  1. Yeah, that's one that I haven't heard before. I have that sort of effect on people. After talking to me they have a hard time sleeping because I am so interesting. Welcome fellow sharder, this may not be where the magic happens but it is where we talk about the magic
  2. So I live in Australia right, and this week is reading week at school during which they allow us to dress up as out favorite book character for assembly. Therefore my girlfriend and I are going as Vin and Kelsier in our mistcloaks. So far my friends and I have converted a few more people to being Sanderfans bringing the total at our school to about 15. Hopefully we can get some more converts when we show off our awesome Mistborn skills.
  3. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the last trilogy planned for Scadrial have them using Allomancy to space travel? if so, could they merge Scadrial and Roshar to some extent? or maybe because people figure out how to space travel they travel to Roshar and therefore bring Harmony ver with them and the combine power of Cultivation, Honor and Harmony beat Odium. If Harmony were to go over to Roshar and Odium was pwning everyone then it would be his nature to put things back in harmony, possibly by assisting in the fight against Odium... Alternately we have to consider the existence of several more shards that we do not yet know of which could be key factors to the defeat of Odium. Also, when Brandon brings out the book about the origins of Hoid will probably reveal heaps about how things will or could go down.
  4. Oh well, welcome anyway. If you happen to come across a Chasmfiend and find a way to tame and breed them please let me know so I can purchase one from you. Of course I do expect to receive the Sanderfan discount
  5. Yeah, but if Kaladin took Honor how would that help him beat Odium? Odium already splintered Honor once.
  6. Also, suggesting that Feruchemy came from people 'Tapping' Lerasium which is the Godmetal of Preservation then would mean that there would be a reaction from people trying to tap Atium. But as we have seen, tapping atium is age and doesn't give any powers. Being born as a Feruchemist would be due to the fact that Scadrians were made by both Ruin and Preservation which gives them the balance. But because Preservation gave people sentience, Allomancy would be a manifestation of that extra Preservation within each person.
  7. If Odium is the most powerful then finding a way to destroy him would be pretty difficult, so what if multiple shards worked together to create a prison for him like the one Preservation made for Ruin. This theory however is unlikely because Brandon would again be using the same 'shard makes a prison' card -but as previously stated- so is kaladin or any of the other main characters taking up Honor. So far, Roshar is the only cosmere place that Hoid has really been a big part of (as shown in WoR when everyone knows who he is), so maybe Hoid has some secret that Brandon will slowly reveal over the 10 book thing about how they can defeat Odium. Any more thoughts?
  8. While The Rithmatist is not set in the cosmere it is written by the same author and is most likely to contain similar properties. For example, on Roshar a windrunner gets their powers from the spren they bind to, and in turn the spren is able to stay alive in the physical realm. without going into to much so I don't spoil it for people who haven't read it, the bindagent could be something like the oaths of the knights radiant that connects the source to the human. And therefore creates in this case a rithmatist.
  9. It was the five Scholars... not scientists.
  10. As much as I like Wax, I can imagine Wayne saying "oi, come over 'ere wax"... see 'ear wax'

  11. That makes sense and is really interesting... would that also explain why there are different groups of Knights Radiant, because they each gain an ability that Honor would have had, only on a smaller scale. Like seeing the future to a degree, and being able to move between realms (since every shard can take either of the three forms) as we assume and they can but also shown by Sazed after he becomes Harmony and is able to tell Spook about Vin and Elend (who had both just died) Also I really like the link to Mistborn, I never thought about that but it seems more than plausible that you are right But do the different shards have different ways choosing or rather allowing someone to ascend to hold the shard? On Roshar they have to make an oath, and if they break their oath -as said before- they lose their Honor and therefore their ability to absorb stormlight... On Scadrial however, It makes sense that Vin could do it because she was a Mistborn which is of preservation. But if Feruchemy is of both Ruin and preservation then how could Sazed Ascend...? would that be considered as foreign investiture? Thoughts anyone...?
