  1. Right, but that WoB refers to two entire Shards interacting. I really don't think the Dawnshards would have that much power. Yeah definitely earlier than the Recreance, possibly much much earlier. That's one of the reasons why I don't think those events would have anything to do with unbonding a Dawnshard.
  2. Awesome, can't wait to hear the answer!
  3. The metal can block the Shardblade, but then you still have a large, hard, sharp and pointy object trying to cut through it.
  4. Okay I am very puzzled here why I am being singled out. In the thread in question, I repeatedly said that all opinions are valid, and that I understood where the poster was coming from, and reminded everyone to stay civil. Where, exactly, in that entire thread, or even recently at all, was I rude or abrasive? The only time I got the slightest bit annoyed was when I started getting accused of these things that I didn't do. When it was clear that my opinion was never going to match his, I stepped away from the thread, as we're supposed to do. I mean, the beef that IronBars was having with me was that I wasn't debating with him about my opinions. I was stating them, saying his were fair, and bowing out. So seriously, what the crap?
  5. NB can feed on anything. Humans. Spren. Rocks. Tables. Aons. Anything. He might choke on a big Splinter, and would on a Shard, but he could still feed off them some first. All humans in the cosmere have innate investiture, and is basically the spark of life. NB will eat that and kill them. We see this in several scenes where he is drawn.
  6. I wasn't hot tempered until the last few pages. When you read back, you can see I was mostly saying that everyone was entitled to their opinions, agree or not, and to make sure to stay civil. Which is why I'm so baffled at these accusations being thrown at me *shrug*.
  7. Also, don't forget that Twyndyl, a full Feruchemist, had borne over 20 children, all who would have strong Feruchemical genes because of her. It doesn't sound like Harmony increased the likelihood of Feruchemists and Allomancers. Or at least, we aren't given that information during his Ascension monologue. Thematically, I would guess that Brandon wouldn't have written that, just because Fullborns are totally overpowered, and full Feruchemists and Mistborns, are borderline overpowered.
  8. Hey now, it's not my data I wish my brain worked well enough to come up with that. I mean I could...but it would involve hours and hours of finding the right equations, paper, and pencils. My physics classes were a LONG time ago, and while I remember the concepts pretty well, a lot of the technical equations have been erased from my memory! The credit goes to jofwu and a few others. Also, they have worked on the moon issue, and they agree that the moons are super screwy. Here is the first portion, that doesn't involve OB spoilers. Here is the second portion that involves OB spoilers.
  9. Maybe Autonomy stole a baby greatshell from Roshar and grew it into Patji?
  10. So then......how does Patji fit in with this? It'd be awesome, though! Talk about rags to riches
  11. The Listener Song of War talks about it. So it had to be before the Listeners broke off and ran from the parsh, which was around the time of the Recreance. Here's a bit more on the highstorms and investiture. I'm trying to find the WoB you're referring to, but I haven't been able to. Do you have it handy? Also, voluntarily breaking a bond is different than having it broken, I feel. So giving up something shouldn't cause an uncontrollable release of energy. Every type of bond we've seen so far can be broken voluntarily with very little destructive effect.
  12. Hmmm, the problem there, though, is that there would be significant time differences in those events. The Stormfather himself (or at least highstorms and investiture) pre-date the Shattering. Ishar and the rest abandoned the Oathpact thousands of years before the Recreance. The Unmade predate the Recreance by a lot (Dalinar sees Re-Shephir in Starfalls). The Sibling predates the Recreance and was withdrawing before the Recreance. (The Radiant in the Starfalls vision encourages Dalinar to go to Urithiru) The destruction of Stormseat/the Shattered Plains is around the same time as the Recreance. Or are you saying that one of these events could have been caused by a Dawnshard shattering? We've also seen the bond being broken for Honorblades, Sprenblades and dead Shardblades, and none of them released any particular amount of energy.
  13. It doesn't sound like it gives any particular effects, alas. And you only transition if you Intend to.
  14. I was actually trying very hard to be fair and non-confrontational. Apparently, I suck at it.
  15. You're making my head hurt.
  16. Yeah if they're in Blade form, it would take some hacks. If they were in physical form but not a Blade like Then NB could kill them that way. Basically, if they are in a form that can be pierced, they can be eaten.
  17. I seem to recall Syl coming from the word "sylph"? So Sylphrena could be a combination of Sylph and Phren. A mental spirit of the air? For Phenadora, woule "light" or "brightness" fit? She who gives light, or She who grants brightness? For Jasnah:
  18. Hmmmm. As you all likely know (hah) I hate to theorize without evidence. So let's look at it. 1. Rock is very strong, abnormally so. This is noted in several instances. 2. Rock's family ruled their particular peak. 3. Rock has trained as an archer and a warrior. 4. Rock has (coincidentally?) met with Hoid. 5. Horneaters live near Cultivation's Perpendicularity. 6. Horneaters have Listener blood. 7. Horneaters have Listener physical characteristics, namely the extra jaw bits (Leaving the height and hair out because that could come from a number of sources). 8. Some Horneaters can see spren, even when they aren't showing themselves on purpose. 9. Rock can almost hear the Rhythms at times. From all this, it does seem very possible that Rock has a rudimentary gemheart, at the least. I'm not as sure about having a spren, even a minor one. Maybe they are more like how skyeels are--they have spren around them (not always visible) that aid their strength without being bonded to them? Ehhhhh nah, that's not any more likely than that they have spren. It's definitely interesting.
  19. Someone (I can't remember who, if it was you, please speak up!) mentioned in Discord that Venli thinks, But Listener bones are red. Is this intentional?
  20. You know, I never thought of it that way, but that does seem like an odd coincidence, doesn't it? Hmmmmmm Did we decided if Rock does or doesn't have a gemheart? I can't decide on this one, because I feel like there's evidence either way. He *is* abnormally strong. But are all Horneater warriors strong? They might be. Is it because of a spren bond or living near to Cultivation's Perpendicularity or just due to their large size? Food for thought, hmmm.
  21. Yeah. He discovered the night and found it glorious. Whether he had a brother or not, he decided Dayside's sun was annoying and profane, and tried to turn people to worship of the night, and Trelagism was born.
  22. Or maybe we're "defending" what happened in OB because we have our own opinion, which is that we liked it, and we're explaining WHY we liked it? I know that I have my own beefs with Oathbringer. And I know that Calderis and many others do too. But many of the things you see as underwhelming or as problems, many people think have good reasons for, and enjoyed. That's the point people are trying to make. For example: Did I find Shallan's chapters enjoyable? Sometimes yes, often no. Did I find them well written, insightful, and realistic? Absolutely.
  23. My theory is that Trell (and does he have a brother named Nalt?) becomes a worldhopper and goes to Scadrial and founds the Trelagism religion. Autonomy co-opts this religion in Era 2 and turns it into Trellism. She might have been watching the whole time, and followed the guy to Scadrial in the first place, and that's why she chose to use that religion.
  24. He was in the original Prose version as well. Since his name and the fact that he is there wasn't changed, he definitely has some significance. Maybe he worldhops to Scadrial at some point, and founds Trelagism? Does he have a brother named Nalt?
