  1. There're three sapient races on Yolen--Humans, dragons, and sho-del. We don't really know if any of the races really dominated. It's likely that humans evolved from a primate ancestor on Yolen, and possibly on a few other planets. But it's equally possible that they were created as is by Adonalsium or something like that. So I guess the short answer is: Maybe? We don't know. Sorry!
  2. I think it also has to do with personalities. Some people are more inclined to feel and welcome the Thrill and others are less so. Personality, experience, Nahel bond, all figure into it, imo. Also, it's affected, not effected.
  3. RAFO isn't a confirmation, though?
  4. Mmmm delicious necro
  5. According to Brandon, at the very least, the ending to SA is hidden somewhere in the first two books.
  6. Or guess that coherent word as an answer
  7. Hey that was the joke I made after we figured the first two meta puzzles. *Pouts* Kidding. Congrats again on the winning team! We'll get you next time.
  8. I second this. The Coppermind is amazing.
  9. Mistborn spoilers So the line seems to be very blurry.
  10. Yeah, the changes are pretty minor. Some small continuity edits, a better map (that you can find online), an epilogue (that you can also find online, I think), and an Ars Arcanum with a little bit more info, which should be summarized on the Coppermind. You should be fine.
  11. The footnote is referencing the annotations that I posted
  12. Yep. Brandon mentioned it in the annotations for Warbreaker. The priests take a baby Returned as a sign that it's time to change God-Kings, but that baby Returned isn't necessarily the next God-King--they prefer that the next God-King be the actual child of the previous one.
  13. I have an unfounded theory that Vedel is one of the Silent Gatherers, just because it would fit the "Heralds' madness involves the opposite of their Divine Attributes" idea.
  14. Oops, that's what I get for my first post of the day. And yeah, still, Kaladin doesn't pick up a spear again until the battle at the Tower, at which point Nerghaoul has mostly moved on. Dalinar and Adolin both notice that it was fading or gone by that point. It'd be weak enough that Kaladin's bond with Syl would protect him from it.
  15. Welcome to the Shard! I don't think Hemalurgy would be able to channel enough power to get anywhere near the power of a Shard, let alone Adonalsium. Also, theories should probably go in the Cosmere Discussion forum, or the forum related to the specific series, rather than the Q&A section. Q&A threads are not a great format for discussion, because of the way they're sorted and formatted.
  16. Adrotagia can't be a Herald. T remembers her being a kid, and them growing up and old together.
  17. I quoted my WoB already
  18. Kaladin isn't ever in a situation where he would fight while Nerghaoul is on the Shattered Plains, and by the time he does get to fight, Nerghaoul has mostly moved away (toward Jah Keved). Plus, his bond with Syl protects him from that influence to a degree.
  19. Sadly, we never did get an image for that one, so we have to regard it as paraphrased. Also, when I asked Brandon about it, he said there have been several Heralds in proximity to T, but only one is influencing him now, and he wasn't willing to give a name.
  20. Excellent, another convert. One day I'll re-type that topic. My headcanon is that T is a marljuana plant.
  21. Obligatory, "Odium isn't Passion, darn it" from R'Shara
  22. Szeth doesn't use Nightblood after the perp opens, if I remember right.
  23. Atium is affecting the person burning it, not the thing it's predicting, so there should be no problems with seeing the atium shadow of a Shardblade or Shardplate or a Surgebinder. A person burning metals or also burning atium is pretty invested too, and they have no problem with those shadows.
  24. Welcome to the Shard! It's an interesting theory that has come up a few times. The problem with this is that you can soulcast things into aluminum, whereas you can't soulcast things into atium or lerasium because they're too invested. Also, if you have things to add to your post, you want to hit the Edit button, rather than double posting (And this is the 17th Shard, not Arcanum )
  25. When we're done, it'd be fun to share the google docs so we can see each other's thought processes
