So I finally got around to watching FullMetal Alchemist. Once I'm done, I'll watch Brotherhood, in order to compare, but man, this is good stuff.

You are not, in fact, the only one that dislikes Mako. There are many people who hate him. I feel he gets a lot more flak than he deserves. Nobody seems to remember that it was Korra who kissed him. Most of his behavior these past few episodes has just been him acting in his natural role of protector (see his childhood) with his repressed feelings for Korra seeping in. I don't think acting the way he is toward Korra OR Asami is at all conscious. He's running off emotion, without really thinking about the appearances of his actions. He's not a jerk. He's just a kid who likes two different girls and has no idea how to handle that. Aaaaaaaand, I just wrote an entire forum post about shipping. What have I become? Was it not awesome when he redirected the electricity back at the mechatank? Also, Iroh is going to be kickawesome.

So, a small part of my crazy dream from last night was that Mako used Hemalurgy to obtain Earthbending.

There are two main reasons I really enjoyed the film. The first is that the film didn't rush through the characters introductory scenes. Every hero was given time to be (re)introduced and established with full scenes that might have belonged in a movie that was just about that character. The second reason I liked it is that they maintained very strong continuity across all the films. If it happened in a previous film, that's what happened, rather than relying on selective continuity like many other franchises would have. I'm a sucker for Continuity Porn, and this movie had it in droves. Honestly, those two reasons are also my main problems with the Harry Potter films. Every scene feels like it's a mad rush to get across the necessary information and then move on to the next one, and they only maintain continuity if it's convenient. Sorry for that mini-rant. Yeah, this movie was awesome.

Well, Gold and Silver had Dunsparce, the absolute stupidest looking pokemon of all creation, but nobody gives Gen II flak about it. Though, I guess Stunfisk might just give him a run for his money. All the gens had some stupid and/or terrible pokemon. But here's the thing: You don't have to catch those ones! Pick some awesome ones and go with them! Also, TEPIG IS GREAT AND A FANTASTIC POKEMON AND I LOVE HIM LIKE I LOVED MY BULBASAUR.

Well, now that I've downloaded them in HD for free off of iTunes, I have watched the first two episodes of The Legend of Korra at least seven times. Will I be watching those same episodes when they premiere on Nickelodeon at 11:00 AM tomorrow? You bet your pants.

No love for Nintendo, despite their new console coming out this year.

Not sure if this has been put in this thread yet, didn't bother to check, but even if it has, it deserves to be in here again.

Having received a tax refund last week, and finally having a job after months of unemployment, I finally had enough money that I felt I could justify a game purchase. So, this week, I went out and bought Kid Icarus: Uprising. The first day it was sort of difficult adjusting to the controls, but when I went back the second day, the controls all clicked, and it just became an insane amount of fun.
