I was under the impression that the entire Cosmere universe was a dwarfed milky way galaxy. As in, it's the entire universe, but the universe is just really really small.

The Stone Shamans and the Faithful Order (Extended Version)
kaladamSB replied to Erklitt's topic in Stormlight Archive
I was always under the impression that the order who didn't abandon their oaths was Nalan and his Skybreakers seeing as how they are still active today. Would also kind of go along with their obsession with the law, kind of a never abandon your post kind of scenario.- 15 replies

My theory was that when Preservation told the Terris people the prophecy of the Hero of Ages, he also took away his extra piece of Preservation inside them, making them 1 part Preservation and 1 part Ruin, and causing them to be able to manifest feruchemy. No evidence what so ever to support this.

I always felt that the Skybreakers being so obsessed with the law would make them candidates for a type of military police for the Knights Radiant. This is why I felt Nalan only kills surgebinders who he knows have broken the law. He must have been watching Kaladin vs Szeth to be able to revive Szeth, and we saw no evidence of him trying to or wanting to attack and kill Kaladin. This obviously does not explain the surgebinders and desolations link, but I feel like it's something to ponder.

Has anyone ever asked what happens to the investiture that Nightblood eats? Where does it go? Does he absorb it and it adds to his power or does he destroy it for good somehow? And if he does absorb it, does that start to change his intent and personality?

Kelsier would lead my team. I'd have Marsh in a tank-like role. Szeth and Kaladin on aerial assault. Lift for healing. Tensoon. Susebron for Breath. Vasher and Nightblood. Vasher for experience and Lifeless, and Nightblood because, well, it's Nightblood.

A double take while re-reading The Final Empire
kaladamSB replied to Rockbud's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Im not sure if I agree that the God Beyond is only an easter egg. At the end of HoA Sazed says that he spoke to Vin and Elend but couldn't bring them back, and this to me suggests that there is an after life that can not be influenced by the Shardholders. I believe that if the Shardholders were truly Gods, nothing would be off limits to them. -
Double chromium! Sap an Allomancers metal supply and infinite luck. I hope Brandon writes one into this series.

Wheel of Time (HBO) - TV Series (Fan Adaptation)
kaladamSB replied to SwannMadeleine's topic in The Wheel of Time
Poster looks real good. I looked at the cast list and I agree with a lot of it but I don't think your Galad or Berelain are pretty enough. Those 2 always stump me when I try casting.- 7 replies

Anyone else really let down by The Skull Throne?

In a fist fight, tap to have your opponent miss all punches. Tap more to possibly make them miss and knock themself out. Close your eyes, tap and pick stocks. Skydiving parachute malfunction. Tap and keep trying the cord. High speed car chase. Tap to survive without any crashes, while every police car following does crash. Bank robbery. Tap and guess at the safe combination.

I read Half the World. I loved Thorn Bathu, especially the fight with Gorm at the end. It's Abercrombie, so you knew she wasn't going to win, but the loop hole in the prophecy gave me a little hope. Still not a disappointment though. I also think its safe to assume that the elves were, in reality, just advanced humans. Im almost positive Skifr's elf "magic" was a pistol. Not so sure what the bangle is though. Overall this was good. I hope to see sone Thorn and Uthil side by side fighting in the conclusion.

I have Mr. Rothfuss on my twitter and on New Years he posted a bunch of new years resolutions, one being "I will not be releasing Doors of Stone this year. You might as well start getting used to it now". Whether he was joking or not is obv up for debate, but I'm leaning towards no.

Does a Type IV awakening bring the cognitive entity of said object more into the physical? Simmilar to how the nahel bond grants spren intelligence on Roshar?

Does anybody know if Brandon has plans to come to Toronto?

I am a pretty big fan of this series also. Loved The Warded Man, but as most others said, the repeat flashbacks from different perspectives started to bother me by book 3. The only way it wont bother me in book 4 is if it's a mind demon or something like that. Another thing was the fact that Renna became so powerful so quickly. She was able to get the better of Enkido using sharusak after training for a few months? Enkido is mentioned throughout the books as being one of the best, it just didn't sit right with me. And don't even get me started on the Love you, Arlen Bales. We get it Renna. All that being said though I still really enjoy this series, and I'm really excited to see what happens after that Deliverer showdown.

Ever since I heard about compounding I've wanted to be double chromium. If you're good, you can basically negate almost all allomancy used against you, and I'm sure most of us are familiar with Matrim Cauthon. Someone with formidable fighting skill mixed with near infinite luck that can be used when needed is not somebody worth fighting. I can picture them facing down a shardblade and the shardbearer slipping on a rock and accidentally slicing their own jugular.

Elantris El - lawn - tris Ell - anne - tris Eel at the start instead of El?

Argent did you feel that King was much much better than Prince was? I have yet to read Emperor, but I remember not being very impressed by Prince, and I'm easily entertained.

I found it very interesting that one of the leading theories for KKC is that Kvothe changed his "name" to fully become Kote, and Auri creates this place for him and literally says she will craft a new name for him like he did for her. Regardless of the whole crush thing, I believe Auri will have a big role in book 3.

I was always under the impression that all inquisitors were savants in both steel and iron, causing them to see the blue linss differently. Like how Spooks tin flaring caused his senses to be enhanced.

Chromium. Mat Cauthon status

Love to hate: Bayaz from First Law. Mostly because I thought he was really cool after I read The Blade Itself. Now its a pure white hot hatred. Odium in the house. King Joffrey Elaida. Wheel of time. I know the wheel is endless, but there isn't enough time to explain the full hatred I feel for her. Denna from Kingkiller Chronicle. I know she isn't a villain, but I hate the way she does my boy Kvothe. Always have. There aren't any villains I really hate to love. I've always loved me a good villain with no hate involved. Moridin and the Gholam from Wheel of Time. Lord Ruler Dilaf and Hrathen Fenris the Feared from First Law And the list goes on...

I have to start this post by saying it doesn't hold a candle to WoR. That being said I really enjoyed it. I liked Yarvi from the very beginning, and the Uthil (?) reveal at the end was well done. Did anyone else hope Nothing was Logen?

I finished Memories of Ice today. What a fantastic series Malazan is turning out to be. There is an endless amount of unforgettable characters and the story itself is outstanding. I'm really impressed.