  12. Connor the Shardholder and I thought that Godborn would be fitting...
  13. I would settle for either Feruchemy or Allomancy... preferably both. But I think I would take Feruchemy, but bond with a spren to become a windrunner... If I couldn't do that I would just settle for being a Windrunner
  14. Date with a Cosmere character... interesting question. That is tough seeing how pretty much all of the Cosmere girls are either deceptive or Dangerous... I would have to choose Marasi. Cause she is very plentiful in the 'cloud region above the land where the seeds are planted.' She is kinda like Shallan, wanting to be where the action is, but is a little bit more feminine. And we would probably go to that place where Szeth chills... you know, on top of the mountain.
  15. If Calamity is an Epic and is indeed giving the powers for all the other Epics then why can Epics not give their powers to other Epics?
  16. I will smile at and/or emotionally uplift those who are depressed or are otherwise 'under the weather'
  17. My math teacher says that I cannot add two and two and get a pickle

  18. Yeah Welcome... I don't watch anime, but I speak Japanese... A lot of people think that I am weird. Oh well But yeah, I agree with all the people that said to read Alloy, it is a really good addition to the mistborn books
  19. Since we have begun talking about shards travelling between worlds I have a question... On Scadrial for instance, everyone is born with a bit of innate investiture. If Harmony (specifically Preservation) were to leave Scadrial, would his power invested in humans leave as well, therefore leaving them without sentience? And since preservation's intent is to preserve, could he take back the power he gives to each of the people or would that be contrary to the intent? And other shards wouldn't be able to do it other than to kill all the humans... so it's pretty much permanent
  20. That's kinda hard because the blade doesn't really know how to define things such as 'evil' and 'innocent'. And if you used High Imperial to awaken it... would it work? Wanting the killing of the evil If it did work, would the sword only speak in high imperial?
  21. Personally, I think it has a lot to do with the experiences that they have had. For instance, Kaladin has been raised in a Darkeyed family, his father was a surgeon and he had war experience. And he had been a slave. He has had way more experiences that are continually added upon with him being around high ranking lighteyes all the time throughout WoR. Dalinar on the other hand grew up as a lighteyes and although he has a vast knowledge of war and lots of war experience... that is really the only thing he knows how to do is fight (as shown by him trying to be a politician and not knowing anything) Since Alethkar is pretty much the main kingdom on Roshar, and Alethkar policies are based around Lighteyes and Darkeyes as the classes. I think that Dalinar and Kaladin both display exceptionally good qualities, Dalinar displaying them from a Lighteyed perspective and Kaladin from a Darkeyed. And not only has Dalinar been a honorable man in comparison to other lighteyes, but he also raised his children to do the same which I think gives him a few points, making him and Kal pretty even.
  22. I just had a thought that may have been said before... But as far as I can recall, Brandon is going to make a Mistborn book in the future where they use allomancy to travel through space. Hoid was present at the shattering of Adonalsium. If preservation is a shard of that power and can see pretty far into the future, could the power have shown Hoid a method of travelling through time which is similar to this future Scadrian tech and/or have given him a way to see fractions of future events in order to place himself in those key events.
  23. Man... is this a pun-ishment If I were a sphere I would be Dun with these jokes
  24. Even a Shardbearer couldn't bear these bad jokes... so Sadeas was trying to get rid of Dalinar and his family... in other words he was trying a Kholin cleanse
  25. Ok, I know there has been talk about Scadrians on Nalthis and their use of Breath. this question has probably already been asked, but oh well... Scadrians are born with a little bit of investiture, a small part of Preservation. And it has been said that the one breath that people are born with on Nalthis. If Mistborn have more investiture to be able to use Allomancy, would that transfer to having more breath on Nalthis or would they just have one like everyone else. More importantly, if a Mistborn gave his Breath away would they not be a Mistborn anymore... I guess this question is dependant upon the answer to the first question. But are there any thoughts?
