrich can make of that what he will (as can the rest of you).
  5. Good points, those. I don't agree that his explanation was very convincing, but the fact that he told Kas (I hadn't realized that that was who he told) ahead of time is huge. I hereby withdraw my vote for Eolhondras, though now I'm at a loss as to who to vote for. While I still suspect Wilson and Wyrm slightly more than most, I don't suspect either of them enough to try to have them lynched.
  6. Let's see here, where to start. I find it interesting that you seem to be ignoring half the things I've posted while level your accusations at me. You say I haven't contributed evidence? This is true. It is also true for everybody else in this game, because at this stage nobody has any real evidence (except the seekers and the spikeds, but they have been understandably withholding of what evidence they possess). The only thing I (or any of us) can contribute at this point in the game is logic, suspicions, reasonings, strategies, and support for those who are doing the same to the Spiked's detriment, and that I HAVE done in abundance. As far as my suspicion of you goes, don't get too worked up. As I said before, I suspect EVERYBODY at this point, save for yours truly. I just happen to suspect you and Wilson and Eolhondras a little more since you were involved in the death of an innocent player. Not that much more, though. If I were to put values to it, I would say that Eolhondras has maybe a 45% chance of being spiked, and you and Wilson have a 30% chance of being spiked. Everybody else has a 24% chance of being spiked, because of math (26 players alive, -1 that I know is innocent, assuming 6 Spiked. 6/25=24%). And yes, Wyrm, of the three lynchers you are the least likely of the three to be Spiked. The only reason I rank you as high as Wilson is because of your accusations against me being based on faulty logic and half-truths. As far as me using the information gained by lynching goes to try to draw a few conclusions- isn't that what everybody wanted? Yes I argued for a no-lynch strategy, but that obviously isn't going to happen, so I am making the best out of the situation we have. Speaking of which, here is one more pattern I've noticed in the votes, and it troubles me: last cycle we had a tendency to vote for people who were quiet, and then once they had given any sort of argument to explain themselves, we switched out votes to somebody new. This troubles me because it makes it easy for the Eliminators to sit back and hide, then when an accusation is brought against them, speak up enough to explain why we shouldn't lynch them, and as long as their reasons sounds plausible we'll switch votes and leave them alone. As for what to do about that- I'm not sure, but if you suspect someone, at some point you're going to have stick to your guns in spite of their counter-arguments. That being said, I have to cast my vote for Eolhondras today.
  7. Hrmm... Why do I get the feeling that someone's trying to set me up? RIP Karnad, I'll probably be joining you soon.
  8. Really? I just got home from that signing. If I had known you were going to be there I would have tried to say "hi." Oh well, next time. Again, seriously, I apologize for that. I honestly missed Eolhondras's vote somehow, and then made an assumption that he had cast it earlier in the day. Eolhondras is definitely at the top of my suspect list now, with Wyrm and you (Wilson) as runners up. But don't take that the wrong way, there is exactly 1 person I trust to not be spiked right now (myself), and even though I suspect these three players I still wouldn't say I'm ready to cast a vote for any of them. Rather, I hope the Seekers will be pointing their Bronze-dar in their direction tonight.
  9. My apologies everyone, and especially to Wilson, I looked through the last several pages of yesterday's thread but somehow missed Eolhondras's last minute vote. I am really sorry about that. I'll edit and fix things in a minute here...
  10. Because Wilson, more than anyone, was responsible for Sart's death. But like I said, I am not dismissing Wyrm or Eolhondras, they're also on my list of suspects. And if Wilson does turn out to be spiked, then you will be jumping to the top of my suspects list, Cleo. Just saying. Edit: made a mistake, accused the wrong person.
