Does leaving Scadrial necessarily mean that he has to withdraw al his power from the world? We know the difference between major and minor Shardworlds is the presence of a Shardholder... but what is the difference between Harmony leaving Scadrial and Odium Splintering other Shards? When a Shard is splintered, the power as a whole can't influence the world... can Harmony not leave Scadrial and leave influence there?

Rusts! how silly of me

We're all talking crossovers and referring to movies/TV shows... what about game crossovers? For instance: 1- Super Smash Bros Cosmere 2- Legend of Zelda Majora's mask, but instead you can put on different cosmere masks and become mistborn/mistings, KR, etc... ...that's all I can really think of at the moment...

God Beyond (Major Mistborn Spoilers)
Shadowspren replied to WayneSpren's topic in Cosmere Discussion
This is probably a commonly asked question, but where can one find these vast records of WoB -
This is a completely random topic, I doubt I'm the only one who has seen this possible connection. And I doubt that it has any relevance to anything. But I just noticed the connection between the peasant population on Scadrial being called Skaa, and the name of Dominion being Skai... Could there be a possible connection...? The relationships of those who hold the Shards prior to their ascension could be important and/or interesting on some scale and could possibly add a new level to the motives behind the original Shardholder's plans and actions... But otherwise, just an observation Any thoughts?

Everstorm summoning (with extra cosmere spoilers)
Shadowspren replied to Chicken's topic in Cosmere Discussion
In Elantris, we also see several ways of accessing the Dor; not all of them are used for good. 1- Elantrains use AonDor 2- The use of ChayShan (the Jindonese medetative martial arts) 3- The magic used by the monks at the Dakhor monastery Although #3 is mostly theorised as we don't know much about it, if indeed it is a magic of Dominion, then it shows that different shards allow different access to the Dor. Also, we know that Odium killed both shards on Sel, so he may have picked up a few tricks from those he killed, such as how his minions can access the magic systems. Thus explaining how there could be an overlap. -
Hmm... interesting... the Parshendi armour (for warform) is often likened to that of a Greatshell so maybe... Plus they speak of a plethora of songs that were forgotten that are "songs of power" Mistborn (HoA) Then again, maybe Odium has the ability to control Greatshells somehow... there seemed to be a lot of weird creatures before the recreance... so it might be possible. If it was linked to the spoiler topic ^^^ then it might be possible that Odium could gain control over them directly... possibly because of the Gemheart, i dunno. That being said, perhaps there were just other creatures with purple blood. the thing with Sanderson is he says "in my books there are more connections than coincidences" but there are still a load of coincidences I'm sure

You're probably right... but with Brandon you can never be too sure

Dalinar, Sadeas's murder and public opinion
Shadowspren replied to kari-no-sugata's topic in Stormlight Archive
I agree, Kaladin and Adolin became pretty tight near the end of WoR... Plus, Adolin believed Kal about Amaram. Syl won't like it, but I think Kal will side with Adolin when he finds out. Just because he finally decided not to kill Elhokar doesn't mean he'll feel the same way about Sadeas. There will be ramifications to what happened, certain characters won't like it... What about Szeth!? dunno if this has been brought up yet, but he's a Truthwatcher now... If/when he finds out, he will seek to bring down the law... and I think that might even be taking Adolin's execution into his own hands... In which case, Kaladin might seek to protect him... Whether or not he broke the law he can't fight a Radiant and win... so Kal might protect him... but then there would be another fight between Kal and Szeth which I don't think will happen, unless it was just to show the confusion on Kal's face when he sees Szeth alive... And I don't think Adolin would admit to killing Sadeas straight up... but Pattern would probably see right through the lie... -
Most likely, but it's hard to tell because nobody seemed that surprised when they 'found out'... Firefight Steelheart, HoA, Warbreaker, Rithmatist

Always good to have another voice on the Shard. Welcome

I have a question/observation: In the Second Letter it says "I am told that in your current incarnation you've taken a name that references what you presume to be one of your virtues" Incarnation... could that be referring just to changes that were made as he travelled from Shadesmar to the Physical realm while worldhopping? OR could it be a subtle hint that he is indeed a Returned or at least has a divine breath? in which case he would be able to simply conceal his breath the same way Vasher did/does

At the end of WoR, Shallan is talking to pattern and the conversation basically goes like this... "I hate you" "I know, but one day you will kill me and have your revenge." "I don't want revenge, I want my family back" Furthermore, it seems to me that there is a lot that the Spren don't tell the knight... I gather this both from Pattern, Syl and from what is mentioned about Jasnah's spren. It seems that all the spren we've seen are absolutely, 100% sure that the knight will one day kill them... they don't think "maybe you won't" The Stormfather says "you will kill her, it is inevitable" Why are they so sure? is it that they have no faith in humanity? because I'm pretty sure Syl and Kal are pretty tight and she now trusts him to be a changed man... OR is there an ulterior motive between spren bonding with humans? In the Second Letter it says (when talking about Odium) "He is unfortunately what we made him to be" So is it that hard to believe that Tanavast, and therefore his spren, are making bonds to achieve some goal? In which case, the Knights might have decided not to be a part of this goal when they figured it out... Could it have be a corruption of the spren? the corruption of the bond? The Windrunners, for example, are supposed to protect those who cannot protect themselves... What if the knights decided that the only way to protect people, was to severe their bond so they couldn't be pawns for a corrupt system?

