  1. I think it's a terrible terrible idea.
  2. We know that Hoid was at the Shattering, and that he kinda thought it was necessary. We do not know that he backed out or feels guilty. Given the Traveler excerpt, I'm still sure he was for the Shattering and is glad that it happened.
  3. Well he writes multiple books at once. So it might take 20 years to finish SA, but after that, there's only supposed to be another 6 books or so. He's going to write the Elantris sequel(s?) and (start?) MB Era 3 or Warbreaker sequel(s) between SA 5 and 6, write whichever he didn't get to between SA 6-10, then he'll just have Dragonsteel and Era 4. So probably about 30 years.
  4. Iyatil is of Southern Scadrian descent, but she was born in Silverlight. She wasn't born on Scadrial. Also, the airship designs are quite different.
  5. It also doesn't really seem like it's pronounced Aonically. Evi would be Eev-eye, and Toh isn't based on an Aon at all since it only has one vowel.
  6. Elantrians have white hair and silvery skin.
  7. They should be able to do the same thing as someone with stormlight can do.
  8. Let's not derail this thread, though
  9. It's at the end of the next chapter.
  10. Space in the Cognitive Realm that people aren't thinking about and don't live on is compressed. So since no one thinks about any particular location in space and no one lives there, it gets compressed in the Cognitive Realm. So you can take a single step and cross light years.
  11. Not sure what you're asking, exactly. Whether they're reborn looking the same? They are, yes.
  12. I honestly don't know what Dalinar's future is going to be, exactly. All I know is, given the story so far, Brandon's saying that Dalinar was his first character, one of his favorite characters, and the heart and soul of the series, it's going to be something unexpected and glorious.
  13. Given that the Ingenuity WoB was given to Chaos, and he's pretty sure Brandon's expression was something like, "yep, you nailed it," I think we can safely say Ingenuity or some synonym of that is a Shard.
  14. In fact, he's said that just because someone is a flashback character in the backhalf, doesn't mean they'd actually survive to that book, like Eshonai. No one is guaranteed a spot in the back half.
  15. Nightblood might be able to just draw in the investiture from the sunlight, actually. OB Spoilers
  16. Looks like WoR is what you're looking for.
  17. This is the Stormlight forum, though...
  18. Maybe when they were fighting Re-Shephir?
  19. That sounds right, yes.
  20. Seasons don't have a set period of time. They can be in one season for months or days.
  21. We know we've seen the "soon aftermath" of someone using Plate. The only one that qualifies for that is Jasnah.
  22. Since I'm pretty sure Jasnah has Plate, and is much smarter and more practical than Kaladin, I think she would win. We've seen her in battle, she's not a wuss.
  23. They actually do grow crops. Tallew grain, lavis grain, etc. They grow them from a type of rockbud. Sebarial is leading farming effors in the Shattered Plains. They have erratic seasons, but Summer and Winter do exist, which may bring periods of drought.
  24. Have you read the Warbreaker Annotations? It's like an extra third of a book of just background stuff. https://brandonsanderson.com/annotation-warbreaker-dedication/