  11. Alright, so obviously my hopes for a no-lynch strategy are long gone. It's obvious that enough people want lynchings that they're going to happen no matter what. So let's see what conclusions we can draw from today's lynching: Based on how close the vote was, with several people only having two votes, and Sart getting lynched from 3 votes, it was a prime opportunity for the Spiked players to lynch whomever they wanted. So, looking over the day's posts yesterday, Eolhandras voted for Sart relatively early in the day. Wyrm came next, after waffling around voting for several other people (ostensibly prodding for responses from people, trying to gain info). Then Wilson put the final nail in Sart's coffin at the last minute. We have one of two situations going on here: Either the Spikeds decided that out of the potential candidates up for lynching, they wanted Sart out of the way the most, and added a vote or two to him to help make sure it would happen. If this is the case, 1 of the three lynchers (either Eolhondras, Wyrm, or Wilson) is spiked, probably Wilson. The other possibility is that the Spikeds did not participate at all in Sart's death, which to me seems odd. There was a lot of changed votes throughout the day and the Spikeds had plenty of opportunities to sway things one way or the other. Near the end, with a near-tie vote spread across several players, I would think that they would be paying close attention to the proceedings to make sure things didn't go badly for them. So in conclusion, if it was possibility 1, then I highly suspect WilsonEolhondras, with Wyrm and Eolhondras Wilson a little ways behind him. If it was possibility 2, and the Spiked didn't have a hand in Sart's death, then it's likely that the runners-up (Ashette, Karnad, and myself) are also innocents, because otherwise the spiked would have wanted to get involved to protect the member of their team who was in danger of being lynched. (And yes, I also know that it's night time, not voting-time. I highlighted Wilson in red in case that the Spiked decide they want me out of the way, my suspicions will stand out a little bit more after I'm gone.) EDIT: my apologies everyone, I somehow missed Eolhondras's last minute vote for Sart, and so I assumed that he must have voted for Sart much earlier in the day, as I only looked back through the last 4-5 pages of the thread. Changed things to reflect my current suspicions, though I left my errors there (but struck through) so as to not create confusion for anyone reading this later.
  12. "Draw attention to myself"??? I already had all the attention on me- just as much if not more than Eolhondras, and all because I agreed with the most sensible player and lobbied for a no-lynch strategy. As far as it being a rookie move- well like I said this is only my 4th game- and the last game I played was several months ago- so yeah, I'm rusty, but that's besides the point. The point is that I'm NOT spiked, and I don't want to be lynched simply for doing the best I can to help out team good. Now if you want to go ahead and lynch me, well unfortunately there is nothing I can do to stop it other than vociferously defend myself- which I've already done. But if and when I die, and you see I was telling the truth, maybe my arguments will hold a bit more weight.
  13. Woah, such vehemence, Kas. But that's okay, because I really don't suspect you. It's not like the Eliminators to stick their necks out as strongly as you are doing, and I really don't suspect you in the least. A quick response: You argue that the no-lynch strategy is a weak one. I see your point, and you are right. But it is also a safe® strategy. And I counter-argue that lynching people based off of their posts and reasonings (or lack thereof) is a reckless strategy, for all the reasons I've stated before. Also, maybe I didn't make it clear enough, but the main reason for not-lynching and for dragging the argument is not so that we can sit around and wait for the seeker(s) to get a lucky hit and find someone who is spiked, it's so that they have time to build up a crew of people who can be trusted, hopefully one that will include a lurcher or two for protection of the seekers. However, you pointed something out I hadn't considered yet- Meta said that there are no safe roles, which means that the Eliminators could very well have a Seeker. It would be a very cruel, twisted thing for Meta to do, but we all know that he isn't above being cruel or twisted (no offense Meta ) So with that in mind, now I am a bit more hesitant to wait and rely on Seeker informantion. However, I still don't think I have anywhere near enough information to guess at who is Spiked and who isn't. Statistically speaking, there is probably 1, maybe 2, Eliminators who have received a vote thus far this cycle. But I have no clue who it might be.