Who is your LEAST favorite character in the Cosmere?
Shadowspren replied to Patar's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I see what you're saying, she is pretty desperate. And I guess that is the annoying part, that she is so smart in certain areas but overthinks everything to the point where she can't accept that just simply loves her... guess she didn't expect it to actually work out -
Who is your LEAST favorite character in the Cosmere?
Shadowspren replied to Patar's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I haven't WoA in a while so I completely forgot about Zane, but now that I think about it I really don't like him, for personal reasons obviously. I've recently had trouble with another guy trying to get between me and my girlfriend, which was the most infuriating thing I've ever dealt with (besides the moment when Kal gets arrested in WoR). Elend may have been a lousy king at first, but he does end up being the coolest guy ever and I'm really happy that Vin chose him and killed Zane... Elend wasn't a Mistborn, he couldn't fully relate to Vin like Zane could, but at least he was trying. and it irked me to see him trying to tear them apart; and the worst part is that Elend couldn't do anything about it, he just had to trust her to make the right choice... The fact that they were brothers didn't help at all... Tying for first place are also Shallan and Elhokar: Adolin really adores Shallan, but she can never seem to just simply return the affection. Everything she does in the relationship is too calculated and makes it seem like she is just toying with him the whole time. Plus, when he tries to tell her about how he loves her and will do everything he can to help protect her, she just pushes him away and basically tells him "I don't need you, I can look after myself" It's ok to be independant, but he is really the only one working on their relationship... Elhokar is just a whiny brat... he is in a really good position to step up, be a strong leader and unify the kingdom more fully, but intead he just whines about everything, questions everything everyone else does, but never makes executve decisions himself. -
hmm, theoretically I don't see why not... Would it have any effect on the person that would keep them from physically using 4 surges? in WoR it talks about the differences in the stormlight usage between a Nahel bond and an Honorblade, stating that the latter requires more because it uses it up heaps faster... My question then being, If for instance someone held the Windrunner and Skybreaker blades, would it strengthen that person's ability to use the Gravitation surge in comparison with just one of the blades?

Nope, not anime. Live action would way better portray it (agreed that it would depend on the effects) But I would rather it be live action or nothing. I would have a hard time watching it if it were anime. In this case, I purpose that the members of the 17th shard become the majority of the cast and crew in order to do it justice.

After thinking about this for some time... I have to say Wit 1) I have a tendency of insulting people through the form of jokes 2) Some people are fond of me, while other people actually really hate me 3) Every now and then I give emotional support to people that really need it and only find out how much of an impact I had several years later 4) People are often confused when I am serious, and have a hard time taking me seriously 5) I appreciate a good sense of humour and enjoy it when someone is able to give a good joke 6) I am pretty secluded from social groups around me, preferring to do my own thing 7) People are surprised when I say something that "actually makes sense"

Haha or maybe that is why he freaked out at the end of Friefight and fled, because normally he makes a forcefield around someone, shrinks it, they die. But when Firefight shows up and starts changing the reality, she brings to light the fact that there are more than one possibilities and he freaked out because there were different realities where many things can happen... Chance.

No I had similar thoughts, Szeth says in the prologue that he can't wear plate and use lashings because they interfere with one another, whereas the windrunner in WoK can use both. Yeah that's what struck me, she didn't remove her helm, it seemed more of a dismissal than anything. One thing I wanted to add was that besides the Glyphs on the plate, he doesn't just describe the female knight at 'wearing plate' (I'll find the exact quote later) but he says something like, 'a female in elegant shardplate... don't know if that is the adjective used but it is something like that. Here's my theory, when the Parshendi take on warform they grow armor from their skin, and taking on a different form is based off of different spren right? So when a knight bonds with a spren, their continued use of stormlight naturally forms a protection for the knight. This explains why it doesn't leave any gaps, because it forms around the person, plus even after the recreance the plate slowly molds to the shape of the wearer. Then once a Parshendi changes forms they lose their armor, when the knight breaks their bond, they lose the control of being able to summon the plate and it becomes purely physical Furthermore, because the plate is a result of the bond with the spren, it doesn't interfere with the other powers of the bond, but enhances them. It wouldn't work with Sazed initially because he got the Windrunner powers from the honorblade, not a spren. Plate is not indestructible, but it would have formed to help the knights fight against the voidbringers, not against each other... When Adolin is fighting at the end of WoR he gets struck by lightning, or lightning strikes nearby and it is ineffective because the plate was made (or formed) for that very purpose of fighting the voidbringers, for winning the desolation. And lastly, plate being a result of the bond would explain why it could be summoned by the knight, and would also explain why once the bond is broken, it remains in the physical and can no longer be summoned.

He did, he says "Smokestance is ideal when one is using an unfamiliar weapon" But he wouldn't have known that Smokestance is best for the situation in any other respect, but i would just so happen that the stance was made for it. Assuming the theory is correct, Either way it is a nice coincidence

This is actually pretty interesting... When I met Sanderson a while back I asked him a question and he said "In my books there are more connections than coincidences". This is a very Brandony, vague response but in connection with your theory it can probably be said that something will come of it. WoR spoilers The only problem with this theory that I can see is that in this very same vision ^ after they kill all the beasts the guy turns to him and says something to the effect of "Those techniques are unfamiliar to me, but they look well practiced". Thus the only problem is that it appears the stances used in modern Roshar were not in practice when said beasts were around. Dalinar says that he is most practiced in Windstance and instinctively assumes this stance at one point during the battle, after which he sustains the most injuries until he falls back into Smokestance... All in all I would like to see this as the reason behind the stances, it would be an awesome foreshadowing to some of the cool creatures that could appear throughout he series... the counter argument above being the only element of doubt

Am I the only one who cried at the end of Elantris?