  14. First off, My apologies for not posting more- I was at work all day and then had a guest over and haven't had a chance to (and now I just lost 15 minutes of typing this response thanks to a computer glitch. ). And unfortunately it will probably be like that for me this whole game. I've been working 60+ hour weeks lately and don't have a ton of free time, but wanted to play in the Anniversary Game anyway. Anyway, let me respond to a few things while I can. Thanks Kasimir for summing them up. Probably doesn’t need repeating, but yes, that is how I play every game. Part of the reason I did so well as an Eliminator during the last game I played is that I played it just like I would if I was a regular villager. (Also, as a side note, Renegade was also one of my fellow Eliminators that game, and he played it the same way. Not trying to cast suspicion on him- just the opposite- but I’m just saying you can’t read too much into what people say in this game, especially in just a few posts). Looking back, you are right, I misspoke. I have not played in most of the games- recent or otherwise- but in the few I have played there was usually a push by a few people at the beginning of the game to not lynch anyone by not voting or going for a tie vote. During the first such game I played (LG2), I was very vocal against that idea. I wanted to lynch people. And when the vote started looking like a tie vote, I rounded up a few others and we pulled some last minute shenanigans and got the village coinshot lynched. I learned a lesson from that, and I have become far less lynch-happy since then. And since nobody else seems to be on board with it, here are my (darn good, if I do say so myself) reasons why I think we should abstain from lynching anybody: The Spiked players want to kill people. They win when everyone else is dead. As best as we know, they are able to kill 1 person per cycle on their own. Added to that, we as a village can lynch 1 person per cycle, and we probably have 1-3 coinshots (yes, I would not put it past Meta to have 3 of each role, and/or to make it so that EVERYBODY has a special role). For now, lets ignore the coinshot(s), as they don’t seem to be trigger-happy yet, and the occasional lurcher or thug or tie-vote is going to cancel out a killing here and there. So for simplicity’s sake, let’s assume 2 kills per cycle- one Spiked kill and one lynching. At that rate the game will be over in roughly 12 cycles, give or take. However, if we as a village abstain from lynching, we can extend the game to up to 20 cycles. Why is that a good thing you ask? Lots of kills in a shorter time favors the Eliminators. Less kills over a longer period of time favors the village. Not only are we much more likely to accidentally kill someone valuable to our team than one of the Spiked (as was the case when I got the coinshot lynched in LG2), but the longer we stall the more time it gives the seeker(s) and Mistborn who draw bronze to gather up a team of trusted people, as well as time to seek out and target Spiked players- guaranteeing us successful lynchings/coinshots. Also, the Traitors have more power in lynching than we do as villagers because they know who is on their team and who isn’t. They don’t have to guess when they cast their votes. We do. And as a former Eliminator, let me attest: It’s not that hard to encourage the crowd to go the wrong way and still retain an appearance of innocence. Take a good look at the people who have cast votes so far. I’m willing to bet that half of team Spiked is on that list somewhere. Here it is again for easy reference: I admit that I find it odd that I am grouped with the “experienced, dangerous players.” I have only played in 3 games before this one (and in one of those games I earned the title of honorary Spiked because I helped the bad guys way more than I helped the village ). Some of you people have 2 or 3 times as many games under your belt! As for the “Well, discuss anyway comment,” honestly that was me posting late at night and trying to hurry and finish so I could go to bed. But seriously, yes, I agree, we need accusations and discussions and debates and all of that for all of the reasons that others have stated. However, by going for no-votes or tie-votes there is still a lot of information to be gained. If we all agree to try to avoid a lynching, then look at who resists that. The Eliminators want people lynched, and will probably be the ones pushing for lynchings (probably not the most vocal ones, mind you, but they will be there). These debates about lynching vs no lynching can be every bit as informative as debates about who to lynch. Honestly, I don’t see how a day vs night cycle changes much of anything. We have no idea why they killed Vron, other than that he was skilled and experienced. That doesn’t give us any info on who the Eliminators are- or at least, not enough to reliably lynch anyone based off of that. Reading through the thread, I agree that I’m not convinced that Elodren is Spiked. His behavior is mighty suspicious, to be sure, but I still am in favor of not lynching anyone. If anything, Elodren (and myself) ought to be seeked tonight. Really, I don't have any strong suspicions about anyone, not even you, Kasimir, despite being so adamant about coming after me- the only person I KNOW is innocent- based off of one or two posts. Lastly, for what it’s worth, let me say it outright. I am not a Spiked. I am a villager, and have been, and will be doing, everything in my power to bring the Spikies down. Edit: So much for a quick, short post. *sigh*
  15. Herwynbe stumbled into the square, bleary-eyed and exhausted. He had been up all night- first doing what he could to help quench the fires, then helping with the more gruesome task of digging the graves. He noticed the crowd milling about the alchemist's shop, and ventured closer. After a few minutes, he learned what had happened- Vron had been killed by some sort of barbaric booby-trap. "I think it was him!" a man shouted. Herwynbe looked up, surprised to see Karnad pointing a finger at him. "Yeah, you Terrisman! I think you torched the barracks then rigged Vron's shop when everybody was distracted." A few members of the crowd muttered nervously. Herwynbe took a breath, forcing himself to remain calm, but remained silent. Slowly, he turned and began walking away "Hey! Where are you going?" Karnad demanded angrily, "What do you have to say for yourself, traitor?" Herwynbe did not stop walking, but spoke over his shoulder. "I will let my actions speak for me. They will do a better job than my tongue would, I think." He left the crowd behind and returned to where he had left the shovel. He had another grave to dig- Vron deserved a proper burial, too. RP aside, no, I'm not a traitor (I am also not a Tineye, thank the Survivor!). In response to your accusation, yes I agreed with Renegade, because he made good sense. I confess that I did that in the QF2 when I was a traitor, but if you'll recall I did the same thing in the other two games I played when I was NOT a traitor. When people make good sense and are actively engaged in making things more difficult for the traitors I'm going to side with them and help them. And I'm not going to stop that this game. I'd also like to point out, as has been done in other games, that at this point there is no little advantage in lynching anyone. We simply don't know enough, and there are enough spiked traitors out there that you will be sure that they will sway the votes away from any of their members. Lynching someone know would only be helping them. And to that end, I choose to vote for nobody this cycle. But by all means, let us please make accusations, have arguments, and try to catch the traitors in their lies and falsehoods!
  16. Herwynbe perked up at the shout of "Steward," and then realized that the call couldn't possibly be for him. He no longer held that title. What title did he hold now? The Synod had not given a name to the role he was to fulfill when they had assigned him his task. Shaking his head, he returned to his task- trying to help organize the rescue workers. "Pardon me, townsmen," He said to a group of men rushing by with armfuls of wet blankets, "It would be quicker if you took this path instead, I think." The men just glared and cursed at him and kept on running straight ahead- and fell right into Master Rent's pit. There was a moment or two of confusion as they picked themselves up and warded off Rent's demands for money, but they quickly found the ladder -one which Herwynbe himself had lowered into the pit when Rent wasn't looking- and continued towards the burning barracks. Who am I now? Always in the past, his purpose had been so clear- as if it had been written plainly on the walls for all to see- but now? Herwynbe approached the self-appointed Tax-Collector. "Master Rent, if I may; The town is in a state of emergency," He said, gesturing to the flickering flames. "It is customary in such circumstances for state officials to temporarily suspend items of non-essential business, including the collection of taxes, until such a time that-" Rent cut him off with a gesture, pointing to Herwynbe's feet, then to his coin purse, before holding his palm up expectantly. "You know the routine, Terrisman. Pay up." Herwynbe sighed, reaching for his coinpurse. He did indeed know the routine- this was the fourth time since his arrival that he had been forced to pay the ridiculous fine. He dutifully pulled out his last few boxings and placed them in Rent's palm. "Now, Master Rent, as I was saying, Perhaps you would be willing to consider-" But Rent ignored him, choosing instead to chase after a couple young boys who had cut through the square to get a better look at the fire. Herwynbe shook his head and walked on, surveying the chaos around him. He was no keeper- far from it. He was no scholar or great educator. Not an ambassador or a priest. But as he surveyed the chaos around him, he knew what title he hoped to earn by the end of this great debacle. He hoped to become, with a little help from the Forgotten Gods, this town's savior. --- I've got to second everything Renegade said. I would say more but I think he summed it up nicely. One thing I will add- to the Tineye(s) (and no, I am not a Tineye this game, thank the Survivor): Yes, as Renegade said, it would be unwise to reveal yourself, but still, I would suggest hiding SOMETHING in your messages. That way, if it comes down to it at some point, you can say "I am a Tineye, because I hid this and this and this in all my messages. See?" Other than that, I'll just sit back and wait until a Seeker seeks me, and adds me to their PM group of people they trust.
  17. Ha ha, don't worry, if I'm the Tineye again you'll know pretty quickly. My first message will probably be something "oh crap I'm the tineye again. Spiked players: please just kill me now. Love, Herwynbe." (Actually now that I've posted that whoever the REAL tineye is will probably post that as the first message and I'll be killed first anyway. No, this is my way of easing back into it. It will still be a month or two at least before I'm ready for either of those. Umm... Actually, how about we choose to forget about who did what in the pirate game.
  18. Yay Anniversary Game! Since I missed out on the first game, I'll be resurrecting my character from game 2: Herwynbe, the Former Terris Steward! Herwynbe strode in to the town, then paused to brush the ash and dust off of his travel robes. He looked up, surveying Tyrian Falls. He was no keeper, but still, the Synod had entrusted him with a sacred duty: It was his job to save this town. From their own ignorance and madness. It was up to him to bring wisdom and sanity to this town. And then, once that task was done, maybe he would be able to help deal with the rampaging Koloss horde heading this way...
  19. Sounds awesome! I can't wait to hear more about it. And don't worry, at the rate we're going it might take that long to get through our current GM List.
  20. There's a typo in the GM list. For my/Tulir's game, it says, "Herowannabe/Tulir (Sel: Elantris- factions, new roles, and a chance to revive the ruined city of Elantris.)" It should say, "Elantris- 3 factions..."
  21. Oh I see. The fact that the entry cost is waived wasn't clear to me from the rules.
  22. Re: loaded dice- How so? They cost a minimum of 1 coin to buy, and then all they do is increase your odds of winning 1 coin back. Best case scenario is that you break even.
  23. Yes, good game all! One last confession: as you can see I lied about having the grappling hook on week 2. Jatae had it, but because of the mutineer rotation I hadn't had a PM from him yet, so I didn't know his plans. Later in the game, I thought it would be fun to sew some more misdirection and confusion, so I came up with the story about me getting the grappling hook and using it the way I did. Again, Luka saw straight through me, but no one really seemed to listen to her. Most of my other claims (such as being a gunner) were true. A few of my posts I said things like "if I were a mutineer, I would..." and then I said exactly what we were doing. I tried to mix in as much truth with my lies as I could so that if I ever got lynched it would be hard to get any good information from my previous posts. Thanks for GMing, Meta, it was fun!
  24. Kiin is his given name. Dreok Crushthroat is his pirate name.
  25. I have the grappling hook today. I got it bargain-priced at 20 coins. So yeah, Meta, I think you can safely do the final write up whenever you're ready. Good game everyone! I had a blast. I hope you can forgive me for all my blatant lies, but I suspect that the next game I play I'll see some retaliation. I have to nominate Luka for the "I told you so!" Award. She saw through all my lies (except the last one) and nobody really listened to her the whole game. Luka, for what it's worth, I killed you that last round out of respect. You were truly a worthy adversary. I also want to nominate RiiSpiiWithMiiLittleii for the "honorary mutineer" award. His chart was the perfect tool for us to use to manipulate everyone. My favorite was on week 3 I think it was, when Jatae, Riingar, and myself were all in his top 5 most trusted players on his chart. Thanks RiiRiiPantsOnFii!
